The Playstyle Matters

"Do you have the data of the Slime, Silv? Can you confirm how different it is compared to the previous game?"

"I do not have that much information for this area and its inhabitant. I need to do a manual observation to increase my database."

"Sure, you can check it."

Silv moved to the designated location. A place that not too far from Stugrd and Korka.

Stugrd looked like he was at ease. He could dodge the Slime attacks as well as attacking back. At the time, the swing of his greatsword sliced through the Slime's body.

Of course, the battle didn't end in an instant. The Slime regained its shape like nothing happened. It did not stop at all in the lane of motion.

Korka on the other hand positioned himself behind the Beastkin Warrior.

On several occasions, when Slime's position was slightly off, he threw the flask there. The flasks he threw had different effects. One of them provides burns on the area in contact with it.

Stugrd's Greatsword that passed through the burning area would be imbued with it. The large sword would gain an additional fire attribute as a part of its damage amount.

Unfortunately, even with all the attacks coming in, there was no sign of them being able to finish in such a short amount of time.

Stugrd himself always made an extra effort to avoid Slime attacks. With the threat called 'red' colored name, he couldn't take it lightly. And thus, slowly and safely was his resolve in this matter.

"Based on the observation, how the Slime able to nullify a direct swing and additional element properties, the Slime might be the same as in the previous series."

Silv has come back from his duty and reported the result back to Ar.

"That's good news then."

Ar has done some work. When Silv arrived, he was putting an item into a virtual screen.

"In addition, I can't confirm the existence of Slime's nucleus, because Mr Stugrd's full swing attack didn't flinch it at all."

"Yeah, the nucleus is constantly moving and acted as a vital point of the Slime. And with the difficulty, I doubt we can one-hit kill it even with a clean hit."

"Yes, but at least Mr Stugrd's attack should have flinched him."

"Yeah, if the attack hits the nucleus. After all, the possibility of missing a full swing is very high. Therefore, in the previous game, the least effective class for hunting Slimes was Warriors."

Hearing that, Silv nodded like he got something new for his database.

After explaining that, Ar continued what he was doing. Silv was watching him carefully.

He set a stance and aimed his crossbow at the rock the size of half his grip.

He put the rock on the ground and held the crossbow in one hand. His free right hand was positioned near the rock.

Shuu!

A projectile came out of his crossbow and hit the rock after he poured his Energy and hit the trigger of his crossbow.

His right hand swiftly activated the skill towards the stone embedded in the projectile.

The blue projectile and the stone gradually changed shape.

The skill used was the exclusive skill belong to his Adventurer Class, Inventor. Or for now, the only exclusive skill for him.

"You can put this in your database too."

Ar moved a virtual screen to Silv. The virtual screen stated some information about the item he successfully created.

"Do you know what's the most efficient class against Slimes?"

"Mage was stated as the best class to fight against the horde of Slimes with their Wide Area skills."

"And do you know why those Wide Area skills were so effective?"

Ar and Silv were having a conversation while Ar himself still doing his current work.

He put the newly created 'Bolt' to a virtual screen. Doing another transfusion and transmutation, and repeat. After quite a time, he had to take a rest to refill his Energy Point.

"Slime nullified all damage into different terms called by the forum as 'gray' damage also known officially as 'nullified damage'. Wider Area damage from a Mage's attack means that the nullified damage will spread out evenly."

"Yeah. And that's because Slime was considered the weakest monster in the previous game. Do you know the terms of 'the overkill class to beat Slimes'?"

Ar and Silv were now walking closer to the Stugrd and Korka's place. Since he had to recover some of his energy and already had some 'stock' on his inventory, he decided to move closer.

"Yes. Assassins were mentioned in those terms. With their 'weakness exploit' skill, Slimes were easily killed from high penetration attack to its nucleus."

"And that's the plan. Since I can't cover their whole body with a wide range attack nor I able to use the Assassin skill, means this is the best option."

Ar looked at his crossbow. Even though this game is one of the hardcore games, this game still had features that make it easier for players.

One example was the weapon Ar's held at the moment. The crossbow and ammunition were integrated with each other. The bolt he inserted into the virtual screen before was registered into the equipped weapon automatically.

20 rounds of ammunition were listed in the description of the crossbow he was using. If he clicked on the ammunition text, a [Magic Infused Bolt] would appear as an explanation of the name of the ammunition he used.

"The second best way to tricked Slime that 'nullified damage' is, penetrate it and gave them more hit."

Right at the moment, in his view, the Slime jumped to attack and the track was in a straight line to him. He couldn't see what the Slime was attacked, but he didn't want to miss the chance to test his theory in this open free opportunity.

The blue projectile mixed with gray-colored stone flew to the Slime direction.

A while back, between Stugrd and the Slime's fight, this Slime attack was its biggest opportunity.

Back then, the only exchange of attack was between the Slime and the Warrior. There was another person nearby, but the Slime could only focus on the Warrior in front of it. Even with every flask that came in its way and attracted its aggro, he couldn't change the target of its attack.

This other person that kept throwing chemical flask to the Slime and the Warrior was Korka. During the fight, he kept blabbering restlessly.

"I know that he is your colleague, but even I can see the value of people. During the dawn earlier, It's proven that Mr Narzael was the strongest damager at our party, right? Every attack he dealt kept flinching the monster. It means that most of his attack was a critical hit, right? "

"Yes, although I am pretty sure that it's not 'most of his attack' but, 'all of his attack'."

There was a running duration for every action he did with his flask. The orange-colored flask that he threw to the ground nearby would ignite flames in the area around.

A green-blue colored flask he threw to Stugrd gave the Warrior Energy Regeneration buff.

It went the same with the other flasks he threw. And now, Korka wouldn't throw another until one of the buff or debuff's duration ended.

"Then, it was even better. We can clear this quest faster."

"If you say so, that's mean you don't believe my ability that much."

Hearing what Stugrd said gave him a surprise. All this time, he kept praising the Lionkin in front of him and witnessed the ability with his own eyes.

"What do you mean? There's no way I do that. I followed you because of that reason."

Korka was agitated and unconsciously moving closer.

"Hey! Watch out!"

The sudden movement surprised Stugrd. As if knowing how valuable this opportunity was, the Slime changed the direction of the jump which should be aimed at Stugrd.

Even Stugrd was trying his hardest to avoid all the attacks coming from the Slime. Even with a Defense, and Health Regeneration buff he received from the Flask, he decided to avoid the risk called 'took a damage'.

And now, the Alchemist beside him was targeted. Korka has unlocked a hidden class quest and received a [Hidden Adventurer] Stats. But, the level was merely above Lv 10. Considered the weakest in terms of stats.

Korka himself was flustered. He couldn't move and was so afraid of the reality that occurred to him.

He shut his eyes tight and ready to receive his fate. With a hit like this, he might lose more than only killed and respawn back with a penalty. His opportunity to play with such an incredible player that he respected might also be gone.

But, his fears were not realized.

BLUB!

Surprised by the sound, he opened his eyes and saw that the slime was not in front of him.

The Slime was lied down on the ground not so far from their location.

The slime did not die but still, he was saved.

"Haha, that's one of the reasons why he is my top priority and why I invite him first." Stugrd put a satisfied smile of relief on his face.

"You must know that, if you believe in my 'damage-dealing' ability, then our priority is not another damage dealer to faster things up. The playstyle matters."
