So nervous, I looked at her eyes, they shone with great beauty. I feel like a trainwreck. I'm too nervous to even look at her, yet talk to her. Why on earth am I this nervous!? Get a hold of yourself Chan-Ming! You've got this!
"So, uhm... Dai Tai"
She was staring up at the rain then she looked at me.
I blushed so damn brightly! There was no way that she wouldn't notice!
She then replied with:
"Yeah?"
I didn't think I would actually get this far! What do I reply with?!
"U-Uhm... the weather's nice out today? Isn't...I-it...?"
What!? Out of all the things you could have used! "The weather's nice out today?" It's pouring down rain right now and this is the best I could come up with!? Why am I so stupid?!??!?
I look at her with the most embarrassed look on my face.
She looks confused for a moment but then starts to giggle.
"Pff...Hm...Hahaha... Yes, the weather is amazing. I love the clear raindrops gush down upon me as if I were under a waterfall, getting soaking wet, most likely going to catch a cold tomorrow. However, it is still the most relaxing feeling you could imagine."
We joked in the rain for a while until I eventually escorted her home.
"It's been awesome talking to you, I hope we see each other again sometime"
With a smile on my face, hair dripping wet, I then start to walk away, regretting I didn't ask for her phone number. I'm a damn idiot.
As I start to approach the gate, I hear what seems to be footsteps splashing upon water.
Pat.Pat.Pat
I look behind me to see what was running towards me, I see a shadow that I seem to recognise in the distance, getting larger and larger as it runs in my direction.
I stand my ground, not knowing what the shadow could be, but as it comes close to the street light next to me. I start to see her. Running to me in the rain. Getting completely soaked like the idiot she is. Haha, she's kinda cute, running with that kind of expression on her face; an expression so strange but, as if she were really determined to do something.
I stand there and smile, waiting for what she has to say.
"Haaah. Haaah. Haaaah"
"What's up?"
I say with a cute duckface grin that I've been practising on my bedroom mirror for an occasion such as this one.
"Why'd you go so quickly? Here."
She hands me a paper with washed away ink.
"What is it?"
"What do you mean? You know exactly what it is! Don't make me spell it out for you!"
I show her the piece of paper and her face becomes emotionless.
"You mean to tell me, I ran all the way here, in the cold, freezing rain, when I could have been relaxing in my warm, cosy house with my fluffy blankets; to give you a phone number that the cold, freezing rain washed away anyway?"
"Essentially, yes"
"AHHHHH! This is annoying"
I drop to one knee, extend my arms and look back at her
"Hop on"
"Wh-Why?"
"You're tired aren't you? Your house is kind of far, I'll carry you there"
"O-Oh, you don't need t-"
I cut her off before she could even finish her sentence
"It's fine, I want to, now hop on before I change my mind!"
"O-okay..."
She then allows me to carry her and I walk the streets to her house
Walking with her on my back, made the once lonely streets seem happier.
Made the once pouring rain seem lighter.
Made the once cold breeze seem warmer.
I think maybe.
Just maybe.
I might be in...
Love.
