Musical

( this has a lot of musical references and slight spoilers, reader beware! { this was the longest chapter I've written so far})

It was late but Davin was still scrolling through Pinterest, laying down on his side while His eyes were blinking heavily paired with his drowsy vision. He closed his eyes for a second, while his grip loosened. Silence filled his ears only to be disturbed with a blaring noise of music. He opened his eyes and the morning sunlight hit his eyes.

He reached for his phone, which was blaring a song from Hamilton, the room where it happens.

He opened his phone, letting out a yawn.

It was about 6.

"Huh..." He said out loud, staring a his phone,

" I woke up early..." He stood up and started stretching.

He showered, brushed his teeth and put on a loose maroon shirt with black jeans.

He walked outside, making his way to the kitchen until he heard faint singing coming from the bathroom, he curiously walked closer.

" Hand in my hand and you promised to never let go, We're walking the tightrope", he heard Vincent singing. Ever since, from the first time he heard Vincent sing, he's been enticed by the sound of his voice. He bit down a smile and headed to the kitchen where he prepared his own breakfast.

Shortly, he heard the door open and close with a creak and the footsteps fading and another door opening but slightly farther away.

Davin smiled a bit while drinking his coffee.

A few minutes later, Davin heard a door open accompanied by a singing voice, coming closer to the kitchen.

"Ain't it crazy? How something that looks so weird to me Could be so sweet~?" Vincent walked out, his hair clipped up away from his face, he still continued singing with a smile, "Ain't it crazy How something that looks so savory Is bad for me?" But he stopped as soon as he saw Davin, he had a glint of amazement in his eyes, Vincent's face suddenly flushed.

"Well, you're up early..." Vincent commented, awkwardly walking towards the kitchen, trying his best to casually avoid eye contact.

Davin stared as he fumbled his way to the kitchen, grabbing the loaf of bread and a thought had generated his mind, he smiled excitedly as curiosity glimmered in his eyes.

" how'd you learn to sing?" Resting his head on his wrist, looking at Vincent expectantly.

Vincent took 2 slices and put them in the toaster, sitting on the counter remembering.

" Well, I've done theatre for like.." He paused a bit, counting the Years of memories of acting and belting his heart out, " 5 or 4 years.."

He said, smiling warmly and Feeling nostalgic.

He anticipates Davin's reaction a bit as he saw Davin's smile widen slightly, his eyes sparkling

" Wow, that's awesome!" Davin exclaimed, his smile turning into a grin. Vincent was a bit absorbed in the sight of Davin's a smile and sparkling eyes...and that's when the toaster conveniently popped up, surprising Vincent a bit.

He grabbed the toast and placed it aside and grabbed a mug and made a cup of tea.

It was awkwardly silent between them, Vincent was just sitting at the dining table along with Davin, silently munching on his toast.

Davin felt a bit tense, he didn't really like the silence though so he started up the musical conversation again.

"So, how many musicals do you know?" Davin said, a curious look in his eye, Vincent stared at Davin, looking through his mind library of musicals he'd seen, then finally he responded.

"About 20 or more" then took a bite out of his toast, easing up a little as he looked to Davin.

Davin smiled, looking at Vincent in awe

" wow.. I only know about 10 or less musicals" Vincent's eyes suddenly lit up, smiling slightly,

"Do you know Waitress?" As to which Davin responded by singing a lyric of a song in the musical from 'What baking can do'

"Mama, it's amazing what baking can do~"

"Hair spray?"

" Good morning Baltimore! Every day's like an open door~! "

"Wicked?"

" loathing, unadulterated loathing~."

Vincent chuckled a bit, looking back at Davin,

"You have better musical knowledge than my co workers" Davin smiled brightly, a small blush forming.

" well, how else would I even be singing right now?" He asked, then a look then appeared on Vincent's face, it was quite vague.

"Do you know Twisted the musical?" Vincent said, focusing intensely Davin, an eyebrow raised in anticipation.

Davin sighed a bit, a smile spreading his face

"I've heard about it, I know that it's Disney based. I've only really heard one song though and that's um.." he paused, & remembered it,

" ah! golden rule...?" He said a bit unsure of the tile of the song but it made Vincent's eyes light up even more.

"We're going to watch it." Vincent said, smiling brightly, Davin smiled back, evenly matching Vincent's. He was up for it.

"Sure! How about after breakfast?" Davin suggested, pointing at both of the plated food in front of them. Vincent nodded as he finished the last few bites of his toast and drinking his tea. Patiently waiting for Davin to finish his breakfast.

Davin had finished the last bit of his coffee and he stood up, nodding to Vincent.

Vincent nodded back and collected the plates and mugs and looked to Davin,

" you go to the living room first, I'll take care of these" with a fond smile, Davin nodded and walked to the livingroom.

As soon as he sat down , his mind was suddenly showing an image of Vincent's smile from before. Davin dreamily sighed, not even acknowledging why he was sighing, his mind trailed off a bit.

' He's nice... good hus-' but he interrupted himself, shaking his head. ' what are you talking about?? He's your roommate! Get a grip!' He then redirected his attention to a bunch of pillows on the sofa.

An idea sprung into his head.

He started grabbing all the pillows placing them around one certain spot on the sofa.

He brought a blanket and placed it on the pillows. He looked at it, feeling content with the semi-pillow fort. He slid in, pulling his knees to his chest and placing the blanket over him, he smiled comfortably.

Vincent walked in, a few snacks in his arms.

" hey!" Davin greeted, Vincent stared at the piles of pillows, a thin smile on his lips.

"Hey." He greeted back a bit awkwardly. Vincent laughed softly while Davin arranged the pillows, making a spot for Vincent to seat.

Vincent walked over to the coffee table and placed the snacks down, he walked over the tv, pulling something out, a connector cable?

Vincent turned to Davin, still holding the cable,

" we need to use your laptop to watch this"

He said while waving the cable with a smile.

Davin blinked, a bit confused but he still got up and grabbed his laptop and logging in, handing it to Vincent, smiling softly.

"Thank you." Vincent said while turning back.

Davin sat back down as he watched Vincent do his thing, Vincent plugged the connector thing to the laptop and clicked a few buttons on the t.v and voila! The computer interface is on the t.v. screen! Davin was slightly amazed, he looked at Vincent's direction, his face just astonished, grinning " how'd you do that?" Vincent chuckled a bit, "back in Korea, we didn't have a cable so we just used the laptop and searched for whatever we wanted to watch." Then he turned back to the laptop.

Vincent went onto YouTube and typed in "twisted the musical. He sat Down at his spot next to Davin as the musical played.

He was half paying attention to the musical and payed attention to Davin, he was curious as to what his reactions might be.

" (I need 6 eggs) then why not buy some?"

Davin bit down a smile, Vincent then focused on Davin, only listening to the musical.

"(I want to be a cat!) Wat? (f*** you!)"

Davin giggled a bit as he continued watching the musical.

Vincent and Davin watched the musical until the golden rule and that's when Davin hummed along. Vincent was a bit amused,

"Follow the golden rule That's how I choose to live! Wow, simple reciprocity Is always my philosophy I get back what I give!" He listened as Davin hummed along as he watched the screen, smiling slightly. The song was at it's "evil" reprise and That's when he felt a slim and warm hand hold his. He looked over to Davin who was smiling warmly as he continued to watch the musical, A rosey glow tinted Davin's cheeks.

Vincent blinked a few times before focusing to the screen, dull red flushing on his cheeks.

' This isn't bad. It's most probably platonic" Vincent reasoned with himself, repeating it over & over until he believed it.

They continued watching until the song of the musical's jerk started, 'orphaned at 33'.Davin leaned a bit closer to Vincent Whispering lowly

" this Aladdin's a jerk." Smiling, Vincent looked to Davin, nodding in agreement.

Vincent leaned a bit closer to Davin, whispering back a response,

"Just wait and see, he's gonna be even more of a jerk later." They both giggled as the musical Aladdin melodramatically sung

" at 33..~" He felt a slight squeeze on his hand and he absent mindedly squeezed back.

It was act 2 and they were and the "carpet ride" scene Davin giggled a bit he turned to Vincent, smiling goofily,

"Wow, he IS worse And rapey too"

They both laughed as the musical "Aladdin" and "Jasmine" continued to point put various controversial things that happened to Disney

At was time that they reached the end of the musical, Davin was smiling melancholicly as the couple on screen sung. The musical had ended and Davin turned excitedly to Vincent and began to word vomit things about the musical, " it was so good and the Disney references were nice. The Aladdin was a jerk, Jasmine was naive and Jafar is a chaotic cinnamon roll. It was sad yet important for Sherazade t-" Davin glanced to his hand where he saw his hand in Vincent's, his eyes widened and he looked from their intertwined hands and to a clueless Vincent. Warmth rushed to his cheeks

Vincent was a bit confused but he was patient he watched as Davin's eyes darted from him and to their hands. Suddenly coldness came back to his hand, there was no more warmth because Davin has pulled his hand away.

He looked up to see Davin's flushed face, smiling apologetically,

"U-...um sorry about that," he said apologetically as he reached for his neck,

"I tend to..uh.. To do that sometimes.."

Vincent could only shrug, to be honest, he enjoyed it. Being a half vampire, he was also half human so he craved warmth from time to time, "it's fine, it didn't bother me at all." But Davin continued to apologize

"Its because I'm-I'm often around my family--wait what?" Davin looked to Vincent slightly shocked and dumbfounded.

Vincent shrugged while looking at his hand.

" It's fine, it didn't bother me at all.." he repeated, looking away from his hand and to Davin.

Davin smiled in relief, he thought Vincent would think that he's weird. Then suddenly, he had a weird compulsive thought, ' does that mean I can hold his hand whenever?' he shook his head, tying to clear his thoughts, ' no, That's too much of a stretch..'.

Vincent noticed that Davin was contemplating something in his head, he then got slightly worried.

He reached for Davin's hand, squeezing it gently which snapped Davin out of his mind palace. Davin turned his head to look at Vincent, he was smilng warmly.

" you are welcome to hold my hand," Vincent said, "anytime." raising up both his Davin's intertwined hands. A blush pooled to Davin's cheeks, he didn't really expect that but he thanked Vincent anyway,

"oh...! Um.. Thanks." he smiled softly.

They stayed there for a while, watching random videos, still holding each other's hand.

It was slightly tense but overall a relaxed atmosphere.

They went on to watch musical animatics to Cinema sins... somehow. Then Vincent felt a vibration in his pocket followed by a chime. He reached into his pocket and hesitantly let go of Davin's hand.

He opened his phone to see a text from his brother.
