It had been a month and Kahoru had just finished a twelve-hour surgery. She started walking home in the last month to get some air. After the fire, she soon found a nice apartment fifteen minutes away from the hospital.
On her way home, she felt something watching her. She stopped in her tracks and looked around, only to see that no one was there.
Kahoru shrugged it off and continued to walk towards a convenience store that was located next to her apartment building. After buying her groceries, she walked into her apartment. Just before she could walk in, a man had called her name. she instinctively turned around to see the familiar face. Her eyes lit up, seeing that she had not seen him for a while. "Hi, Ryoma."
"Hi Kaho." Ryoma stood next to his car in which the doors then opened. Unsurprisingly, the man was Takahiro.
kahoru sighed and rolled her eyes, "What is he doing here?"
"I-I can explain-" Ryoma started to fidget with his hands.
"No, I'll explain." Takahiro interrupted. He sighed and went back into the car to grab a small bag. After grabbing it, he quickly handed the bag to Kahoru. His face quickly turned red. "Here."
Kahoru gave a confused looked as she stood there. She stared at the bag. "Uh, what's this?"
"Just take it," Takahiro shouted
The shouting had stunned both Kahoru and Ryoma. Kahoru reluctantly accepted the bag. "Thank you?"
Before Kahoru was about to walk into her building, Takahiro's stomach rumbled loudly. Kahoru stopped and turned around. "Did you eat anything today?"
Ryoma placed his hand on Kahoru's shoulder. "The boss did not eat anything at all."
"Is that so? Do you guys want to come in? I'm making hotpot."
Ryoma's eyes lit up. "Yes, please. Can we boss?" Ryoma started to shake Takahiro's shoulders.
"Fine."
"Yay!" Ryoma cheered and they followed Kahoru into the apartment.
After the awkward silence in the elevator, they soon reached Kahoru's room. She opened the door and they followed her in. After turning on the lights, Ryoma looked around the apartment. He was very impressed with the interior. It looked much better than Kahoru's old apartment. It was just a simple apartment with two rooms. It was much more modern with solid coloured furniture and a few house plants. "Your apartment looks much better than that old rusty apartment, and much bigger too."
"I found it when I went searching with my brother. It's the same price as the old apartment, but there is more space here."
"It's so worth it. I'd move here if I could."
"You can. I have a spare room."
Takahiro's ears perked up and he felt a little jealous about how close Kahoru and Ryoma were. He tried to ignore the conversation by going out onto the balcony. The cold air breezed through his face as he slid the door open. He closed it to make sure the heat would not escape.
He leaned onto the railing. The view was stunning. It showed the majority of Tokyo at night. It was building upon building. Takahiro never felt amazed. He had seen Tokyo day and at night and he never noticed the beauty until now.
...
Kahoru noticed Takahiro go outside. "It's too cold for him to be out there."
"Don't worry about him. Let's go make this Hotpot."
"Okay."
...
After half an hour, Kahoru and Ryoma had finished making the broth and prepping the meat and vegetables. They moved the pot to a portable stove on the four-seater table. Kahoru looked out to the balcony. Takahiro was still outside. "Ryoma, I'm gonna get him. Can you bring out the rest of the things?"
"Sure thing."
"Thanks." Kahoru walked outside and leaned against the railing next to Takahiro. He continued to stare into the city. Kahoru watched the view with him. "The food is ready."
"Okay," Takahiro responded.
After a moment of silence, Kahoru sighed, The view is beautiful, isn't it?" Takahiro turned his head toward Kahoru and gazed at her. Kahoru noticed and looked at him. "What?"
"You are the view."
"Huh?" Kahoru's face was full of confusion.
