Then It was Silent

After the sudden outburst of Rei, Shiori watched as Asuka took a last glance at Rei who was staring at the white mug in his hands. his sky blue eyes looking blankly at it before placing it to the side and continuing to rinse the other plates. The Omega can't help but sigh at Rei's expression. She didn't know why he reacted that way but she just knew that he felt awful. She then looks at the dark brown-haired girl beside her who also sighed in return.

All of the years they are together, they have watched countless times how Rei gave up and return to Haruo. They also knew that somewhere inside his mind and each time he came back to him (Even if he didn't tell them himself), he never gave up on the fact that someday Haruo looks at him and tells him that he felt the same way. Even if he was given just a glimmer of hope, he will hold onto it. Desperately. They didn't know what he is thinking or planning now but this time, Shiori can't and won't just sit still about it. He crossed the line after all.

"Excuse me. How long until Mr. Katsuragi goes home?" Shiori asked, watching Asuka return to her sit in front of them with both of her hands on her lap.

"I think he will return in a few more minutes since he just went out to buy something." She answered, turning her head to the left to look at the wall clock and looking back at them. "By the way, have you all eaten yet?"

"We already did." Shiori nodded, placing her phone on the table and feeling her jaw clenching as she faked a smile to hide her hostility earlier. "We just dropped Rei home before we go and also, to see Katsuragi-sensei."

"Then are all of you his students? That's so nice! I'm Asuka Fujimori, Haruo-san's---" Asuka brightly smiled, reaching out a hand but stopped when the other blonde immediately grabbed her hand.

"Fiancée." Shiori shook her hand once before releasing it, raising a brow and smirking. "Right?"

Asuka nodded as a reply, ignoring the noticeable weird glint in Shiori's eyes. "Yes. Nice to meet you... Umm."

"Shiori Tsuruoka. You already know Rei since he's Mr. Katsuragi's 'roommate'." And that took great patience for Shiori not to roll her eyes at what she said, pointing a finger at Rei who immediately looked towards their direction when he heard his name.

He bowed a little before returning to what he is doing. "Hello."

Shiori then pointed at the dark-haired girl beside her who automatically bowed. "She is Yasuko Matsuyama. And this is..." Just when she was about to point at the person on her opposite side, she stopped when she saw Kyou busy scrolling through his phone so she shoved him a little to catch his attention.

Kyou blinked in confusion, looking up from his cellphone with a face solemn as possible like he want to go home already. "Kyou."

"Nice to meet you all! But wait. Is your surname Tsuruoka?" Raising a brow while scanning Shiori's soft wavy blonde hair before going to her yellow-green eyes, she then loudly gasped and placed a hand on top of her mouth. "Oh my. Are you somehow related to 'that' Eri Tsuruoka? The actress?"

Shiori nonchalantly nodded, "Yes. She's my Mom."

"That's amazing. I love her works!" She squealed, both hands clasped in front of her chest as she leaned closer. "I'm one of her fans."

'Oh?' Shiori blinked, smirking to herself before smiling widely at the fangirling woman in front of her. "Oh really? Then you must have watched the series where she acted as a 'mistress'."

Yasuko, who listened to the whole exchange between Shiori and Asuka, eyes widened at what she heard. 'She didn't... She didn't...' The dark-brown-haired girl thought, scanning the look on Shiori's face. She didn't know what the hell is she thinking but they shouldn't just jump to a conclusion without hearing Asuka's perspective. Right? But unfortunately, her friend doesn't understand that concept. She slowly snaked one of her hands beside Shiori, pinching the blonde's side and earning a groan from the latter.

"Ow! My mom did act as a mistress one time though!" Shiori hissed, glaring at the Beta while holding onto the part where she pinched her and turning her head towards Asuka who just blinked in shock. "Right?"

"O-Oh. Yes. That's Sounds Of Passion, am I right?" Asuka asked, tilting her head to the side before chuckling a little. "I cried a lot because of the main character but the way Ms. Tsuruoka acted her part is so awesome."

"Yes. That one!" Shiori eagerly nodded before bumping her arm on Yasuko's. "See? Told you."

Yasuko didn't answer instead, she just sigh before shaking her head. While the three of them are busy talking to each other, the forgotten black-haired Alpha beside Shiori has already stood up and already walking slowly towards Rei. He stopped beside him, exactly where a pitcher of water was placed but noticed there were no glasses near it. He glanced at Rei who was now arranging the washed plates on a dish rack, thinking whether to disturb the boy or not.

Meanwhile, Rei, who immediately knew about the other's presence because of the familiar but subtle Mahogany scent near him, starts to speak.

"Why are you here?" Rei scoffed, grabbing his white mug from the sink before turning his head around to look at Kyou and smirking. "Getting bored listening to girls' talk?"

"I was just about to ask for a glass." Kyou reached for a glass on the dish rack before getting the pitcher of water on top of the kitchen counter, pouring water onto it.

A phone ring then starts to echo across the room, catching all of their attention including Kyou who just finished drinking. They all glanced at Rei who panicky pulled his phone out from his pocket, eyes widening as he stares at the name of who was calling. He gently placed the mug on top of the counter, gripping onto his phone. Kyou was about to call him out but he was cut out by the sound of someone unlocking the door then Asuka's ecstatic voice.

"Haruo-san!"

And then it was silent.
