FLASHBACK - The countdown starts (4)
The next day when Kate woke up, she saw a text message of her black market account being deposited with 200 million USD. She checked her account and saw a reply from the consortium. It was a mail thanking her for solving their problem. Along with that they were also giving her high paying job offers. Kate immediately declined. Even though she was eligible to work since she had finished her schooling, she wasn't willing to work for a company. And as she had predicted, the companies started poaching her. She immediately transferred the money from the black market account to different bank accounts and then deleted her black market '666' account, finally erasing all her traces. She then created another account with the name of '000', since she needed to find a team. She started looking for talented programmers and hackers. Outside the black market she looked for tech geniuses - she would require them for her future plans. Now she couldn't wait to turn 18, since her future plans could be possible only when she turned 18. She contacted all of them on the same day and called them all together at the same place as Brent. All of them willing to work for her, since most of them were just freshers and no one would be willing to give them a high pay just out of schooling. Also, they could understand that Kate was not any ordinary girl. She was an expert in hacking since that's how she reached all of them. She introduced them to Brent, who was made the team leader. Now for the biggest headache that was on her way - talking to her mom about moving out. She couldn't work with her team which now consisted of 11 people, including her at her cramped up room. Also, she didn't want anyone to know what they were working on. She decided to speak to her the next day since it was already late night by the time she finished assembling her team.
The next day as usual her mom came down and started eating. Kate came to her sat on the chair next to her.
"Mom, I need to tell you something."
"What is it?" spoke her mom in a harsh tone. Kate ignored her tone, since she was already used to it, even though it still hurt her.
"I'm moving out."
Her mom blanked out and the suddenly started shouting.
"WHAT!!? WHAT ARE YOU TALKING ABOUT? WHO GAVE YOU THE PERMISSION TO LEAVE THIS HOUSE? YOU ARE NOT GOING ANYWHERE AND YOU ARE ALSO GROUNDED FOR AN ENTIRE YEAR!! HOW DARE YOU SAY SUCH THINGS!? YOU UNGRATEFUL GIRL!!!"
Kate controlled her anger and spoke.
"I think you're mistaken mom. I never asked for your permission. I was just telling you. I don't care about your opinion since you never cared about me."
Her mom immediately became furious and threw the spoon from which she was eating, at Kate.
Kate dodged it and immediately gave a cold, intimidating look to her mom. Her mom subconsciously went back a bit and stopped. Kate then got up and went to her room to pack up her things.
