Allen stood up, as if he was conducting a presentation or performance,
"So, the vampire of fiction typically are portrayed as; pale, white skin, strange attractiveness, seductive, can be killed or harmed by the sun, wooden stakes, and or garlic, and an unbelievable thirst for blood, right?" Allen listed, saying each portrayal with sarcasm.
" Well, that's how people define a vampire in fiction," Davin responded, a bit unsure,
" the things that I know from Vincent is that vampires need a form of life force, you have supernatural abilities, and that you guys are a bit sensitive to sunlight.." davin continued, listing off a few things he already knows.
Allen nodded and continued, " well, that is true but those are from a half blood, the vampire ability in it's entirety, as a full blood, is....a little overwhelming and possibly dangerous, I am going to demonstrate the common abilities from fiction first." Allen then spun a around and a familiar mist appeared. Allen had turned into a bat and did a lap around the living room then dove to the ground just as another mist appeared, Allen reappeared, a grin on his face.
" firstly, turning into a bat, for a pure blood. This is the most fast and basic transformation or shape shift... For a half blood, they can only transform into a bat." Allen explained, looking at Vincent than to Davin, he stretched a bit and spun once more and transformed into a cat.
" aw..." Davin said, looking at cat Allen, cat Allen walked up to Davin and he hissed,
" even if I'm an animal I still can talk, you know."
He said, voice a bit higher due to a cat's voice box, another mist appeared and regular Allen was standing in front of Davin,
" ok, moving on!" Allen exclaimed animatedly, stretching a bit, stiff from transforming.
" secondly, super speed, we do have it but it drains us of energy and boosts up our need, so I'll not demonstrate ." Allen said, sitting down cross legged in between the coffee table and the tv. He pondered a bit, recalling what other abilities fictional and real vampires have.
" Ah!-" Allen exclaimed, "vampires being strangely alluring is one of the things they think we have but that's not true! we can only daze a person, both half bloods and full bloods can do that.." Allen paused then looked to Davin, he narrowed his eyes at Vincent then to Davin again.. " has Vincent ever done that to you?" Allen asked, concerned for his new human friend.
Some might say that Vincent wasn't listening but on the contrary he was, when Allen asked that question, both he and Davin Responded; " no." Vincent in a monotone voice and Davin with a slightly absurd tone.
Allen looked at Vincent suspiciously before brushing it off and continuing.
Allen went from proving powers and myths wrong to demonstrating and explaining actual powers with the occasional comments from Vincent, one of the powers Allen had mentioned was the ability to walk on any surface, Allen explained that they can control the amount of gravity they have in their body.
After all the explaining and demonstrating, Allen stretched and checked his watch, an hour flew by and that's when it hit Allen -the meeting.
" Ah, crap guys, I gotta go... I've got a meeting, sorry!" Allen apologized as he gathered his things. Vincent accompanied him to the door, Allen smirking condescendingly, when Allen and Vincent reached the door, he turned to Vincent, smiling once more,
" You know, Davin's a great guy, I think you've got yourself a good one." Allen half teased and half remarked before winking and exiting, closing the door behind him before Vincent could respond.
Vincent blinked, processing what Allen had said.
'... well, he's not entirely wrong...' Vincent thought subconsciously, he then shook his head and went to his room, humming a little.
Davin stretched and resumed his researching, the melody of the song Vincent had sung stuck in his head.
It was the next day and Vincent had called Allen over, supposedly to teach him korean as he had promised. Allen and Vincent had agreed that Allen would come over at 11 am.
The door bell rang, signifying Allen must have arrived already, Vincent went to open the door.
" hey!" Allen greeted Vincent, chirping with cheerfulness. Vincent nodded and led him to the dining room where about three books were piled on the table along with a few worksheets. Allen gulped a bit, hesitantly sitting down.
" let's start, shall we?" Vincent said with a smile but his eyes were telling something else, payback. Allen was screwed.
Davin walked into the dining room to find Allen sobbing without tears while Vincent was watching Allen do so emotionlessly.
Davin blinked a couple of times and spoke up,
" uh... what's happening here?" Davin asked, concerned and confused.
" Davin!" Allen cried out, holding a paper.
Vincent's head turned to Davin's direction,
"I'm teaching him korean." Vincent responded, monotone. Allen, looked back at Vincent,
" it's torture!" Allen whined to Davin.
Davin looked to Vincent then to Allen and blinked and slowly backed away to the kitchen
" that's your doing.." Davin said while arriving in the kitchen, grabbing a sachet of hot cocoa.
Vincent chuckled a little while Allen pouted a bit.
" you're both mean" he said while tapping his pencil on the table. It was silent, the only things that were heard was the steering of a spoon and the tapping of the pencil.
A minute has paused by and Davin had joined them in the dining room, reading one of the books Vincent had piled on the table.
"You know, this isn't that hard." Davin commented, still reading the book.
Allen could only blink, " can You read this whole thing?" Allen asked, handing him the work sheet. Davin, without a beat read the first sentence
"geu sonyeoneun dol-a danyeossda"
Vincent seemed pleasantly surprised which made Allen become dumbfounded.
"That was actually not bad." Vincent said, eyes widening a bit, a smile spreading on his face.
Allen muttered under his breath, " biased..."
" well, it's like it was designed to be read easily.." Davin said sheepishly, reaching for the book to show both Allen and Vincent. "Huh.." Allen blurted out, dazed that Davin, a person who JUST read the book, would easily read this. Allen just shamefully took the book and studied it as Vincent and Davin watched as if they were teaching their child.
" oh!!" Allen exclaimed, his usual grin spreading on his face, " that makes much more sense!" Vincent and Davin just stared at each other, both determination and pride in their eyes.
An hour had passed by, Davin staying with them the whole hour, being invested in the language of others. He learned along side Allen with Vincent as his teacher. For Allen, it felt like torture while Davin went through it with ease.
When it was time for lessons to end, Vincent handed Allen a work book he bought the day before. Allen was a bit dumbfounded,
" uhm...what's this?" He asked, inspecting the inch thick book Vincent has handed to him.
" it's a work book, it'll help you memorize hangul, write hangul as well as understand it," Vincent explained, " think of it as homework." he added for better understanding.
Allen had flashbacks of stress from over due assignments from high school and college.
" oh... well, If it helps.." He said, blank in tone.
It was time that Allen left. They all said their goodbyes and Allen left.
A sigh of relief has escaped from Vincent's mouth, teaching Allen was a handful.
Allen whined from time to time and complained a lot, Vincent could see why their professors were stressed out.
He went back to to the dining area to clear up the books and worksheets, there he found Davin immersed in one of the books about korean.
" Hey," Vincent greeted casually as he organized a few work sheets " Hi." Davin responded still fully immersed in the book. Vincent chuckled a bit, "you're still reading that?" He asked, amused by Davin's dedication, Davin looked up from the book and smiled brightly, " yeah, other languages are very interesting." Davin said, a flash of determination in his eyes.
"If you want I can teach you korean," Vincent suggested, a compromise already In his head,
" really?" Davin asked excitedly, Vincent rest his chin on his hand, looking at Davin,
" yeah but in exchange, you'll teach me Italian."
Vincent said, warmly smiling. Davin's head perked up, a pleased smile on his face." Deal."
They then spent the day teaching each other's languages, giggling at each other's crude attempts at forming a sentence and getting to know the history behind it.
by the time they've decided to wrap up the lessons it was around 5 in the afternoon.
"Well, it's about time that we finish this up, right?" Vincent said, a smile tugging his lips.
Davin nodded as he collected the books while Vincent organised the worksheets and pens.
Vincent's phone chimed as soon they finished, it was time for him to get ready for work, right on time.. Vincent went to his room while Davin went to his, both smiling without notice.
