Cursed Faith

Kagura stood in front of Hayabusa's house, holding her umbrella. She knocked a couple of times but no one was answering, "That's odd, he should be home by now. Why isn't he answering?".

"Ouch"

Kagura heard a voice of a woman from the back of the house. She peaked from the corner of a tree and saw them, Hayabusa and Hanabi having another match. Hanabi was fast and flexible but her simple moves didn't stand a chance against Hayabusa's techniques, so complex and unique. Once again the battle ended with Hayabusa as the winner.

"Where did your confidence from last night go?" Hayabusa said, attempting to help Hanabi get up from the ground but Hanabi shrugged away Hayabusa's open hands.

"Tch. I don't care how many times I lose. I'm destined to become the next Supreme Grandmaster and be the strongest. I won't let a you get in the way of my faith" Hanabi said, getting back on her feet and dusting away any dirt that got on her clothes.

"Destiny? Faith? Oh please, there's no such thi-" Hayabusa paused as he saw Kagura standing behind a tree, "Umm... what are you doing there?" Hayabusa asked

"I-i was supposed to invite you to my mother's birthday party. But I see you're busy so I'll get going now!" Kagura gasped as she turned around, unable to face her friend

"No no. We just finished so I'm free to go" Hayabusa explained, walking closer towards Kagura and leaving Hanabi behind.

"N-no need! You just have fun with your girlfriend and I'll just tell mother that you're busy" Kagura said

"Girlfriend!?" Hanabi and Hayabusa object at the same time

"Oh please, this bastard? I wouldn't even dream of becoming lovers with him!" Hanabi said with frustration

"Who are you calling a bastard!? You're the one who wanted a rematch!" Hayabusa argued

"Rematch? So you're the ninja from Scarlet sect?" Kagura asked

"Indeed. My name is Hanabi." She said

"Mines Kagura! Nice to meet you!" Kagura said with a bright smile

"You are very cute..." Hanabi uttered

"Huh?" Kagura asked

"Umm... I said, you are very kind" Hanabi explained, feeling embarrassed at her words

"Oh! T-thank you!" Kagura said

"Okay, enough with the chit chat. Let's go to the birthday party" Hayabusa interrupted

"You should come too, Hanabi" Kagura offered flashing her another sweet smile

"I have nothing better to do so I guess I can tag along" Hanabi replied

"You sure you're not busy being destined to become Supreme Grandmaster?" Hayabusa asked jokingly shortly before being punched in the back my Hanabi.

The three walked towards Kagura's home which was not far from Hayabusa's house. They were met with a shocking and horrid scene. The door was broken down, glass scattered all over the floor, chairs and tables were flipped, and not a single family member remained.

"W-what happened!?" Kagura gasped in shock as she could only stare at the situation, her knees becoming weak.

"Look here" Hanabi said, holding a piece of paper with words written on it.

"Kagura, the Omyouji Master, if you want your family back, meet us tomorrow at the underground central and hand over the Seimei Umbrella. We'll be waiting until 3 in the afternoon. If you don't show up, consider your family dead" Hanabi read the paper out loud, clenching her fists.

"You don't actually plan on going alone, right? At least let us come with you" Hayabusa said with a concerned look on his face

Kagura didn't even give an answer. She wanted to think rationally but her anger made her unable to do that. She gripped the umbrella and turned around to see her two companions looking concerned. "Please, give me some time. I need some time to myself for now..." Kagura uttered as she walked away from the house. The two wanted to stop her but their consciousness told them to let her be.

Kagura arrived at a lake. The lake was so clear, it gave a reflection similar to how a mirror would. The view could make even the person with the most chaotic and broken mind feel calm and peaceful. It was so quiet you could here the fish kicking the water with their tails.

Kagura would always go here whenever she was reminded about her faith, being chosen as the rightful owner to the Seimei Umbrella, a powerful weapon capable of unleashing thousands of spirits made by the almighty Seimei himself, only the best of the best of mages is able to control it's powers. But of course, great power comes with great danger. Kagura was always targeted since she was a child by corrupted people, envious of the power she holds. Now, even her family has been put danger.

Kagura sits down near the lake letting her hands fiddle in the water, tears rolling down her cheeks.

"I hate this damn umbrella..."
