Another transfer student

[Monday, Registration]

"Hello, class…" The teacher said as she walked in at the usual time of the morning. "More news for you all. We have yet another transfer student."

Oh, wonderful… another one. Wasn't Simon enough? All the transfer students have caused trouble. First Kaylee caused issues, then Simon made things awkward and now we have a new person? Who's next? Will they even join the main cast? What if they are a nobody?

"Howdy all!" In walked the transfer student with a cowgirl accent. A mature looking girl with what I can only describe as hair as if she had cut it herself. Her fringe is neat and she seems kind of cute.

"My name is Claire! I hope we all get along! I don't actually sound like a cowgirl I just wanted to make a good first impression." Claire, or at least that's what she just called herself, looked around the room at all of us who had very little interest at this point. She smiled at the class before taking her seat near us.

"She's cute," Ethan said.

"Shut it. What happened to your future with Kaylee?" I asked.

"Can I not call people cute?" Ethan said. "I mean look at her smile. She has one heck of a smile."

I guess he was right. She was cute, she didn't look about the same age as us. I'd say she is the same age as Simon. Speaking of Simon. Should he be here? Doesn't he have lessons?

As if by magic or writing. The door flung open and Simon who was covered in water from the pouring rain ran in.

"Sorry, I'm late." He panted. "I overslept."

Oh, silly Simon. He is more like me than I thought. A man who truly appreciates sleeping.

"SIMON!" The new girl called out from her seat.

"Claire? What are you doing here?" Simon said quickly moving to his seat next to me, causing the new girl to join us.

"Didn't expect to see you here?" Claire said. "How long has it been now? A few years?"

"About that, yes," Simon said not knowing what to do.

"It's been a while," Claire said reminiscing on the past. "I've forgiven you for all the things that happened back then."

"Right, Thanks." Well, this certainly is awkward. Ethan and I don't know what to do. Should we introduce ourselves? I think that's for the best.

"Hey," I said holding out my hand. "I'm Owen,"

"Nice to meet ya, Owen!" Claire said rather cheerfully, ferociously shaking my hand. "I'm Claire! Are you Simon's friends?"

"I wouldn't exactly call us friends," Ethan said under his breath as I hit him under the table.

"Yes," I said. "We are his friends."

"So Claire," Ethan said. "How did you meet Simon?"

"We went to Primary school together. We were in the same class for a while."

"Oh, I see." We continued to talk to Claire about Simon for a while. It seems she was rather fond of him and they seemed like close friends. She seemed happy to speak to us and meet new people. We told her about the others such as, Sean, Ruby, and Lily, who weren't here. I'm sure she'll meet them at some point but we just wanted to warn her about the demon Ruby.

"What subjects are you studying?" Simon asked.

"Politics, English Language, and Geography," Claire responded.

"Similar stuff to Lily," I said.

"I want to meet this Lily," Clarie said. "From what you've said she sounds really cute and I want to squeeze her to death. I also can't wait to see Kaylee again."

"Again?" Ethan said. "You've met her before?"

"Of course!" Claire exclaimed as if we should have known that by now. "We met a while back at a party!"

"Wait?" Simon interrupted. "You were at that party?"

"I'm kinda hurt that you've forgotten that I was there," Claire said monotonal. "But anyway. It was a long time ago now, back when we started Secondary school. Back before it all happened."

"What happened?" Ethan asked despite it being a topic they don't want to talk about.

"Oh, nothing really. We just had to go our separate ways, you know how schools are."

"Right," we said. I wonder if that was true. It didn't seem like it was true and it seemed as if Claire didn't want to talk about it. I can understand the schools separating people when you all go to a different place but it seems as if there should be more to it then just that.

"Simon." The teacher called out. "I hear you and Claire are good friends. Would you like to show her around the school in the afternoon?"

Simon was asked by the teacher, meaning he couldn't say no. No one would say no to the teacher. Especially our one who was the nicest person in the school.

"Of course I don't mind," Simon said as if he didn't have a choice. "I'll show her around the school and show her how great it is."

Ok, buddy… a little too excited there. Might want to tone it down a little bit…
