Bestowal Unto Thee

Was your life worth the servitude and endless blood that you shed? Were the lives of all of those living worth the praise? Did you find satisfaction in death? Are you meant to be?

Selfish fool, you kill for the sake of killing. Your master is death, and you are her slave. Your family is life, but you are death. So why do you try so hard to become useful? You are just a skeleton that does not even belong in this blessed world.

So what if you are strong? An item produced by the world can still destroy everything that you have protected. An item such as that did take your tomb away from you after all. Your heart is weak, your will is selfish. You would sacrifice so many for the sake of one, so why would you abandon all that you have built?

Your brothers are left behind. Their deathly tears are the crimson blood that rains from the sky, the sea that has amassed of humanity. The ones that you called your kin have no one to look up to, you have left them when the most needed your guidance.

And you call yourself selfless. Why do you still push through in this infinite abyss of pain and regret? Do you want a change? Do you want a third chance? No.

Let your soul rot. It is not worth the trouble to even consider for a reincarnation. My child is ever too kind to help you, you are nothing compared to me. You are an arbiter of chaos; the destroyer of divine order. But you are touched by the will of the judge.

It does not matter what my opinion is on this matter. There will not be a third. You are no longer the Awakened One, Atlas, or Corvus. You are whatever the judge seems you to be. Besides, a name has never meant much to you?

"Shut your foul mouth."

So now you speak? What of it? You are still nothing to me. However, if the Judge desires it; you will become something. So do not fail him.

For now, the Judge has bestowed unto you a name. Discard the ones that you have taken before. You are now 'Gavel', as is your tool. Do not fail the Judge.

The light was gone, the abyss returned. A familiar claustrophobia returned to the skeleton, a sense of being trapped. Its bones were cold, propped up against a cold stony surface. Gavel pushed upwards, releasing a stone covering. Outside was little light, but Gavel could see the endless expanse.

A room that was filled with endless amounts of coffins. A familiar birth place was to be its witness. A scourge that was born again had returned to an empty and desolate tomb.

The tomb was abandoned as it seemed, there were no longer any brothers gathering to greet their youngest ones. There was only silence in this home. Gavel got out of his coffin to look around his old home, only to discover the remains of shattered bones and rusted armour all over the floors and walls.

"WELCOME LORDS, TO HE GRAND TOMB OF THE ANCIENTS!" A loud voice announced.

Suddenly a large group of noblemen and servants entered the abandoned tomb, inspecting everything that they found. They left not a single coffin unturned, creating a horrid mess. Gavel simply laid on the floor for the time being, waiting for his opportunity.

"Lord William, are you sure that there are no undead here?" A noble asked.

"Of course, these stupid undead are nothing to be fear-"
