UNKNOWN|FIRST RECON|UNKNOWN

2000 km from C.S. Zephyr, Rage squad.

Two jets flying at mach 2 high above the endless ocean. Both jets sortied with HIS(High input signal) markers and multiple external fuel tanks along with light armament of cannons and 2 AAM(air to air) each.

"Rage 1, Rage 2 Report."

"Rage 1. Nothing but blue, fuel half to bingo. will continue on for another two hours, then RTB."

"Rage 2. Just flew over a bunch of rocks, no heat sig registered, fuel half to bingo, will continue for another two hours, then RTB."

"Understood, keep your eyes peeled, Lighthouse out."

As soon as one of the pilots ensured that Lighthouse had stopped paying attention, he started to talk with his partner.

"God this is boring, hey Striker, you wanna play a game?"

"Tanker just deal with it, you know they only let a few squads up into the air this time. Just thank your luck that we got chosen this time."

"I know, just when they said 'another world', I was thinking that it would be more exciting than just flying in a straight line for hours on end."

"Just shut up, we can't do anything other than stay on the flight path, we lost our supply source so what ever fuel we have is all we have. Until they figure out how to get a new source, we have to be as efficient as possible."

"Yeah yeah I know Striker." Tanker grumbled as he sank into his seat.

Silence took hold of the duo for a while as they continued forward dropping markers every so often to create a grid which would connect with the other recon teams once they land back at the carrier. An hour later, Tanker broke the silence.

"Hey Striker, look to your left, Ten o'clock. Can you tell me if i'm hallucinating?" Tanker spoke while rubbing his eye on top of his helmet.

"Uhh, I don't think your hallucinating, unless we both are. But do you see a mountain peaking above the clouds?" Striker responded, a little stunned at the discovery.

"Yup, that does indeed look like a mountain piercing through the cloud. I'm calling it in." Tanker responded as he switched his radio frequency to Lighthouse's frequency.

"Lighthouse, Lighthouse. This is Rage team. Reporting massive land mass in our sector break. Large mountain peak reaching above our current elevation break. 3765 kilometres away from nest, 32000 meter elevation break. Requesting further instructions over."

A brief silence took over the comms post and the command center before a response was given.

"Roger Rage team, redirect vector towards the mountain and descend until the base is in visual sight, once there, initiate the phantom pulse scanner (fps) and report back immediately. Continue following established rules of engagement (roe) over."

"Understood all Lighthouse, Rage team beginning descent. Out." Tanker switched back to the squad freq and begun preparations for the scanners and descent.

"Looks like things are going to get more interesting Striker."

"Sure looks that way, but be careful, we need to be ready for everything. I'll take over-watch position and you'll do the scans." Striker assigned the roles the two of them will take and restated the ROE(Rules of engagement). "Rule one, do not engage unless fired upon. I'm sure you remember what that means. Rule two, try not to threaten the local populace if possible, we all want a peaceful encounter here. And rule three, if needed, drastic measure may be taken should the need arise."

Long fields could be seen stretching across the land surrounding a small peaceful village. Many people could be seen tending the crops and children playing among themselves weaving through the fields.

Unknown to all the residents, high above the clouds were two objects slowly approaching them.

"Tanker, down below. 11 o'clock. Looks like a farming town."

"Don't see a town striker, but I do see a lot of fields. Where is the town?"

"In the center, surrounded by all the fields tanker, can't you see it?"

"Striker, do you know how little that narrows it down? Wait, I see it now. Follow me in, starting the scans. Call it in to Lighthouse, see what else they want us to do over here."

"Wilco, switching freqs... Lighthouse Lighthouse this is Rage team. We have visual on a settlement in our sector break. We are starting scanning runs at this time. Do you have any further instructions for us? Over."

Back at the ship, Intel lead officer Alex was handling the data being sent from the deep water mining sub and the occasional report from the Long Distance Scout Groups (LDSG). He was writing a report to be sent back to Admiral Vardan when a transmission broke his concentration.

"...Lighthouse this is Rage team. We have visual on a settlement in our sector break. We are starting scanning runs at this time. Do you have any further instructions for us? Over."

Putting everything aside, he responded to Rage team while waking up the other intel officers.

"Confirm Rage team, visual contact on settlement?"

"..." Empty static noise responded to him.

"Rage team, come in. Confirm visual contact on settlement how copy?"

"..." More static.

"Shit"
