Excerpt :-
"Let me shield you from the rain, even if I couldn't, then let me soak in the rain with you",we're the words Brian told Lily on that night while shielding her from the rain.

 'I don't want anything more than that, more than you!' were the words that stuck in his throat but he couldn't voice them out. 

Lily looked up, and said, "You want to save me? From rain?" and laughed sarcastically "People who are already drenched, can't be saved. So don't waste your time".
And she left.

Brian slowly looked at the petite figure walking in the rain and sighed. He left his umbrella on a bench and walked behind her. He was going to stay true to his words, even if he couldn't save her, he'd drench with her.



Synopsis - 

Unlike others, her fight was not with others but with her own.
 Her own family whom she loved and cherished pushed her into the dark abyss with no return. 

Lily Jones, was the epitome of an elegant lady with a pure heart, but something changed her forever. Once a sweet little carring girl was now a stone cold hearted woman with now warmth in her heart. Or is it a facade just to shield herself from the vicious world. 

But even this cold hearted woman had a die hard admirer, Brian Green. The youngest and most respected cardiac surgeon in Country A. 
Will he be able to thaw the cold heart of lily? Or will he be left with a burn for the rest of his life?

Is a love story really possible amongst the two people with opposite personalities, a famous doctor and a fierce businesswoman?
What will the fate bring to the lives of one who doesn't believe in love or affection, who only believes that every thing had a price while the other who is the epitome of happiness, who's life depends on love.
 
Will both of them fall in love? 

Or 

Fate will play a cruel joke on both of them?

No usual plots but a simple story of two people who will go to lengths just to be together.

Her Bane or Destiny ?

As soon as Lily reached home, she turned around and said, "Are you okay mother? Sorry, you have to meet those people again because of me." 


"I guess I'm fine, it didn't hurt as I expected it to", Lily said with a somber smile on her face.


"Don't worry darling, You did great. Mom is proud of you. I never thought my little angel could be this brave." Flora said, while her palm on Lily's face and caressing her cheek.


"What option did I have, or Us have, other than being brave." 


"Now, just take them out of your head, and let me know what you wanna eat?" 


Suddenly Lily's eyes were filled with happiness. Yes, Food was her happy place. It's what made her happy. 


"And a chocolate cake", lily said while fidgeting with her fingers. 


"What, what chocolate cake? You know you can't eat that!", suddenly a voice ranged in her ears and she eyed her friend with a sullen face. 


"Why? Why can't I eat some? I've been keeping my sugar levels in range, I work out daily, and today is my cheat day!" Lily whined like a little kid. 


Amelia and Noah along with Flora burst into laughter. They loved this side of Lily, where she behaved like a little pampered girl. 


It's very rare for them to see her act as this way, specially after what happened in the past!


If any of her employee saw her like that, they would probably die of shock. It's very rare for her to smile. She was been given many names like, Ice witch, The Devil and what not! 


But if someone saw her now, all they will see was an innocent girl whining over a chocolate cake.It was a sight to behold. 


Too bad, not everyone can see her like that.


Lily knew, they loved when she behaved this way, hence, she did a once a while just to make them sure that she is doing fine. 


But, she has to play her part properly, and it won't be a lie to say, she felt better this way, more relaxed and happy! 


"Amelia, would you do this with me? How could you be so cruel? Just one piece? Huh?" 


Lily said this to her friend with puppy eyes. As soon as they saw this, they burst out laughing again! 


Lily pretended to be angry and walked in small steps towards her room. 


At that time, Amelia ran towards her and hooked her arm in her neck and said, "Do you think I don't know you? It won't work on me" 


"Fine, I won't eat. Happy?" Lily said grumpily. 


"I said, how can you eat that?    Alone?" 


Lily got hold of a cushion on the couch and she ran after her friend. Amelia ran for her life. She knew she is done for today. You can't joke with her food. But anyway she was loving it. She loved to see her happy. 


While these two girls were busy chasing each other Flora and Noah were just smiling. 


Suddenly Noah said, "Let's go aunt, I'll help you with cake" 


"It's okay son, why don't you go and check on these two? I'll just come with your food" 


Flora knew, even Noah wanted to join the fun but he didn't because of her. He is such a good child. 'I hope one day lily finds a guy like Noah',She thought. She knew Noah liked Amelia and she wanted both of her daughters to be happy. 


Deep in these happy thoughts she went inside the kitchen. 


While on the other hand, Noah was trying hard to stop those girls who were cushion fighting and suddenly he stopped in his tracks as both the women looked at him with the same gaze. He knew what was going on in there heads and before he could run, a cushion came floating and hit his head. 


And that's how started another war of cushion fighting. 


Who would have thought three of the most influential people in the city could behave this childishly and one they were done they lied lifelessly on the floor with cushions all around them. And in that condition they are their noodles and cake happily. That was one of the best dinners they had.
