A Trip to Siberia

Boris looked at the unconscious man that is lying facedown in the snow. His eyes attracted by the mark on the man's right hand. "So you're the seventh champion." He muttered in a heavy Russian accent and kneeled beside the man. He turned the man over and saw the gaping hole on the man's chest, frost slowly spreading out from the wound. Though the frost can be attributed to the frozen environment, he knew it was not the case. The frost that is slowly spreading and freezing this man's body is a deep, dark blue in color. He frowned. "Must've been the work of that ice bastard" He said in a rough and deep voice.

He knew the man had at most, two hours left to live before the ice poison freezes his entire body. "Damn you William!" He thought of his friend who teleported the man. He sighed in frustration. "Alright, let's get this done with." He picked up the man on his shoulder and carried him like a sack of potatoes.

Grace ran barefoot through the streets desperately screaming for help, but she was bound to be disappointed. It's as if all the people nearby disappeared. She wanted to call the police but she left her phone in the apartment. So she did the only thing she could do and called out for help. She tried her hardest to scream out for help but her cries have gone unheard. She desperately called out for help until she collapsed from exhaustion, she sat on the sidewalk sobbing. She thought of Frank, his bloodied appearance and the desperation on his voice when he clutched on the mysterious man's leg to let her escape. The more she thought of it the harder her sobs became.

"What's wrong young lady? Why are you crying?" An elderly warm voice called out to her.

Grace jumped in surprise when she suddenly heard a voice, but she quickly regained her composure. "Please! Call the police! We've been assaulted by someone! M-my friend H-he stayed behind so I could escape! Please! Please…" She frantically said in tears as she broke down sobbing.

The old man smiled kindly and offered his hand to Grace. She took it and stood up. "No, that won't be necessary." He said as he tapped his staff on the pavement.

Grace was engulfed in a bright light and disappeared.

The old man looked at the apartment's direction and disappeared in a burst of light.

When the old man got there Frank was already in the verge of death. "Tsk! I was too late!" He said frustratedly said. He looked at Frank, he saw how dire the situation is. "Stay strong young Seven." He said solemnly and tapped his staff on the ground and a bright light engulfed Frank and disappeared.

The old man looked around the room and frowned. He would have gotten here in time if it weren't for that bastard disabling his long range teleportation and delaying him. "They're starting to move. I better call the others." He muttered. He tapped his staff on the floor and disappeared.

Grace reappeared in front of the antique shop. She was shocked at what happened, she was at the sidewalk near the apartment just a moment ago, but now she reappeared in what looks to be downtown. 'How is this possible?' She thought. She lived at least a good ten kilometers from this place, how could she get here in mere seconds. She shook her head and remembered Frank. 'The police station is just a few blocks away from here. I need to get help for Frank.' She thought. She started walking towards the police station, but a sudden bright flash of light that came from inside the antique shop stopped her. She looked inside the antique shop, towards the source of the light. She saw the old man she met earlier.

"I know you have many questions, but you can save them for later. Come with me if you want to see your friend." The old man said to Grace.

"What? Where is he? Is he safe?" Grace threw a barrage of questions to the old man.

"He is… safe for now, and as for where he is currently, I'm gonna take you there, but first I suggest that you wear warm clothes." He threw her some winter clothes. "Here, this should fit you, and there's some boots over there at that corner that you can wear." He pointed at a corner and said to Grace.

Grace was confused but she just did what he said. She just wants to see if her friend is alright.

"You ready?" The old man asked Grace, she nodded. He reached out his hand. "Grab on and try to stay still." He said.

"Wha–" Grace tried to ask but they were both engulfed in a bright light, and disappeared.

In front of a small cabin in the middle of Siberia, two people suddenly appeared in a bright flash of light.

Grace looked around and was assaulted by the frigid Siberian air. She was shocked. "It was you!" She gasped. "What was that? How did you do that? Is that magic? Where are we?" She, again, threw a barrage of questions at the old man.

The old man just sighed frustratedly, and walked inside the cabin. He was starting to regret bringing Grace with him.

Grace followed the old man inside. There, she saw Frank lying on a bed with a gaping hole in his chest. She was horrified to see the state Frank was in. "Frank!" she was about to approach Frank but was stopped by the old man.

"Do not disturb them! Doing so would only make the situation worse." The old man said solemnly.

She looked at the man sitting beside Frank's bed, both his hands are glowing faint red and are held out near Franks wound. You could feel the heat emanating from his hands.

"What is he doing to him?" She asked, concerned.

"Don't worry, he's helping your friend. All you have to do is wait for him to finish." The old man explained to her patiently.

Grace wanted to ask more questions but ultimately decided against it. She just stayed quiet and waited for the man to finish what he's doing.

After a few minutes the man stood up and wiped the sweat from his forehead. He looked at the old man.

"William! You bastard! Stop making me fix all your mess." He glared at William. He looked at Frank. "You're lucky the poison hadn't spread to his heart yet. Any later, then there would nothing that I could have done." He said to William in a heavy Russian accent.

"What? Poison!" Grace who heard that Frank was poisoned, asked and quickly moved beside Frank.

Boris looked at William in a questioning manner.

"She's Seven's friend, they may use her to lure him out so we need to be careful and make sure that doesn't happen." William explained. "They are making their move. We need to rally the others." He said solemnly Boris frowned but said nothing.

"For now we need to fix him up and teach him how to use his powers" William continued. "You're the one responsible for his training" William smiled.

"What? I've already saved his life! You don't expect me to babysit him do you?" Boris complained.

"Then how would you like to find the others instead?" William quipped.

Boris sighed in resignation. "Alright you win." He said in his heavy Russian accent.

"Besides she's staying here to help you take care of Seven." William said. "Oh! and why don't you train her as well I think she has potential." William said with a huge shit eating grin and disappeared in a flash of light.

"William you fucking bastard!" Boris shouted but William was already long gone.
