Hoseok's week had been nowhere near normal. Nothing in his life had been normal when he came to think about it. It was all because of his family, his name.
He tried his best to ignore them, but it wasn't the easiest thing to be the only child in the family, which meant much more attention than he preferred. He often wished he was born into another family, or that he magically got switched at birth and grew up with other parents. He felt more cursed than blessed.
He tried his best not to mention his problems to anyone. Something that could be quite lonely at times, especially when his family started to bicker on him to not waste his time on what he loved, to take over the family business.
If there was one thing he had sworn to never do, it was inheriting the company. Why was his family so wealthy? He had always thought they were too wealthy for their own good.
That's why he decided to save himself from the family drama and move out. There was nothing that made him forget all these loud thoughts inside his head. Not even his hyungs.
Hoseok snapped out of his thoughts when he saw a familiar brown head stroll down the hall. He hadn't seen her in a while. It had been two days since he last saw her. Not that he counted though.
He threw the black backpack over his shoulder, walking in the same direction. He tried to make it seem like he was casually walking down the hall, but he had a feeling he looked quite hilarious as he started speed walking, trying to catch up with her.
When he rounded the corner he saw her standing in front of the elevator, waiting for the doors to open.
Hoseok looked down at what he was wearing and nodded to himself. He looked rather good today. He stepped ahead, standing beside her. He cleared his throat to get her attention.
She was wearing her ear buds, blasting got7. He could hear her music from where she was standing. It was that one song that always got played on the radio. He never remembered what its name was though.
He smiled to himself as he saw her lightly bang her head to the beat of the song. He never knew she was the type to listen to music like this. Maybe she was a girl after all. He chuckled to himself, looking down at the floor.
"Is there something you want from me?" he heard someone ask from beside him. He didn't even have to turn his head to know it was Jae Hwa. He bit his lip, encouraging himself to play cool.
He turned to face her. Her black eye was now green and slightly covered with makeup, and the cuts in her face were almost gone. She had her hair in a messy bun, and had her ear buds in between her fingers. She raised her eyebrow.
"Did I say anything?" he replied with a slight smirk on his face. Jae Hwa rolled her eyes before inserting her ear buds again, continuing to lightly bang her head to her not so fancy music.
The sight of her smiling like this made Hoseok feel much better about all the things that happened earlier. Maybe she would be okay after all. A thought hit Hoseok as the doors of the elevator opened. Maybe he just had found his distraction.
