Jan 28 : Journey to the West (Or to the East)

Dear Diary,

I have never been more thankful for my quick decision on leaving the town. You know why? Because we hadn't left the town for more than 5 kilometers when we heard a huge sound. Such a huge explosion. We could even see the smoke going up to the air!

There is no doubt that the small house of ours has transformed into rubbles, like its other friends. We were so lucky that we managed to leave before those people threw their playthings around and start destroying our home.

The bad news, my dear diary, is that not all people have left the town. Some insisted on staying there as they can't afford the cost of moving.

Us? Nah, we also have no penny in us. But I'd rather move out and have more options to survive rather than staying there where there is only one future: death.

Luckily, we avoid death.

Unluckily, now we don't have a house. Again.

But no worries! I've come across the same situation before, and voila! I got myself a roof to stay, albeit only for a short term. But still, I could get us home before, I certainly can get us a house again this time.

Problem is, I have no sense of direction.

You can't blame me on that! How can I know where we are when all that we saw are just rubbles! And dead meat.

I wonder if we can eat them.

But we will become a cannibal if we do so that one isn't an option.

We've been surviving by digging some food from the empty houses that are still intact. Most of them are rotten food, but we managed to find some canned food. I'd say my meals at the moment are way better than the last two years I've been spending on eating cold bread.

I'm poor, you don't need to remind me of that fact!

But we can't stay for long in these houses because this area also considered a red zone, or what we call "dying zone". Why? Simply because this area reek of death scent more than living scent.

No, you are not wrong. This area is one of the countless areas that have been destroyed by those people in greenies jackets. Don't know how many peoples have turned to ashes, but the lingering death scent is still so strong. It isn't healthy to stay here for long. But for now, we are still here as it has been snowing quite heavily these few days.

We'll die from cold if we travel now.

Thankfully I bring our blanket. We can stay warm inside the blanket as it becomes colder at night time. Every night I'd cuddle sister so that she will stay warm in her sleep. I hope that she won't get sick from the cold weather. But I also have no power to control the weather. There are still a few months before Spring arrived. Hopefully, we can find a safe place to stay sooner.

By the way, as I said I have no sense of direction, I don't even know where do we head to. Is it to the West? Or is it to the East? I... really have no idea.

Neither does Joe.

And we can only count on our lucky star when traveling. Stupid, I know. But what can we do? We have no compass, neither do we have a map. Both of us have never traveled before as well. It really is a bad idea to move out alone when you have no sense of direction. So, Mr. diary my friend, never ever start traveling when you have no idea where you are going to or even where you are at the moment, okay? Unless you want to experience a thrilling and exciting journey like ours, of course.
