Where Is She?

It was noon and the natural lighting lit up Takahiro's room. Takahiro had slowly opened his eyes, feeling groggy. He winced as he rubbed his head as he was woken up with a headache and sighed. He looked to the side of the bed where Kahoru had fallen asleep on, only to notice she had disappeared.

He moved over and sat on the side of the bed, staring at the wall in front of him. After a few minutes of just sitting there, he snapped out of his zone and tirelessly got off the bed, then walked outside of the room.

Ryoma, who was sitting in the living room, was typing away at the laptop until he heard a noise from upstairs. He paused what he was doing, looked at the direction of the stairs and saw that Takahiro was walking down. Surprised, Ryoma quickly stood up and ran over to Takahiro. "Sir, you shouldn't be up and about. Please go back to bed. I will bring your meals upstairs to you."

Takahiro blankly stared at Ryoma, who was concerned for his boss' wellbeing. Ryoma became confused as Takahiro did not respond. Takahiro looked very tired. Ryoma put his hand on Takahiro's back, attempting to lead him back upstairs and into the boss' room. Ryoma was astonished. His boss would never follow his orders. To see him doing something Ryoma wanted the boss to do was incredibly rare and if it was believable, he would have boasted to his coworkers about it in the office.

After tucking Takahiro back in bed, Ryoma ran downstairs to heat up the rice porridge Kahoru had made. He then scooped it and poured the porridge in a bowl, grabbed a spoon and hurriedly went back upstairs. He walked in with the porridge in hand and sat down on the side of the bed. Takahiro did not have the energy to do anything let alone eat. Ryoma placed the porridge on the table, hoping Takahiro would get up and eat.

He then took out a thermometer and checked Takahiro's temperature. The fever was still quite high. He showed no signs of getting better. Just as Ryoma was about to stand up, Takahiro gripped onto Ryoma's arm. Ryoma was startled and turned around to see what Takahiro wanted. He was in shock. Takahiro had never made that face before. He looked very frightened. Takahiro said in a hoarse voice, "Where is she?"

Ryoma seemingly confused, tried to release himself from Takahiro's grip asked, "Who?"

"Kahoru."

"Why are you asking for her boss? You chased her away last night."

"Did I?" Takahiro's frightened expression had turned into a defeated look. "Oh, I did." He sunk back into his bed and turned to the side, facing his back towards Ryoma.

Ryoma again was confused. "Boss, you need to eat."

Takahiro did not respond and closed his eyes. Ryoma did not know what to do and stood up, walking out and back towards the living room. He went back to work on his laptop.

...

After a few hours, it was late afternoon. Ryoma had finished his work and headed back up to check up on Takahiro. Ryoma's eyes widened and he fell into a panic. The food he had left for Takahiro, hadn't been touched and Takahiro was pale. He was heavily breathing and was sweating. Ryoma went to get the bucket and towel to try and cool Takahiro down.

He ran downstairs to grab his phone and dialled Kahoru's number. He rang her several times before giving up. He did not know what to do and searched ways to help Takahiro's fever online.

...

Meanwhile, Kahoru, who was in the operating theatre, was too busy to take any calls. She continued to work for the next seven hours. Time for her was moving quite fast since she only focused on the operation. Soon it was 11 pm and she had finally finished her surgery. Kahoru prepared to leave and as she walked through the lobby, she decided to check her phone. She stopped and was stunned to see so many missed calls from Ryoma.

It must've been an emergency and so she called Ryoma back. When the phone started to ring, She spotted Ryoma in the waiting area. Confused, she went up to Ryoma. Ryoma noticed Kahoru walk towards him and immediately stood up and sprinted towards Kahoru.

Kahoru tilted her head, "What are you doing here so late?"

"I know the boss wanted you to leave, but now he is asking for you and he is in bad shape right now."

"What?"

"Enough words, we need to go now." Ryoma grabbed Kahoru's wrist and dragged her out of the hospital and into the front passenger seat of the car. Ryoma ran around the car and sat in the front seat and started the car. He pulled out of the parking lot quickly.

"Why are we going there? He doesn't need me."

"You'll know when you see it. He refused to eat and won't even talk to me."

"That's Takahiro for you."

"This is serious. His temperature won't go down and he's so pale."

"Why didn't you bring him to the hospital when you came to find me?"

"Because he refused to go with me. He wants nothing to do with me."

Kahoru sighed in frustration. One minute Takahiro wanted to kick her out, and now he was asking for her.

"How bothersome." Kahoru sighed.
