Jobs (1)

"It's a little shallow, and we can explain more in-depth in the future. Do you understand the concept?"

"Six elements; fire, ice, thunder, wind, light, and darkness. Of these six, I have an affinity with fire, thunder, and darkness."

"Hmm. It's hard not to understand if I explain it to you."

Luna nodded with satisfaction.

Are you serious? She had barely explained anything, but she seemed very satisfied with herself.

"But, that also means that your talent with the other three elements is nil."

"Why?"

"Look at the sphere, there are only three colors on it, while there is no trace of the other three. If the sphere doesn't show a specific color, it means that a person has no talent with that element."

"Let's put it another way. You have 100 talent points, and you have to distribute it among the elements. In your case, that would be 40 points for the Darkness element, another 40 points for the Fire element, and the last 20 points for the Thunder element. Of course, this issue is not so simple, but it serves for a brief explanation."

Oh, so Luna-senpai knew how to explain easily.

"Do you have any doubts about the elements?"

Egun shook his head.

"Well, now I'm going to talk to you about the jobs."

"A job is a title that any user of magic receives. These are not simple 'titles'; as depending on the title, you will receive an increase in your attributes."

"Wait, wait."

Egun interrupted her.

"What's going on?"

"Before you tell me about jobs, shouldn't you tell me about attributes first?"

Luna looked at Egun, who was looking back at him. He was momentarily surprised, was that blush on Luna's face?

"Ehem, I suppose you're right. Even the most prominent ones have faults."

She coughed to dispel her shame. She went into business mode immediately.

"There are a total of seven attributes. Health or vitality, physical attack, physical defense, magical attack, magical defense, dexterity, and agility. I don't think you need to explain it, do you?"

"No, I think it's pretty clear."

"Well, let's get on with the work. Each job enhances some or all of these attributes. It also shows you which weapon is best for you."

"Arthur, bring me that other thing."

"Yes!"

Arthur got up again. A thought went through Egun's head, was Arthur Luna's errand boy?

He opened a different closet this time and pulled out what appeared to be a scroll. The color of the paper was yellowish, and it seemed a little wasted.

He left it once more on the table in front of Egun and Luna.

Seeing that he Egun was going to ask again, Luna stepped forward to explain.

"This is a 'job papyrus'. It has a function similar to that of the 'elemental catalyst'. It will show your work and statistics."

As with the crystal sphere, Egun looked at the scroll Arthur had placed in front of him. Again, he was unable to see anything extraordinary in the scroll.

This time he didn't doubt so much as with the crystal sphere. He was new in this magical world, so it was normal that he didn't understand many things.

"Is the process the same?"

Luna nodded, and Egun placed the palm of his hand on the scroll. This time, he didn't close his eyes to see the whole process.

By not closing his eyes, Egun saw it. It was no color, but Egun could see the transparent aura that came from the scroll. Letters began to appear, forming a table of numbers. At the end of the scroll appeared a symbol in the form of an armored man.

"Give me that."

Before Egun could see the scroll, it was taken away by Luna. She looked like a curious cat wanting to discover Egun's statistics.

Luna's eyebrows rose slowly. Surprise gasps were constantly coming out of her mouth. She continually murmured, "As expected of a Prince" or "As expected from a Lucifer".

Until she reached the end of the scroll, Luna's beautiful crystalline eyes contracted.

"How can this be possible!"

"Let me see!"

Ketsumiko Kaori snatched the scroll from Luna. The latter looked between the scroll and Egun before sighing.

"Unbelievable! These statistics are unbelievable despite not having started practicing magic yet! His body has reached the limit of the human, even surpassed it in not only one, but in several aspects."

Kaori, who was examining the statistics, did not stop praising Egun. Was it as spectacular as they were saying?

"Let's see his job... Gods! How can this be possible!"

Just as Luna had done when he reached the last part of the scroll, Kaori's eyes contracted in disbelief. She looked at Egun and sighed.

"Here, look for yourself at your statistics."

Egun took the scroll and read it carefully:

Health: 118

Physical Attack: 42

Physical Defense: 29

Magical Attack: 39

Magical Defense: 30

Dexterity: 62

Agility: 51

The symbol remained the same, a man in armor. There was another symbol beside it that Egun had not seen before, a spear.

"The numbers are very good written and all that. But I don't understand anything, you know?"

Egun looked at numbers like the one who looked at the economic accounts of the State without knowing anything about economy. Were these numbers high, or were they low?

"President, can I explain now?"

Kaori said to Luna.

"Yes, of course."

"Thank you."

"Egun, your statistics are excellent. Of course, they are spectacular if you compare them with those of a normal human."

"Let's start with health. An ordinary human would have between 75 and 90 points, which correspond to the current life span of humanity. Only exceptional cases exceed 100 years, and very few of those exceptional cases exceed 110 years. For example, the man who lived the longest died at the age of 116, and the oldest woman died at the age of 122. In your case, if you hadn't suffered any fatal accident, you would have lived to the age of 118."

"Next would be the physical attack. This is even simpler. An adult man would have a physical attack of between 15 and 20 points, and a trained man would reach 30 at most. The human limit would be in the 35, to which people counted with the hands of the fingers have arrived. But you have reached 42 points of physical strength, surpassing the barrier of the human by many points. That is to say, you, Ryujin Egun, have broken your limits and have surpassed the mortal with respect to physical force."

"Physical defense is your body's ability to withstand physical blows and attacks, as well as its harshness when it comes to withstanding knife and fire attacks. Its parameters are similar to those of physical strength, so you would be on the edge of the human. Although I don't doubt that, given the time, you would be able to break your limits one more time."

"Magic attack is the power your spells carry, the more magic power you have, the more powerful the spells you cast. Let's say, for example, the 'fireball' spell. If a magician with the magic power of 50 points used this spell, it would be weaker than the same spell being cast by a magician with 100 points of magic power."

"The magical defense is similar to the physical defense, only that this defense acts for magical type attacks. It acts as follows: If a magician with 10 magic attack points attacks a magician with a magic defense of 20 points, the damage of the spell would be half the cash since the defense of the second magician doubles the magical power of the first magician".

"In both magical attributes, the elements come into play. For example, if a fire magician attacks an ice magician, the damage he will do will be much greater than what he would do to a thunder magician. This is because fire is more powerful against ice, and is neutral against thunder. This also happens the other way around; if an ice magician attacks a fire magician, his damage would be less than what he would do to a wind magician."
