"It's lunchtime!" A voice sounded from the kitchen with her hands busily moving.
With silence as a reply, she turned around and walked to the backyard. Looking upon the roof, she smiled lovingly.
"Honey, take a break, let's eat!"
The man was talking to another person, moved his eyes down. Seeing the familiar figure, his eyes formed two half-moons, dotingly smiled.
"I'll be down soon, it's almost finished."
When he came into the house, she was busily moving in the kitchen, it always makes him feel helpless that she doesn't listen.
He approached from behind and helped her carry the dishes as he kissed her cheek.
"I told you the maids can always cook. Why do you always do such tiring things?"
She smiled at him and urged him to quickly sit down. "You always compliment my cooking so I want to do it. Besides, I only cook for you, Sir Chen."
Chen melted into a pot of honey. He's becoming less of the North Pole and more of a snowflake in front of her.
"How's the roof situation?" Yifei asked as she put more vegetables onto his bowl.
"It's just a minor problem, it will be done by the end of tomorrow. I'll have Gad give them their payment when he comes back tomorrow. We would be heading to the palace by then."
Yifei held both of her cheeks and stared blankly into space. "It's been a year and a half since I've seen them. I wonder how they are doing."
"Perfectly fine," Chen said indifferently as he puts more meat into her plate. "There's no need to worry about those troublesome people."
"You only see them at most two times this past year. What if it's something serious you don't know about.?" Yifei scrunched her brows.
"We're visiting then tomorrow aren't we?" Chen naturally wipes the corner of her mouth with his fingers. "I already relayed what I needed through the crystal."
Their honeymoon was over long ago. After extending their "vacation" for Chen to do his work around the country, it's time to for him to return to his duties at the palace.
"But I have to go too?" She frowned at him intently, drilling holes into his eyes. Yifei felt awkward. She hasn't seen Anne for a long time since that argument and she doesn't really have any special relations to the place.
Chen rested his head with his hand. "Of course, you're my wife. If I don't go with you, who else would I go with? I don't do things with others carelessly." He slowly glanced from his food to her face and smiled mischievously. "And that includes Bed room matters as well."
"Eat." Yifei quickly stuffed his face with bread.
Chen helplessly chuckled. "Okay, okay I won't tease you anymore. As for our attire, we should get you a new dress. There's also a small lunch gathering with the nobles as well."
"But I already have a lot? You bought a dozen when at the beginning of our trip!"
"Those are just home clothing."
Feeling this conversation would be going in circles like always, Yifei sighed and gave in.
"Okay, but you need to save money, We've been spending nonstop."
"What would I even need it for if I don't spend it on my own wife?" Chen smiled.
Yifei's eyebrows scrunched, her cherry red lips pursed tightly.
Even though it's not much being spent, Chen ignored her glare, but obediently gave in. "Okay okay, we'll only get two sets."
He suddenly stood up and went to her side before putting his hands on her neck and under her knees, lifting her up.
"In order to save money for our children. shouldn't we also work hard on other issues first?"
Taken by surprise, Yifei slapped his chest as Chen headed towards their room. "You rogue!"
That's not what I meant!

After a series of knocking on the door, the man inside sat up straight and massaged his temples.
"Come in." He commanded lazily.
"Your highness, Sir Chen will be here soon. You can take a break now, I'll be checking these through before he comes."
The king sighed as he stood up and slowly made his way to the sofa. Within two minutes, he fell asleep.
After glancing at the king's eye bags, Gad began to read through the papers.
_________
The maids had begun busily preparing for today's gathering at the palace.
"Hey, I heard Sir Chen is finally coming back!"
"Really?! He's been gone for too long! So is Sir Alec." The other one squealed. "he's still in the Northwestern border."
It's been a long time since they've seen eye candy in the palace. Today's gathering is featuring many young nobles around the king's age.
"But isn't Chen married now? I heard his wife is ugly!"
The other maid slapped the other one's hand. "Nonsense! She must be pretty! Otherwise, I won't forgive her for shaming our Chen!"
"That's right! Our Chen needs a beauty to match him!"
"And what kind of beauty would that be?" A deep voice smoothly mingled within their conversation.
All the maids quickly turned around from their little circle.
The man's face was indifferent, yet laced with a hint of curiosity.
This man's attire was simple yet clean. The clothing was colored with a deep midnight blue and gold embroidery. It perfectly hugged his chiseled body. As for accessories, there were simple, small gold hoop earrings on his ears and a bangle on his wrist which gave him a very noble aura.
"S-sir Chen," The maids quickly bowed. He was not the delicate type; thus, they almost had a heart attack from fear.
"Continue on. What kind of beauty?" Chen raised his brows.
No one dared to speak.
"Stop scaring the poor maids!" A sound of clothing being slapped echoed the hallways.
"But I was just curious about what type of beauty you would be!" Chen turned around feeling wronged.
"No need for you to butt in, we need to quickly get to his majesty's office." The woman blushed. "We're late because of you!"
"He can wait for all I care. I just wanted to keep my wife company during her sleep, is that so wrong?"
Ignoring his teasing, Yifei leaned to the side of Chen's arm, her small figured slowly revealed itself behind his massive stature.
"I'm so sorry ladies, please do continue what you were doing." Her eyes curved upwards.
Hugging Chen's arm, she quickly pulled him up towards the stairs of the palace.
Chen just smiled at her and obeyed.
Yifei wore an azure blue dress with the same golden embroidery as Chen's paired with simple teardrop earrings and a matching necklace. A jeweled accessory covered her red flower forehead mark. Half of her face was covered with a veil, emphasizing her cherry blossomed eyes.
Though one can only see half, they can clearly tell her beauty is not to be fooled with.
The maids bowed once again as the couple left, not saying anything further as they would most likely meet their doom.
Only when they completely left, did chaos occur.
"My goodness! Did you see that?" one of the bunch squealed.
"It seems like sir Chen is wrapped around her hands!"
"She looked so graceful! I can tell she's super pretty!"
"She looks the lady from the engagement party a few years back. I can't forget her face! She was super pretty."
"Really?" Another one chimed in.
"Yeah! I was working around the tables when I saw her eating with Sir Chen, who would've thought that was his wife! But why is she wearing a veil?"
"What are you girls doing? Hurry up and get the tables ready before you all get fired!" The head maid finally came to check on them.
The crowd quickly dispersed. "Yes ma'am."
