Chapter 10

"Who are you?", Jaime asked, subconsciously he more or less knew that he was in deep trouble now.

"Luthur Pendragon, Radiant Knight Captain of Tenth Division. Come meet your maker!", with a swift movement Sir Luthur unsheathed his sword and stabbed towards Jaime.

"Protect me from my enemy: Dark Shield", Jaime chanted and a spherical shield arose that enclosed him. Although Jaime had not perfected this spell yet as it was still in its basic form, nevertheless he could only resort to this move as the knight before his was quick in his attack.

Sparks flew out as Sir Luthur's sword clashed with Jaime's shield. The exchange lasted for a few moments before Sir Luthur's sword shone with a white light and tore apart Jaime's shield.

Jaime tumbled down and retreated a few metres, "Weren't you a Knight? How can you use magic?"

Sir Luthur smiled, "Although you can use dark magic, it's too weak, at best you are only a four-tier mage. You should know that the Radiant Knights of the Church are all knights that merge magic in their attacks. Even the weakest of the Radiant Knights is at least a four-tier light mage!"

"-But I say, you are really unlucky, for I am even stronger than the normal Radiant Knights as I am a six-tier light mage."

Hearing this Jaime was frightened out of his wits. After obtaining and reading many magic books Jamie had a rough understanding of the strengths of higher tier mages. In a Kingdom like Andrusa, five-tier mages were the peak level experts and the amount of such mages were limited.

As for a six-tier mage? They were all respected figures that were close to the realm of Grand Magisters! It could be said that throughout the continent, the sum of all six-tier mages wasn't more than fifty.

Jaime knew that if it was some other time, perhaps he would have fallen here but not today, not now.

"You want to kill me? It depends if you are capable of doing so! Fog of Darkness", Jaime quickly casted his spell and soon a dark hued fog spread uniformly throughout the area, he then didn't hesitate to make his escape.

"Cheap tricks. Holy light shine through the truth and delusion, Light of Heaven!", Sir Luthur shouted as rays of light shot out from him like homing missiles and in the next moment the Jaime's spell was cut through like paper. Jaime hadn't been able to escape far and by stroke of misfortune, one of light rays from Sir Luthur's spell ended up striking his back. A never before experienced pain was felt by Jaime, although he was now just a skeleton and should have been immune to the pain, a light element enforced attack was capable of making him vulnerable. Resisting the pain, Jaime made a haggling escape away from Sir Luthur.

Elsewhere in the lumberry forest, a small group of mages could be seen following behind the Radiant Knights led by Jake Gyllenhaal. Although their speed was slow and they lagged far behind, they still managed to follow them.

Crimson Stark stood alongside Raymond Roy as they looked towards the west, judging by the direction the Radiant Knights were heading, they had long guessed that the evil creature was definitely in the western part of the lumberry forest.

Charlotte, who had lost her twin sister under the evil hands of the vile creature had decided to accompany her grandfather to witness the creature's demise.

Being five-tier mages, Crimson and Raymond were able to keep up with the Radiant Knights' horses but the same couldn't be said for the two-tier mage of their group: Charlotte.

Seeing her pale face as she kept casting spells to fasten herself made Crimson frown. After a moment of consideration he finally spoke, "Let's take some rest here."
