After walking back into the room, Kahoru sat down on the side of the bed. Bowl in one hand and a spoon in another, she tried to get Takahiro to feed himself with it. "Here take this and eat it."
Takahiro blankly stared at the bowl. He did not feel like eating and covered himself with the blanket. Kahoru was visibly shocked and she placed the bowl down on the side of the bed. She decided to try and take the blanket off him. "Hey you need to eat."
"No." Takahiro tried to pull back the blanket but was too weak to do so, and so Kahoru had won their little game of tug and war.
"If you're not gonna eat, then I'm going to feed you."
"What? No." Takahiro quickly sat up and scooted back, as it to say to her that he did not want to eat.
"Yes." Kahoru lifted the bowl up and scooped a bit of porridge and brought the spoon to his mouth. Takahiro furrowed his brows and glared at Kahoru.
Kahoru was unfazed by his glares. She tried to think about way to feed him, when she had an idea.
"Hey Tacchan, here comes the airplane." Kahoru moved the spoon towards his mouth as if it was an airplane. Takahiro seemingly confused, slightly parted his mouth in shock and was about to say something, until he felt something warm fill up his mouth.
Even though it was just rice porridge, Takahiro felt a bit warm inside. He let Kahoru feed him as he blushed. He was embarrassed that the airplane tactic worked on him. After the long awkward silence, Takahiro finally ate all the porridge that was in the bowel.
"It wasn't so bad wasn't it?"
"Mm... Don't call me that name again. It's childish."
"Since you don't like it, maybe I'll keep calling you that, Tacchan."
"You didn't mind when we were little."
"That was because we were young. Don't get so full of yourself."
"Taccha-"
With one hand, Takahiro covered Kahoru's mouth. "Shut up."
Kahoru reluctantly nodded. Takahiro sighed and took his hand away. As soon as he did, Kahoru took advantage of the situation to repeat his nickname again. "You're so stingy Tacchan-"
Takahiro, who had enough decided to make her close her mouth for good. He grabbed her head and leaned in, pulling her head towards him.
Kahoru did not have time to react and her lips touched Takahiro's. She was shocked and tried to push him away, but he would not budge. After a few moments trying to push his chest away from her, their lips parted. He smirked. "Will you shut up now?"
Kahoru's cheeks turned a deep red and she pointed at Takahiro. "Y-you!" She looked around the room and took the bowl and spoon. "I-I'm going to clean this." She stood up, swiped the bowl and ran out of the room.
Kahoru ran down the stairs and made her way into the kitchen. She started to clean up the remaining dishes and cutlery in the sink trying to distract herself from the kiss. "That stupid idiot."
Takahiro sat in bed, staring at the ceiling. He sighed. "Serves you right." As he thought about Kahoru, he remembered that day when he found out her apartment had burnt down.
He stood up and made his way downstairs, hoping Kahoru was still inside. He heard the pots and plates clanging against each other as he walked closer to the kitchen.
He peeked in and saw Kahoru cleaning the dishes. "Oi"
Kahoru jumped and turned around. "W-What do you want?"
Seeing that her face was still red, he smirked. "Your face is still red."
"Shut up."
"Tsk. I'm here to ask you if you have anywhere to stay."
"Oh, uh, the hospital."
"You're staying at the hospital?"
"Where else do you want me to stay? I'm trying to find a new apartment to stay in."
"Well, stay with me until you find a place to live."
"What?"
