CHAPTER TWELVE (12) Excited

Rose ran into Grace's office and discovered the latter had a smudged face, her mascara had stained her whole face and she looked like she had just seen a ghost.

Rose crouched down beside her friend and hugged her tightly.

"Ruo..." Rose soft tone made Grace's heart ache even more, her whimpering increased. "Ruo..." Rose started to pat her back. "Ruo..."

Mr An stood far from them, watching the two young girls. What was going through their head? He couldn't imagine what it might be, but he enjoyed seeing them together. He could already guess why Grace was sad.

"Ruo, what is it?" Rose tone was so soft like a whisper.

Grace continued to cry softly. It was unlike Rose to be so calm... Tears flowed down Grace face as she tried to control them.

"It's okay..." Rose assured her. "It's fine... Everything will be okay... Alright? So please stop crying, except you want me to join you too."

Grace opened her mouth to say something but ended up choking on her tears.

Mr An went to get warm water from the dispenser then passed it to Rose.

Rose gave it to Grace whom only took two gulps.

"How are you feeling now?"

Grace only nodded twice and was now smiling.

Rose took out wet wipes from her bag and began to wipe Grace's face.

Grace continued to grin from cheek to cheek. Also at that moment, Grace noticed a movement from the corner of her eyes. "Dad?" She called out to her father.

"Yes, my child?" His answer made Grace realize that something was off.

"What are you doing here?" Grace questioned. He was retired now, that's why she took over, it was rare for him to just show up.

"We got a call you locked yourself up." Came Rose's reply. "Why did you do that?"

"I was just..." Grace looked up at Rose. I was just worried about you.

"It's okay now..." Rose said.

Grace also noticed the shattered glass door. "What... what happened to the bulletproof door?"

"Nothing to worry about." Mr An assured her.

"How can you say that?" Grace didn't know how to react. "I'm never going to trust any company again."

"Haha," Mr An light laugh came. "Don't worry, it will be fixed soon. This time we ordered from The Chen Empire,"

"Sounds better." Grace said. "My best friend is the best."

Rose was now done wiping Grace's face, she rose to her feet as she pulled Grace along with her.

Grace dropped onto the chair, she was drained and famished.

"Are you okay, my child?" Mr An worriedly asked.

Grace apologized. "I'm sorry for making y'all worrry." She pouted. "It was never my intention to..."

"It's fine, let's go out. You need to eat." Rose grabbed her friend's hand and pulled her up again. "We will be back father." Rose said to Mr An whom nodded in return.

Grace went forward and hugged her father. "I really made you worry, please forgive me."

Mr An hugged her as well as patted her on the back. "It's fine, child."

"I'll bring her back home." Rose assured Mr An as they disappeared into the elevator.

The employees stretched their necks to see their madam's face and know if she was alright.

"Wow, I really admire these two friendship." One of the female lawyer said.

"I do too, they hold so much power." Another one said.

"They are made for each other,"

"Yes, but I'm worried about the court case..."

"Truly, Miss An is trying so hard to avoid it by even offering huge sum of money."

"It won't be easy, it's Su Yuanqi we are talking about."

"Yes, I heard he's not from a wealthy family but has made name for himself."

"I heard so too, but it would do him better if he stopped."

"We will have to wait till next week to find out."

Su Yuanqi alongside his colleagues exited the roadside restaurant.

Shen held Baozhai on the shoulder as they jogged along on the sidewalk.

Su Yuanqi was right behind them, while Changsu remained behind at the last line, sulking.

"The road to success is long..." Shen started to sing.

"The road to happiness is long..." Baozhai joined.

"The road to eternity is long... Only the Almighty can guarantee life... The road to happiness is long... The road is so long that we get to face so many problems... We also to be strong to come through it." Shen and Baozhai sang in sync.

Su Yuanqi chuckled.

"We can only come through it if we are true to ourselves... The road is so long... but... we will surely succeed... The road is long but there's light at the end of the tunnel... Hard work also pays... we have a long way to just stop... The road to happiness is long... is long, is long, is long... "Come on, Changsu." Shen urged.

"You two can continue." Changsu eye rolled.

"For once just be positive!" Baozhai went to pull him to join them.

"Can you not drag me into your rubbish?" He frowned.

Baozhai shrugged and went forward to pull Su Yuanqi instead.

Su Yuanqi joined too as he sang along.

It only annoyed Changsu further, it was apparent that Su Yuanqi didn't see through Baozhai acts, if not he'd keep away from her. She used every little opportunity to get close to him.

Baozhai was so excited. She was beginning to finally get close to Su Yuanqi and wanted it to remain that way forever.

When Rose and Grace stepped out of the elevator in the underground parking garage, they couldn't find Dandan but found He Duyi instead.

He Duyi informed her that the warehouse needed attention so she rushed over. After that, he drove them to a five star restaurant.

They were first served an Entrée consisting of steak meat and garnished fish.

Grace preferred fish so she chose the fish while Rose took the steak.

Each bite she took made her moan. "Grace try this, it tastes so much better..."

"No," Grace disagreed. "You take from mine, you'd forget about your steak."

The waiter reappeared with rice, vegetables, soy sauce chicken deboned wings and fruit juice.
