I was not able to write yesterday to give time for my daughter who has a severe headache. My whole family was supposed to go somewhere but my hubby decided to leave me with my daughter, so she can rest. The rest left to another town and came back late at night.
I also did a lot of thinking yesterday. As I wrote the plot, outlining and adding chapters to the sorcerer's life and the lady MC, I found some problems with it. Not exactly a problem but more on deep pondering. I started to ask myself, "What makes my story special?
It is a good story. Even to have a cliche story is not bad at all. People still love the story as long as it is captivating. After rereading the whole plot and the chapters, I need to give it some time and read them again later. As my mentor usually say, let it stew for a while and go back. You'll see a lot of things about which you haven't seen during the initial reading.
So, I let it rest for now and read that again tomorrow. Instead, I have an enjoyable time talking with my daughter. Then I read some stories under the #69 writing prompt and thought of joining just for fun. Same way when I began this diary. Anyway, it will only be a short story, 11,000 words or a bit more. I'm also going to make it a romantic comedy. I even thought of finishing it in one sitting.
Somehow, before finishing chapter 1, I shared the idea to my daughter and a new concept came up through our conversation. I deleted the whole thing for the writing prompt and start a story for a whole new novel.
In one sitting, I wrote the synopsis, the setting, world background, characters, outlines and more. I found this new idea more interesting. Even though, I need to give more time with the world building within the story. That won't be a problem since I've finished the world building yesterday.
I never thought I can write the story this fast. Everything is already in my mind.
I'm going to continue with this and see where it will bring me. The earlier story has to wait for a while, again. I feel bad for my waiting readers who added the story in their library but it is a complicated one, so I need to give time to let it simmer for a while. I'll see how sweet, exciting or bland is my writing later.
By the way, it is still 4:00 in the morning. I woke up earlier today because of a few young people was making noise outside. I have a hard time going back to sleep now, most of all, my cough, of which I'm suffering for days now, is bothering me. I rather make use of my time writing and let tiredness bring me to sleep later.
Also, more ideas are inserting in my brain to keep me awake. Need to write them down before they'll go away.
