A/N: Just to make it clear I'm basing this kind of near the beginning of BTS's career when they were popular but not TOO popular, and they could drive themself around and go places without being noticed and such.
Vocabulary: Ne = Yes/Yeah Ah ni = No
[Sujin POV]
"Sujin!" I heard Ae-Cha scream from the bottom of the stairs.
Now what?
I was already in trouble for several things, so I could imagine she had found another thing to scold me about. I could even think of a few off the bat. For one, I had talked to the boys when I was grounded. Maybe I had done something wrong when I had set up the chairs for them. Maybe the boys told on me, saying I was rude (for an odd reason I didn't know of, I had been polite when they had entered), or Ae-Cha was thinking of another chore or punishment since I was grounded. Either way, I didn't think it was going to be good.
I wanted to be respectful, especially since I was pretty sure that the boys were all still there, so I got up off of my bed and dragged my way down the stairs where everyone was.
"Ne, Ae-Cha?" I asked, bowing to the boys.
"These boys would like to take you out for the day." She stated.
I stood and stared at her, waiting for her to say she was kidding or to explain why this was my punishment. Maybe she meant I was going out to help one of the kids move to the boy's home.
"What?" Was all I said, hinting that she could continue.
"Just for the day. They've got an extra seat in the car and they plan to go to the aquarium."
I tilted my head to the side.
"To do what?"
"Just to have fun." She shrugged. I couldn't piece anything together. I wasn't being punished?
"But I thought I wa-" She cut me off before I could continue, knowing the boys were right in front of us and she didn't want them to know I was grounded.
"You do so much for us, these boys didn't end up finding someone to adopt today, so they wanted something to do and I thought you deserved a day off."
"Ae-Cha, what have I done to deserve a day off?"
"Everything. You help with the other kids all the time and you never complain about anything. The boys wanted something to do and get to know what kind of child they'll want to adopt in the future, so they thought they'd get to know you."
"Oh." Was all I said as I stood and glanced at the boys. I still didn't fully understand.
"If you don't want to," Namjoon started, but I cut him off.
"No! I'd love to! I just am surprised, are you sure you wouldn't prefer any of the other kids here?"
"Yes, we're sure. We want you," Jin smiled at me.
"Oh, well, please, let me go get ready, thank you, I will be quick," I said, bowing, before sprinting up the stairs with glee.
As I got ready, I was wondered why I had been chosen. I decided to just go and see what happened and if I was going to get in trouble or something, but I tried to release the unhappy thought.
I didn't know what to wear, but after sifting through my closet and drawers a few times, I finally decided on a black pair of jeans and a gray turtleneck sweater. I grabbed my purse and threw in my phone with a few other essentials, and headed back downstairs where all the boys were waiting, ready to head out the door.
"Sujin, come here please," Ae-Cha told me from the end of the hall. I went over to her and the boys waited.
Here came my punishment.
"Yes?"
"You have fun today, okay?"
"Ne, Ae-Cha. But, why me? I still don't understand."
"As I said, you deserve it the most."
"But I thought I was grounded, so obviously not."
"I'm going to let that one incident slide, considering you're usually the most helpful here. Now go have fun, and be polite."
"Okay, Ae-Cha. Thank you." I said, hugging her.
"Go!" She told me, and I waved to her, running to the boys.
"Everyone ready?" Jin asked before opening the door and leading everyone outside.
"I don't think you've caught our names yet," Jimin spoke.
"Ah ni." I lied, not willing to confess that I had overheard them talking to Ae-Cha and introducing themselves earlier.
"I'm Park Jimin. Over there," he said, pointing, "Is Kim Seokjin, but you can call him Jin." I nodded. "Then we have Kim Namjoon, Kim Taehyung, Min Yoongi, Jung Hoseok, and Jeon Jungkook." He told me, pointing to each member as he said their names.
"Thank you, it's nice to meet all of you. It's so kind of you to take me out."
"Oh, it's no problem." He told me as he jumped into the car.
"Where should I sit?" I asked.
"Over here," Jimin told me as he patted the seat next to him cutely with a big grin. He was in the middle of the second row, next to Hoseok who was to the left of the middle row. In the back was Yoongi, Jungkook, and Taehyung, which left Namjoon and the driver in the front. I remembered they said they were a boy band, which explained the driver but I really didn't want to get into that yet.
"Where's Jin?" I asked Jimin.
"Uh, he is in the second car we brought. We thought we'd adopt someone and we only have eight seats in our car, which fits us and our driver, so we brought along another car for the extra person."
"Ah, okay." I nodded.
We headed off and everyone was silent. I was starting to feel uncomfortable, but then Namjoon started talking which eased the situation.
"So, Sujin, have you ever been to an aquarium before?" He asked.
"Mmmm, yes, actually, I have. A long time ago when I was in third grade, I think. But, I didn't see very much, since I got sick and had to wait in the bus for the rest of the day." I told them thoughtfully.
"Aw, I'm sorry," Namjoon responded.
"It's fine. I just seem to get sick a lot."
"Oh." Namjoon sighed, seemingly taking a mental note. He was probably wondering how many other children might have that problem and making sure they asked about that before they adopted children in the future. I mean, that was why they were taking me out today, to see what they'd want to look for later on. "So you did go to school?"
"Yes, up until last year when Ae-Cha agreed that I could be homeschooled because the oldest left and she really needed help with the younger kids," I explained.
"Sounds like you're very responsible." He said, and I smiled.
"What kind of things do you like to do in your free time?" Jungkook asked from behind, leaning over and putting his hand on the back of the seat.
"Oh, well," I started, trying to think of an answer. "You already know that I like to dance, that's a big part of me," I explained, and everyone smiled. It made me happy to see how much joy they had when I talked about it. "Music in many ways is very important to me. I like to sing, but I don't really like my voice… so I try rap sometimes." I said, starting to blush. I didn't really talk to strangers this way, but to be honest I didn't really talk to strangers at all.
"That's interesting," Yoongi said from behind, and when I looked back I noticed his earbuds were out so he could pay attention to me.
"It's fun," I said. Yoongi nodded. "I also play the piano, there's one in the main room at the orphanage that we share, but I'm the only one that plays, so I either play for the younger children or I teach the others... I at least try to.." I said, and everyone chuckled. "So yeah, music is the biggest part of my life."
"That's great, we all happen to love music just as much," Namjoon told me. I smiled.
"Hyung, I want some music," Jimin said in a half-whine, bending over to the front row.
"Okay, you choose. If I try I'll break the new Bluetooth speaker we have in our car." Namjoon joked, tossing his phone to Jimin who caught it perfectly. "Pick anything." He told Jimin, earning a huge grin.
"Anything, hyung? Okay, I'll choose." Jimin muttered to himself, scrolling through the options.
"Hey, make sure Sujin likes what you choose," Hoseok told Jimin, who instantly looked up from the device at me.
"It's fine, I like anything," I told him.
"You sure? You seem pretty dedicated to your music."
"Yeah, I'm fine."
"All right." Jimin chuckled right before the music started playing. I instantly smiled, recognizing what was playing. They all stared at me, and I just grinned back.
"It's your song, Sujin." Taehyung smiled.
"It just happens to be my favorite too," Jimin said, sliding the phone back to the elder. The song was called DNA, and it was the dance I had been doing when the boys had walked in. I leaned back in the seat and listened. Everyone became quiet, and I watched the scenery.
A few more BTS songs popped up through the list along, but we all just enjoyed it and listened.
