Dear Diary,
I twisted my ankle when working today. Don't ask me how it happened, because I have no fucking idea how it was twisted in the first place. I just worked, as usual, took the usual road, and voila! The next thing I know, I've kissed the floor and my right foot bent to the direction that it's not supposed to be!
The pain is so awesome that I think only my hair doesn't feel it. I can't even stand straight afterward!
I was lucky that Joe was with me, otherwise, I don't know how to go back home in this kind of situation. The sight of sister panic's face was giving me a ton of guilt too. She almost teared up, and I need my utmost ability to convince her that I will be okay and won't leave her alone like how Mom and Dad did.
Thankfully I have a great boss. When he heard I twisted my ankle, he directly visited me and help bandage my foot. He also gave a strict order for me to rest for the time being and will give me half the pay I usually get while I'm on sick leave. I can't be more grateful for meeting such a great boss. Even the aunties that I previously worked for weren't that generous.
And yes, I and Joe already find a job here. It's a letter-man. or what they call postman. Well, it sounded better than letter-man. As the name sounds like, what we do is mainly delivering and collecting mails from home to home, or even parcels. They have tons of mails every day, but all of them are from another town or another city to Winterland or from Winterland to the outside world.
I don't even know why there are so many mails when Winterland is just a town. But if even a town can receive this many mails, I can't imagine how many mails does the city gets every single day. Maybe they would need one single room just to store all the mails that they receive.
We get 10 silver per hour and we work 6 hours a day, so at the end of the day, we get 120 silver in total. A loaf of bread is 5 silver, so a day we need to spend 45 silver on food. I won't complain about it as it gives us freshly baked bread instead of the usual cold bread we get. Better food is a better health. We save the remaining money, just in case we need it.
Like right now.
Because of these injuries, Joe needs to buy medicine, bandage, and to call for a doctor because I need to appease my dear sister's worries, despite the fact that my boss already bandage it well. it cost us almost 500 silver. If we don't have any savings, maybe this ankle will be left to rot.
Maybe not that frightening, but at least I won't be able to call for a doctor. And wouldn't know that it's actually quite serious as I fractured the bones. So the doctor said he will come again next week to check on my ankle.
Which means, another spending. Great.
