His Taste is Weird

Rei felt his grip tightening on the pen and notepad he held as his brow twitched in annoyance. He also wonders how he still manages to keep a professional smile on his face with the bastard in front of him. What the hell is he doing here anyway? There are tons of cafes in the neighborhood. He is expecting to see him tomorrow but not immediately after what happened yesterday! Is the universe really have a grudge on him today? He glared at the black-haired guy sitting on one of the tables in their cafe, which is located near the window where you can see the full view of people and cars passing by the street.

The said guy has his back leaned back with the menu in his right hand, legs spread out confidently. He looked so confident in himself that Rei could see from his peripheral view that both guys and girls inside the cafe are glancing their way. Rei took a deep breath and mentally groaned as he caught a scent of Kyou's calming but dominating pheromone. He gulped when he felt his heart is about to burst in his chest and his face heating up but stopped, body stiffening as he realized something. This is the same feeling he had when they are in the library...

"Is it because he is a dominant alpha? Or maybe..." Rei whispered to himself, smirking smugly as he glances at Kyou, who's still scanning the menu. "He can't control his pheromones that well..."

Kyou sighed, giving up and closing the menu. "One mocha."

But as he said his order and reaches out to the menu to give it back, his voice just passed through Rei's deaf ears because he is still busy with his internal struggles. Rei shook his head at his thoughts but groaned to himself. Maybe he is wrong? Dominant Alphas are known for their great control over their pheromones. Then why? He feels weird whenever he smells Kyou's pheromone. He had this urge to run away from him but at the same time---

"Hey!" Kyou exclaimed, snapping his fingers in front of the red-haired guy who was shocked and caused him to step back a little.

Rei blinked, flushed as he raised the pen and pad near his face to write. "O-Oh. I-I'm sorry. What is your order again?"

"One mocha." Kyou sighed, placing the menu on the table and crossing his fingers in front of himself.

"One mocha..." Rei repeated, lightly amused that someone like him will order a mocha as he wrote it down, then glancing at Kyou behind his notepad. "Anything else?"

"None," Kyou replied, glancing at the street outside, which his eyes clouded with thoughts.

Rei glanced at his face a little when he felt a switch on Kyou's pheromone but shrugged it off by bowing. "Please wait a minute."

But still, as Rei walked towards the counter to give Kyou's order, he found himself bothered at how the black-haired guy looked as he stares outside the streets. He caught a glimpse at his eyes and his pheromone felt... Melancholic? He released a deep sigh, slouching and burying his face in his hand. No. He is just sad that he can't spend his day with Haruo. That's right, but... What the hell is that with his order? Does he like Mocha? From his personality, he definitely looks like a black coffee person. His taste is weird.

Norio, who is standing behind the counter and preparing the mocha Kyou ordered, tilted his head to the side when he saw Rei, who looks like he is having a mental breakdown with his ears up to his neck looking flushed. Flushed?

"Rei?"

Rei blinked, eyes confused as he looks at Norio, who leaned closer to him. "O-Oh!"

"Are you okay? Your face looks red. Are you...?" Norio asked, glancing side by side as if he is worried that others might hear them. "Having your heat?"

Rei raised a brow at him. "Huh? No."

"Are you sure? Do you need to take some pills?" Norio asked, brows furrowed, and Rei tried so hard not to smile to offend the younger male.

Ahh. Why does their junior look so cute when he's worried? Rei patted and ruffled his hair, giving him a cheeky grin, to which Norio replied with a sigh in annoyance. But just when the green-hair protest to his senior, Rei stiffened when he felt his phone vibrates in the pocket of his apron. He released the latter's head before picking up his phone from his pocket, glancing at Norio, who mumbled something under his breath before fixing his hair and starting doing his work. He then returns his gaze on his phone, and he can't help but flinch when a familiar number keeps on blowing up his notification.

: Hey, Rei. Are you free today? Please reply.

: I see that you are still working in Cafe Serenity. I kept going there yesterday, but you're not there. I'm guessing that it is because of school.

: Are you still going to ignore my text? It makes me sad that you want to end our relationship like this. You know how much I love you.

: Is it because of him? It's because of him, right? Are you two back together? You and that professor? When will you learn your lesson, my dearest Rei?

"Wow. Who is it? It keeps on vibrating." Norio raised a brow, amused by how much Rei's phone is vibrating, before placing the mocha on top of a tray in front of Rei.

Rei shook his head, forcing himself to smile. "N-Nothing. It's just spam messages."

What the hell is wrong with this bastard? Hands shaking, Rei gripped hard onto his phone as he mentally cursed at the person who keeps on texting him. Yes, he had played around when he and Haruo 'broke up'. Actually, when he ran away. He had slept with different kinds of men every day, but none of it is serious. He clarifies before he sleeps with someone and that they can't fall in love with him. Some guys fell for him, but none is like this guy... He felt his heart skip a beat when another notification appears on his phone.

"I want to see you..." Rei whispered, reading the text messages of the stranger to himself. Ahh... He has a bad feeling about this.
