Chapter 30: Arnold’s Perspective

Arnold sat in his office, staring at the framed photo of Ethan on his desk. He had only known his son for a few weeks, but the bond he felt was undeniable. Yet, the tension between Rachel, Andrew, and Ethan was spiraling out of control.

His assistant knocked lightly on the door. "Mr. Carter, your two o'clock meeting is here."

"Reschedule it," Arnold said without looking up.

"Yes, sir," the assistant replied, slipping out of the room.

Arnold leaned back in his chair, running a hand through his hair. He couldn't focus on work when his family was falling apart. For years, he had dreamed of reuniting with Rachel, of being a father to Ethan. But now that it was happening, it felt like everything was slipping through his fingers.

A knock on the door interrupted his thoughts.

"Come in," he said wearily.

Ethan walked in, his expression unreadable.

"Ethan," Arnold said, surprised. "What are you doing here?"
