Chapter 9: on the hunt again

Angelina and Cecile were in the back of the car, frustrated as they could not figure out any way to kill this Volkar except for one small idea that could also potentially get them killed. They let Volkar finish his goal, and if their lucky and luck is all they have left, then Volkar may leave Damiens body and potentially Damien will remain alive, potentially. They had nearly made that their final decision, and as they almost reached their verdict Amelia got their attention by saying,

"Guys there's something in the parking lot of the asylum." Angelina and Cecile both look forward trying to examine what it was,

"Has one of the patients escaped?" asked Angelina trying to see it clearly. Cecile takes a good look and then expands her eyes in both shock and relief,

"Not just any patient, the only one who's powerful enough to do so. It's Damien." she responds.

While Damien knew who the individual driving the car was, Volkar did not and as the car approached Volkar looked over to the electric fence surrounding the asylum. It took barely a second for Damien to know what Volkar was planning, as Volkar used the little magic he had to unwrap the electric wire and forced it to head straight for the car like snakes quickly descending from trees to strike a rat on the forest floor,

"Volkar NO!" Damien shouted while using a small amount of strength that he had to quickly take control and make Volkar lose control. While most of the wires crashed to the side or in front of the car one of them ricocheted off the top of the car, electrocuting them for a second and causing them to drive off the road and into a ditch to the side, another one ricocheted off a rock and into a tree catching it on fire and cutting it down onto a power line pulling down the poles and slowly making their way to the car on the side of the road. Damien now in temporary control and somehow having Volkars magic in control he used the electric wires to hold up the pole enough to get to the car, rip off the top and throw the three girls out onto the road and to safety. Damien then lost control and Volkar cleared away from the car as he let the electric wires drop the pole and wires onto the car and the electrocution blew up the car as Volkar slowly turned his head and followed with the rest of his body surrounding himself with and armada of electric wire snakes as the explosion ignited behind them. Angelina stood up ran up to Volkar and looked him in the eye,

"I know you have some sort of evil plan to enact, but I need to speak to Damien not even for that long, please just for a little bit." she pleaded to Volkar who looked away from her for a second and then noticed the top window of the asylum somehow still filling up with lava so he turned to Angelina and said to both her and Damien,

"You have three minutes, or less." he then twitched a little and then handed Damien the control he looked into Angelinas eyes realizing how much he missed their starlight shine. He was speechless all that he could do in response was just hug her and even that couldn't show how much he missed her, she hugged him back with tears in her eyes and held him close as she kissed him on the cheek as she whispered in his ear,

"I'm sorry this is all my fault.".

"No it isn't, it was my fault you were right I had changed I was not the boy that you loved and Volkar had nothing to do with that it was all me it was my choice and I never thought it would end like this." Damien responded.

"We actually think there is a way to stop him." said Cecile approaching them both, Damien looked at her and he could tell that she missed him just as bad and he came over to her and also gave her a hug,

"I missed you so much your the only family I have left."

"Same goes to you brother."

"Where have you been living for the past couple weeks?" asked Damien

"I've been with Angelina and her family, they're sweet but a little over protective."

"Minute thirty halfway point." said Volkar

"Sorry to cut this reunion short but I need you to tell me what to do." said Damien quickly.

"Okay so we could only find one way that this could possibly work." responded Cecile

"And that is?" asked Damien

"We think you should let Volkar continue and finish his goal because if he does there is a chance that he will leave your body with you behind." said Angelina

"Wait so I just let him take control of me and finish killing more innocent people."

"Damien what choice do we have we can't lose you not again, and this is how desperate we are. Please just try"

"Okay fine." Damien said with doubt.

"Damien I don't care if you have an argument we don't have the time for it, please just trust us, trust me." said Angelina looking directly into his eyes

"I do trust you, and time may now be running out for so I just want to ask do you forgive me Angelina?"

"I do Damien, no matter how different you became I know you were still the boy I fell in love with, and I do still love you."

"And you are still the beautiful hummingbird I fell in love with." Damien said to her as he pushed her dark brown hair behind her ear and kisses her on the lips at long last but this moment did not last long as Volkar rudely interrupted.

"Time's up Damien." Damien opened his eyes in shock as the windows to the asylum broke open all at once and began to pour out lava and shoot objects of fire and lava began to surround the asylum like a moat of lava and expanded slowly. As Cecile, Amelia, and Angelina stood back from it Damien twitched and Volkar then took control and ran off the road and down the road back in the direction from whence they came. As to be expected, it took awhile for them to respond to the alarm but the local law enforcement finally arrived and Damien rushed by them and this time they brought two helicopters with them. The helicopters and four of the police cars turned to pursue, the rest along with a couple of fire trucks came to the asylum to somehow try and stop the lava flow so far all they could do was hope for flow of it to stop soon. The police requested the girls to stand back and climb into the back of the ambulance but instead they ran to an empty cop car to once again chase after Damien, the rest of the police returned to their cars and then chased after them requesting them to pull over even though they never would.

Volkar now running as fast as he could somehow just barely outrunning the cop cars and they finally started shooting at him along with the helicopters, Volkar tried to dodge as many bullets as he could, and he managed to get hit by two of them. Now infuriated Volkar turns around and jumps onto the windshield of the first cop car and killed one of the cops on impact and pulled out the other one and threw under the tire and he turned the car to crash just on the side and as the other car tried to drive around it Volkar jumped onto the front left side and grabbed the tire and yanked it out. The car then screeched into the already crashed car the police in the car drew their guns and tried to shoot him he ripped off the hood for a shield and once they finished firing he then threw the hood into the police and cut them in half. The other cars then had to stop to this accident and Volkar continued to run forward until he realized he was still being shot at by the police helicopters. He tried to find a way to get rid of them but he was clueless and had no idea how he would get them off his back he then came across a barbed wire fence he grabbed the end of it and dragged it along with him. He ran backwards down the road and then used the barbed wire fence as a lasso and threw it at the helicopter getting it in the blades as they turned and pulled him up and towards them and the helicopter started to lose speed and then started slowly descending, Volkar then let go of the barbed wire and was flung towards the other helicopter and grabbed onto the bottom and pulled it down just a bit while the other copter crashed into the ground into a not so large explosion. Volkar then melted his way through the bottom of the copter, but the pilots began to shoot at him as he crawled onto the copter and had barely any cover he quickly got to work grabbing and throwing their guns out through the front glass of the copter, and melted the ceiling of the copter dripping hot liquid metal onto one of the pilots burning them as he lifted the other one into the blades shredding him apart and spraying blood all over the front of the copter. He took the joystick that controlled the helicopter and ripped it off and stabbed it into the other pilots head, the copter then began to spin out of control, the only cop car driving around the accident in the road which was the one stolen by the girls and they slowed down as they watched the copter spin out of control and crash to the road with a much bigger explosion. And yet somehow no one noticed how Volkar managed to jump out only bleeding just in a few spots and quickly stood up and got back to running this time on a mission but this mission was leading him back home.
