Once Ethan had left for school, Andrew closed the door and turned to Rachel.
"Who is Arnold Cooper?" he asked bluntly.
Rachel froze, her mind racing for an answer. "Where did you hear that name?"
Andrew held up his phone, the text message on full display. "I think you know exactly where. Now, answer me."
Rachel's heart sank. She knew there was no escaping this conversation. "Arnold is… someone I knew a long time ago."
Andrew laughed bitterly. "Someone you knew? That's a nice way of putting it. Why is he texting you about our son?"
"Andrew, it's complicated," Rachel began, but he cut her off.
"Complicated? You think I don't see what's happening here? Ethan isn't mine, is he?"
Rachel's silence was answer enough.
Andrew's face twisted with anger and betrayal. "I gave you everything, Rachel. A home, a family, and this is how you repay me? Lying to me for years?"
