57. Surfacing Secrets Part 6

"Well, it's better to head back home." Spence placed a hand on Pin's shoulder.

"I don't know, but I am not feeling well." Pin said as his eyelids drooped downwards. "I'll go to my room and sleep."

"Oh alright, Binh and I will go to our rooms then." Feng Mian said it with a straight face but his eyes showed fear. Spence noticed it. "You can stay in our rooms for now. It's too dangerous here."

"Really? Thank you so much brother." Binh's eyes glittered with joy.

The four of them walked to Spence's room and decided not to disturb Pin as he wasn't feeling well. Pin staggered all the way to his room and unlocked the door as his hands trembled. For some reason, he felt a sharp sensation arise down his nether regions. 'Maybe it's the fever.' He tried to assure himself but the feeling only increased. His breathing became heavier and face began to fluster. He could feel his ears turn hot. 'I'll sleep now.' He said as he rushed to his bed and slumped down. At that time, he felt a hand on his shoulder.

"Bond, do you think it's a right thing to leave Pin alone?" Spence said as he dusted off the comforters in the other room.

"I guess he would be fine." Bond seemed to be lost in thoughts. "You should sleep now." He said as he gave half of his blanket to Spence.

"Hey brother, are you comfortable sharing the bed?" Binh suddenly sprang up. "Me and Feng Mian can sleep on the floor if you want."

"Yes yes buddies." Feng Mian followed.

"No, it's alright." Bond gestured them not to move. "We both can sleep here, right Spence?" He glared at Spence, who seemed to oblige.

"Yes indeed." Spence muttered as he saw both of them fall back and go into a deep sleep almost immediately. "They must be really tired."

"Yeah, and now you should sleep." Bond grabbed Spence's arm and pulled him back. "Why do you get so lost in worrying about others?"

"Maybe it's because I know the value of someone's warmth. It's a nice thing to know that you have arms that can embrace you when the world terrifies you, right?"

"And why would you say something like that?"

"Ah... It's too late. I should go sleep now." Spence said as he turned around and faced the wall, scratching the concrete. "Hey Bond, I want to go check on Pin. He may need some medicines."

"Hmm... Okay." He said as he pulled the blanket to let him go.

Spence took his bag and fished out for something. He took out a small paper packet and opened it. 'I hid some basic medicines in here.' He looked through the white tablets and found a paracetamol. 'This could help.' While leaving the room, he muttered something to Bond and he signalled an O. K. Spence walked just two steps before his legs froze in place. Pin's room was opened and the situation looked chaotic inside. He rushed inside and noticed the empty bed, along with the wardrobe wide open. It was the first time he had seen it open.

"Bond! Come here right now!" His voice echoed through the hallway as he rushed in his room to call Bond. "What is the matter?" He immediately rushed out of the room.

"It's Pin... He's gone." Spence panted heavily.

"What the frick fo you mean by gone?"

"Come and see for yourself." Spence grabbed Bond's hand and dragged him to the other room.

Bond bent down near the lock and examined it carefully. "The lock wasn't broken. It could only mean one thing, Pin left the room by himself."

"Where would he go though?" Spence cried out loud. "I have something else to show."

Spence lead Bond to the cupboard, which was emptied on the floor. It was a built in feature and was deeply embedded in the wall. Bond walked close to the cupboard and began scrutinizing it. "I see something weird here." He said as he pulled a peeled of paper bit. He kept on pulling it and it began to take proper shape of a rectangle. Before they knew, they stood in front of a wooden door, that was no less than unusual.

"Don't tell me we have landed in Narnia."

"It might be something even better." Bond muttered.

They tried opening the door by pulling the latch but nothing happened. It was locked. Spence looked around the room for something he could use and removed the curtain rod to try using it. However, it was all in vain. Spence walked to his room and brought along something with him. It was a tiny key, and it had designs similar to the door frame. He placed it in the lock.

"Click!" The keyhole clicked and the door opened wide, revealing something that could answer their questions. They were standing in the bathroom of the door adjacent to them. "Oh... My... God. I can't believe this." Spence said as he walked in as he continued to wonder. Bond rushed out of the room and was in the same hallway, with Pin's room next to theirs.

"I can't believe this." Bond muttered.

At that time, they saw Pin walk towards them. His condition was undoubtedly questionable.
