He Duyi pulled up in front of the club just as Grace and Rose stepped out of the club, they got in and Duyi drove off.
"How are you acquainted with such hoodlums?" Rose was looking ahead but Grace knew exactly what Rose meant.
"I saved a girl from their group, since then, Lu Jing has been looking for a way to get back at me."
"And the other guy?"
"Lu Jing's friend and partner in crime." Grace answered honestly. "They will come after you..."
"I'll return the favor." Rose meant every word she says but Grace worry only increased.
"You still have a battle ahead... we should deal with that first."
They got to the An family manor first, Rose waved Grace off from the car while Grace bowed multiple times as well as winking to her friend.
"Is it to your mansion, ma'am?" He Duyi politely asked.
"No, the Chen mansion."
"Understood." He Duyi said and ignited the car and drove through the streets to get to the main road.
Rose's phone began to ring, she took it out to discover it was their mansion telephone number.
"Hello?" Came her mother's soft voice.
"Mother,"
"How are you Rose?" The mother asked with worry.
"Fine, and you?"
"I'm... I'm fine..."
"What is wrong?" Rose asked.
"Nothing..." her mother's voice kept breaking.
"Mom?" Rose heard some noise in the background.
"Rose, where are you?"
"On my way... What is going on? Mom? Mom?" Rose voice rises the more she called out to her mom. "Mother say something!"
"Rose, I'm fine... just come back, okay?"
"Who came over?"
"Your grand aunt is here."
The veins on Rose's temple bulged. "She came to scold me?"
"Just come home first." Mrs Chen said. "And please don't drive."
Since the beginning of the call, He Duyi had been listening and hearing how worried Rose was about her Mrs Chen he sped up.
The call ended. Rose was no longer comfortable just sitting there. She wished she was already home. Those annoying family members kept getting on her nerve. And today might just be the day she lose all her respect in their presence.
Few minutes later, He Duyi drove to a stop in front of the Chen Mansion.
Rose didn't wait for him to open the door, she got down and looked around and noted the cars around.
Her grand uncle was also here.
Rose was greeted at the door by her mother.
"You're home, don't get worked up sweetheart." Mrs Chen knew her daughter best. "Rose, can you hear me?"
"Mom." Rose halted to meet her mother face to face. "Please let me handle them this time..."
"No baby girl." Mrs Chen disagreed. "As always just let it slide. They will get tired."
"They won't stop." Rose looked her mother dead in the eyes. She raised her hand up to brush her mother's hair to the side. "You've always told me to be calm, and they keep insulting you! It's not going to happen again."
After saying that, Rose pulled her mother along to the main sitting room.
She examined everyone there, her father was sitting on the single couch while her grand uncle and grand aunt shared the three seater couch.
Their was Peng Lanying and Peng Jun on the other end.
Rose also noticed her grandmother, Duan Lihua and her mother's brother, Zheng Nianzu.
"There she is!" Peng Lanying said out loud, notifying everyone around that Rose was back.
Rose flashed her a smile then said out aloud. "Good evening."
Duan Lihua smiled, "Come Rose..." Rose continued to drag her mother along until they got to where her grandmother was seated.
"Rose you have grown a lot, compared to the last time I saw you." Zheng Nianzu comment made Rose blush.
"Uncle Nianzu..." Rose simple answer made him chuckle.
"I didn't lie, did I?"
Rose pouted. "Uncle Nianzu."
"Hahaha." Nianzu joyous laughter filled the sitting room.
Peng Lanying was seething. "Rose don't you see grand uncle Duan Yongrui, and grand aunt Duan Meilin?" She smirked at Rose.
"You're not deaf, are you?" Rose question surprised everyone.
"Where's your manners, Rose?" Duan Yongrui asked.
"Exactly, grandpa." Peng Lanying said. "I had just gone over to ask her some questions concerning the company but Rose ended up slapping me..."
"Lanying," Duan Lihua called out to her before anyone else could. "You should always say the truth."
Peng Lanying heart dropped. Duan Lihua was fond of defending Rose, because she was her grandchild.
"Lihua, what are you saying?" Meilin asked. "Are you saying Lanying is lying?"
"Meilin, Lanying is lying!"
"..." No one could talk as they were too stunned to speak.
"Mother..." Mrs Chen tried to hold her mother's hands to still her but Nianzu blocked her by grabbing hers.
"Why do you kids have to lie so much?" Duan Lihua was furious. She had gotten the footage of everything that transpired. She had also called Jun to inquire and he explained how he met them.
"Grand aunt..." Lanying made a face that said she was pained.
"Duan Yongrui, is this what you taught Biyu?" Biyu was Yongrui only child and she gave birth to Peng Lanying and Jun only. He always tried to protect his grandchildren but they kept causing trouble.
He would have scolded them if they fought themselves but he couldn't be against them because of his elder sister's grandchild.
Yongrui raised his eyes to see the smug look on Nianzu's face and it only triggered him more.
"Lihua don't blame me that Rose is stubborn." Yongrui couldn't just lose.
"And what is Lanying?" Lihua sprang up from her chair while pointing her shaky finger at Yongrui. "A liar and a cheat."
Peng Jun pressed his lips together. "Grandpa, I told you to just let it be..."
"Shut up!" Yongrui yelled back. "Are you trying to educate me?"
Peng Jun was terrified so he quickly shook his head. "How could I dare?"
Meilin watched her siblings argue.
"Maybe if Lanying starts telling the truth, there would be more peace in this family."
