The waiter walked out and Asahi and Kahoru continued their conversation. "Asahi what are you doing for work right now?"
"I'm a superintendent at the Tokyo metropolitan police department."
Kahoru was taken aback. She never thought that Asahi would work in the police force. "You're working with the police? I never thought you would go into that type of field."
"I didn't think would too. I wanted to work with Hiro, but my family was having issues, so I ended up going into the force."
"What do you mean?"
"My father is the chief commissioner."
"Wow, that is cool."
"I guess so." Asahi laughed, "There are not that many cases at the moment, so it's a little boring."
"Well, stay safe."
"Thanks, Kaho."
Takahiro watched the two catch up and was quite jealous of them. He never heard Kahoru say such nice words before. He wished Kahoru would be nicer to him.
The waiter then came in with their food and drinks. After placing the food down, he quickly left. Kahoru's eyes sparkled as she looked at it. "It smells so good."
"It does." Asahi smiled. He licked his lips and started to eat.
Before Kahoru was about to eat, she gazed at Takahiro, who seemed a bit more quiet than usual. She felt his cold aura slowly filling up the room and he looked quite upset.
Takahiro noticed and looked back at her. "What are you looking at?"
Kahoru was surprised and turned her head back. "Nothing." She then started eating. Takahiro also was eating, but quickly finished up whilst Asahi and Kahoru took their time eating and talking.
After drinking the rest of his wine, he stood up and excused himself. "I need to make a call. I'll be outside."
Asahi saluted as he smiled, "Okay, see you soon."
With that, Takahiro left the room. He went to pay the bill and walked outside. He hopped into his car and made a call.
Inside, Kahoru and Asahi had a grand time. They finished up the rest of the wine and talked.
"Hey, Kahoru?" Asahi made a serious face. Kahoru was a bit puzzled.
"Yes?"
"We should do Karaoke again when we're both free. Just like the old times."
"We should. I'm not as good as I used to be but I'm willing to go."
"Yes!" Asahi pumped his fist into the air. "We should leave now. It's been a while since Hiro left. They walked through the halls and Asahi went to the front counter. "How much is it?" He was ready to take his wallet out.
The cashier giggled, and she smiled, "The gentleman already paid for everything."
Asahi was a little upset. "That idiot. Look at him flaunting his money. I'll pay him back later."
"He really does like to flaunt his money." Kahoru shook her head.
Just before they were about to leave the building, Asahi stopped and looked at Kahoru dead in the eye.
"What is it Asahi? You're scaring me."
"Take good care of Hiro. He seems very mean, but he is the most caring person I know. He's just been through some stuff a long time ago and built up a barrier between many people."
"Okay." Kahoru was a little shocked. She knew Takahiro was mean to her since she was a little girl, but now, they were adults, Takahiro would've been nicer to her. Kahoru started to think about Takahiro and if he was mean to her because he had really built a wall for himself or if he was the same old Takahiro.
Soon, they walked outside and Takahiro was inside of the car, talking on the phone. Asahi scratched his head. "I think I'll go with Fujioka tonight. I'll text you later. See ya." He waved at Kahoru.
"Okay see you." Kahoru waved back at Asahi.
After Asahi left, Kahoru walked into Takhiro's car. She sat in the passenger seat and looked out of the windshield in silence.
Takahiro looked at Kahoru and muted his side. "I'll be done soon."
Kahoru nodded her head, and Takahiro unmuted the call and continued. "Yes, It's preferred that the Jewellery should be around that price. If you sell if for less, you will slowly lose profits and if you sell for more than what it is, you'll scare customers away."
Kahoru was impressed by Takahiro's business talk. He was truly a professional. Hearing him talk made Kahoru quite sleepy. Although he was quite mean to her, the more she listened to his voice, the more soothing it became. She slowly fell asleep to Takahiro's voice.
"Yes. I can come and check it out this weekend. Okay, see you then." Takahiro hung up his phone and put in his pocket. He turned to look at Kahoru. He was baffled to see that Kahoru had fallen asleep. He took his blazer off and gently covered Kahoru with it, and reached over to put her seatbelt on.
While Takahiro hovered over her, Kahoru slowly woke up to see a body. His eyes widened and she screamed as she pushed Takahiro. Takahiro's back and shoulder slammed against the roof and visor. "Ah!" He cried out in pain.
Kahoru tried to scoot back as much as she could. "What are you doing?" She shouted.
Takahiro yelled back at her, "I was trying to put your seatbelt on!"
He sat back down on his seat and rubbed his shoulder. Kahoru realised what she had done and started to panic. "I'm really sorry."
"You should be. Since you're awake, put the seatbelt on yourself."
"Fine." Kahoru reached for the seatbelt and noticed that Takahiro's blazer was covering her. She had been wondering why she suddenly felt warm. She put in her seatbelt and Takahiro started his car.
He pulled out and started to drive towards Kahoru's home. Kahoru could not help but glance at Takahiro as he drove. She quietly admired him. He heart began to beat quickly. The silence felt a bit more relaxing.
Soon, they arrived at Kahoru's home. Takahiro parked behind the apartment building. Kahoru felt guilty about hurting Takahiro's back and shoulder. "Um, do you want to come in?"
"I'm fine."
"I have pudding in my fridge."
Takahiro paused and his eyes began to sparkle. He turned off his car engine and took off his seatbelt. "Okay, I'll come in."
Kahoru was quite amused at Takahiro. He seemed to like pudding as a child, and still liked it now. "You still really like pudding don't you?"
"Anything for pudding."
