Chronicle of the White Knight: Ichiro Kyousuke Pt 3: Tale of the Fallen Stone

'As my relationship with Nanase grew, I stayed in TYZ, not to be with my brother's wife which I had no regrets of at first. My intention was unclear, maybe just an excuse to throw myself into this godless crusade, be somebody either than indigent spectator. that time before the occupation or coup, it called only Tokyo in 2036, and finding a way serve my country. That's what I thought at first; been a fucking hero, the sheer patriotism went off the bat. This is for the record. History is written by the victors. History is filled with liars. Let's face it— RMS's Royalists started the First MH War, internationally denounced as the Imperian Civil War. The total number of military and civilian casualties in First MH War was about 4 million: estimates range from around 1 to 2 million deaths and about 2.3 million wounded military personnel. However, opposed to what my father said: they are ones started it doesn't mean Mutant Royalists are the only ones to blame, of course, his truth becomes written - and mine was lost. Byron Kyousuke will be a hero, cause all you need to change the world is one good lie and a river of blood flows. He's about to complete the greatest trick a liar ever played on history. His truth will be the truth. But only if he survived, and I been dead. And rest of the humanity and mutants with him."

"What? You want to join Imperial military? You must be the harshest bastard to pass the recruitment test. You do know Dad's company is still a freelancer, ordered by A.N.A to investigate and provide protection for Far East region if another mutant's uprising arises?"

Said Draco firmly, climbing up on escalator along with Ichiro in the city supermarket, headed towards the bar as Draco's casual treat, or an excuse to get drunk.

"So? You think I didn't know how things work around here? Sooner or late: at first chance any nebulosus tragedy they'll act. And don't understand why you look so surprise? You already a Vice-Commander of Imperial 59th battalion, can't you pull some strings and enlisted me into military?"

"Yeah. I think I can do for my baby brother. Besides you been in the army ranks relief me blood pressure somehow. Ahh, why the sudden change of heart?"

"Just to serve my company, been dad's good book, you know how his attitude goes. Cheers."

"That's wise thinking. Cheers."

The brothers toasted beer at the bar, having a good time, after Draco dropped glass after a large gulp.

"Anyway, I need your expertise on something. You're always been smart guy here."

Draco took out the tablet, to show Ichiro something.

"Got any ideas?"

"Mm-hmm, sorry. I have no idea what that is... Wavy, hazy, hazardous loophole?"

"And this?"

Draco slides the tablet's screen. Ichiro shook his head.

"Nope ... Red diamonds, buried in mines?"

Unknowingly couple of pictures Ichiro saw was the Fallen Gates undergo evolution and some portion of Fallen Stone which both brothers didn't know in that time.

"As process of Brittonia's special investigation. One of Reconnaissance team shot those pictures, under the some —cavern near the southern bay,"

"Pretty sure no cave near the sea level, especially in southern Sea, you think—"

Draco interjected Ichiro's frivolity with grim remarks and continue--

"That's what I thought, but those knuckleheads kept on insisting their existence. Click those pictures because of it. Claiming cavern what Mutants called it 'The Lair of the Black Faceless God'?"

"Black Faceless God? And his—lair? First time I heard such deity."

"Before their disappearance, they warned me, begged me to investigate. Specifically, those glowing stones. According to the MRC's scientists in the reconnaissance team, claimed: those growing stones are the main reason Mutant's frequent attacks and rebellions over this country, so obsessed with the Far East. The murder of Far Eastern prime minister is all part of their larger plot. Those stones mined from these caverns for something big they about to start. Teleporting one place into another through this 'loopholes' of yours.'"

"Like space travel?"

"Here listen carefully wise-ass if you find that so amusing."

After said that. Draco hand over one piece of headphone, played an audio recording before team's tracking device went dead. Probably got eaten by the infected monster living underneath. Under the distorted audio Ichiro heard the voice of scientists under 'hypnosis' delivered the message in a disturbing monotone voice.

"They are sent to spread our "glorious" gifts. Those willing to accept the bountiful Fallen-made must bow before our great "Zhikanis" and be reborn. Those that reject these great gifts shall die. Others lay dormant, as if awaiting the right moment to blossom into new horrors; indeed, many of those humans lost in the during the blackness of the world emerged having been deeply -- and often unknowingly -- changed by the Empyrean's transmutative tides...Beware.... Be afraid... One day the ultimate creation of Zhikanis will rise and humanity will... Fall..."

"That's end of it. Their ashes now lie buried in hell in the Lair necropolis."

"Gezz..." Ichiro sighed in relief, from the terrifying audio chip, "Have you told anyone...about this?"

"Nah... more importantly our mission is to root out every, radicals, cults every sucker who suck their Mutant's God's ass, understand?"

"Holy shit!"

"Who. What shit...?"

"Listen to this...."

Both brothers baffled at shopping mall's television, broadcasting the shocking events which eventually called as the Catastrophic Outbreak of Darkfallen 36. Creation of the undead Walkers and other new unholy abominations if anyone knew of the old ones. Witnesses claimed they encounter such creatures: Once this been a humanoid, but now it is utterly distorted by the forces of Fallen. Eyes look at you from many places, showing no signs of a mind, only a rage caused by maddening pain and suffering. As you look, the body twists into other unnatural shapes, growing arms and legs spontaneously, the head twisting and disappearing into the back while a grinning mouth bearing needle-thin teeth opens where proper humanoids have a navel. Only death can stop its suffering, and in a mindless rage it flails madly at everything that comes near it.

"These cults easily corrupt mutants due to the discrimination they have suffered. Most human dominated nation mutants are not allowed to carry weapons for fear of rebellion. The weapons they do come to possess will often be primitive – chains, knives, Noryokus mutation and other simple ballistic weapons like slug-revolver. Now this time mutants just crossed the line!". Draco remarked bitterly, gazing the television numbly, horrified like the rest of the crowd.

The casualties said to be thousands. Instead Declaring the outbreak as accident, provisional Brittonian government claimed as Mutant Rebellion caused by one of certain human sympathizer to initiate the bioterrorism — for obvious reasons to spread propaganda to seize control Far Eastern island territory while it venerable.

"Humph. There opportunity opens for you, Ichiro."

Gazing over the screen Draco grimly remained, switched his personality from violent, reckless brawny persona he usually has—

"I want to proceed with great caution, if you still want to walk this path. There are very dangerous enemies you're up against.

"...I understand.... I'll—"

"No. You think you understand." Draco interjected again, "I know you're very motivated Ichiro but you're young. You suffer from the arrogance of ignorance. Pretty soon, Brittonia will take charge. While our bloodline ties with this country. But loyalty still with the Imperium of Brittonia. Whatever reason led you to join, While I do my best enlisted you in the army but you have to take responsibility as a soldier."

"I-I understand, what you have me do?"

"Nothing for now. Just remember, I am the sole heir to this rising nation; if something happens to me. It has terrible consequences, lot of bullshit will down by crushing you're too inexperienced to deal with, as you're my brother—"

Draco inhaled deeply before saying—

"It maybe cost you your life, are you prepared to do that, Ichiro?"

'In that time— I only care fulling my dreams, to relief something that Draco has abundant and I didn't. A family, a love one, someone who loves you, care about you, I tired so hard connected with someone, failed each time. When I with Nanase and Amiko felt like I was alive again, really connects, as if ever become real?'

"Yes brother, I am prepared."

Ichiro nodded, without hesitation.

'The history of many regions is rife with such uprisings, and such conflicts are always bitter and merciless affairs. While RMS's law and the Mutanic Creed protects the Imperial citizen from the worst privations of oppression on most regions, those not classed as fully human enjoy no such defence from brutality and exploitation by those in power. The situation is worsened because most "normal" Imperial citizens fear the mutant as an unclean, unnatural, and inherently tainted thing, and many mutants return this hatred with interest.'

Within Ichiro's monologue he mused further into the rabbit hole, motivate himself against the difficulties his journey he about to take.

'While RMS's Royalists thought this would be perfect opportunity to strike, got no notion what disaster they just unleashed, they say truth is the first casualty of war. But who defines what's true? Truth is just a matter of perspective. The duty of every soldier is to protect the innocent, and sometimes that means preserving the lie of good and evil—that war isn't just natural selection played out on a grand scale. If I only knew the radical hurricane I about to face accepting Draco's offer, joining the military. Rather shot myself, me and him to avoid this fate. Today Brittonia served their own agenda established its first own domain — Byron's holy sugary dream will come true, based on the truth where Imperium of Brittonia's legacy lies. The only truth I found is that the world we live in is a giant tinderbox. All it takes...is someone to light the match. And let the world burn.'
