Feb 26 : Winterdale

Dear Diary,

We finally arrived in Winterdale! And they even gave us a room to stay in! FOR FREE.

I honestly am so grateful for this. I thought we wouldn't get a place to sleep anymore, with how many refugees that have been coming here. Now that we have a place to settle, at least we don't need to sleep on the street. It's still so cold even though it's almost March. Still a month away from Spring.

Winterdale is a small town, but much bigger than the previous town, Oldbourne. It's closer to one of the big cities, Aprora, only need around 2 hours of traveling by carriage. People in this town generally have better living standards as they can go to Aprora to open stall or do some business. So different than Oldbourne.

Oh! Now that I finally have some time to talk, let me tell you about this country of mine.

So, I'm living in a country called Esnon. This country isn't the greatest in the whole world. Base on what Dad told me, this is a moderate size country with 3 major cities; Xuesea, Eleyrith, and Aprora. Our main income is from farming because this country is in the mountains area.

That's also why we get colder and longer winter, or so I was told.

Now, what's happening here? I think you have more or less get a clue on it.

Yes, war. The most horrible event that the government thinks is necessary to showcase their ego and power.

All because one day 4 years ago, our neighboring nation "accidentally" sent one of their missiles flew and "coincidentally" it hit one of our small towns.

And then our Mr. Government got so angry, that he chose to deploy his army, said that he wanted to settle the score with this neighboring nation. Dad was among the army that was deployed, albeit he was in the second or third batch. That was what I was told though.

Until now, the score hasn't been settled yet, and they keep exchanging missiles. No one knows when this will end, or how many people will be unlucky to be blasted by the explosion. Or if we can stay alive passed today.

The government launched an attack in the name of protecting our country, but this action ended up hurting us more than saving us.

Isn't it ironic?
