World's Mystery

i have imagined myself falling countless times, from the bridge, from the top of the school building. there are days i wish to experience the wind pushing me as i fell down, and if that was the last thing i ever felt, then that will just be an added bonus. but it wasn't yet time for that.


i  won't be feeling the ground break me just yet, not today.


maybe i will break the promise like every other. but that's not today.


so why do i feel disappointed when i landed on the safety net.


I could do nothing but stare, looking at nothing.


i could hear jack wrestling Luna and holding her down. but everything was distant. it felt like looking at a movie, i felt like a viewer, just watching as everything happened.


i felt numb, not a new feeling, but one i still very much disliked.


and yet i don't feel satisfied, i don't feel good, only this numbness, the feeling of having accomplished nothing at all, because


i still feel helpless like i felt years ago, on the snow watching my world fall apart.


i had gotten up at one point and moved automatically, watched Luna be taken into the police car, gave a small hug to sam and chris, then i walked home.


this wasn't a game, it never was from the beginning, but does it even matter anymore?


because everyone who died aren't going to come back.


i locked the door behind me, the entire place was silent, no loki, no ace, no max. it was just me and it felt like i was feeling loneliness for the first time all over again.


i wasn't even able to make it past the living room before i was on the floor, staring at the ceiling.


for the first time since i had agreed to be a USD member, i wondered if it was all worth it.
