How To Scale A Mountain; Walk (Rewrite Finished)

Raspberry Island was calm. The sea around this island had in recent weeks adopted a more peaceful state. Why - nobody knew.

In the dense jungle of the island, two travel companions were standing in front of a pile of rocks. These were not ordinary rocks. From just a glance you could see they were anything but normal. They glowed in a mystical light, power oozed of every surface.

"So this is the material that will be used to build our castle. Neet. What is it?" Kurama asked. He was in a miniature fox form. Big, but not overly so.

"Magic stones." She says happily. Before Kurama can say anything, she interrupts. "I know, not a fancy name. But that is all they are. Stones infused with ridiculous amounts of magic. They won't break easily."

"I feel Iike even I would need a serious serious punch to destroy them." The mini fox squeaked out.

"Indeed. But that's to be taken care of later, for now, we need to leave or we're going to be late." Maleficent starts floating, not forgetting this time to grant Kurama flight as well. There was a certain incident a few days ago where he almost died because of her forgetfulness.

"Ah. You talked about freeing some slaves, that's today then? Where is this exactly?"

"You remember that massive mountain we saw a few days ago. We're going to the top." She said as she pointed West. "That way."

"Alright. I'll just follow you."

As they made their fast approach, Kurama's keen eyes spotted a tiny dot on the mountain, slowly moving upwards.

"Is that the guy you mentioned? Who we will be helping today?" He simply assumed she had already spotted him.

"Indeed. Let's go say hello." She sped away quickly.

On the side of the mountain, Fisher Tiger; a former slave, current adventurer climbed up the Red Line. His senses tingled and he looked up, but he wished he hadn't. Above him, standing vertically on the side of the mountain was two humans. One large, almost as tall as him and another little girl, not even half his size.

"Eh... H-hello?" Panic laced his voice unintentionally.

"Fisher Tiger. Today is your lucky day!" Maleficent spoke with a smile.

"How do you know my name?!" If he could he would have taken a fighting stance, but seeing as he was climbing, he had to settle for preparing to jump off. Would he survive the fall into the water below? Doubtful, but better than being captured again.

"You may call me Lady Luck! Actually, I demand you do!"

"And you should definitely call me Mr Awesome." The fox in human form said.

"Eh... What do you want? Are you here to capture me?" The defining moment was to see if he would take his chances with a jump. He was sure he could get away, despite how unsettling the large man felt. He was surely very strong.

Maleficent almost fell. "What? Are you crazy!? I told you this is your lucky day. We're here to help you infiltrate this place!" She sat down on the mountain, which looked utterly bizarre.

"Why? And you still haven't told me who you are. You clearly know who I am." His grip tightened, his muscles were tense.

"As stated. I'm Lady Luck. This one is Mr Awesome. We are here to help you. And I won't repeat that again so let's go." Maleficent stood up and started walking upwards. Straight up the mountain.

'How utterly bizarre.' Fisher thought. "I guess I appreciate it?" He looked to Kurama hoping for some clarification.

"Chap, I'm done trying to figure her out. Just follow her lead, you won't ever lose if she is on your side. Trust me one that."

"Alright. Let's go then, excuse my speed, but I can't... walk up the mountain like you two."

"No problem, we'll wait at the top."

And wait, they did. Maleficent and Kurama sat on the edge of the mountain looking out over the world.

"Beautiful. Even more so than when we first arrived. No wonder the people here think they are gods or something. Imagine waking up to this view every morning."

"Then we shouldn't take them to my home. That place can't be matched by any mortal world. It's so artistic it literally cannot be described. I mean that literally. The mortal mind can't comprehend its beauty; So only the people living there will ever experience its magnificence."

Just then, after hours of waiting, Fisher's hand? fin? finally touched the top.

"Holy crap, that was a lot harder than I thought!" He sat down next to them on his knees. His breaths were short and quick. "When did you two arrive?"

"Seven hours ago. You are really slow, chap." Kurama said cheekily.

You could see a vein almost explode on his forehead. He grit his teeth as he spoke quietly. "Not. Funny."

"Kinda funny."

"I agree with fox boy here. Very funny." Maleficent chuckled.

"Fox boy?" Fisher asked with a head tilt.

With a sigh, Kurama spoke: "My real form is a fox, a giant fox. I'm known as the demon fox where I come from." A grin split his face. "Awesome, right?"

"I guess. Not the weirdest thing I've heard of, but certainly up there." His body was drenched in sweat, but he was breathing normally again.

"The stamina of the people here are quite crazy. Climbing up a mountain in one go. That's impressive."

"That's thanks to my physique. Fish-men are born stronger than humans. But of course, there are crazy powerful humans as well, who I have no doubt could do this as well."

"Sure. I've seen a few." Maleficent said. One, in particular, was intriguing her.

"Excuse me, but shouldn't we get going. They have patrols even in these parts. Granted not as often as in the city itself, but we shouldn't be here when they come." Fisher spoke nervously.

"Sure. You go ahead and wait and when we give the signal you can sneak in and release the prisoners." Maleficent said.

"What signal? How will I know what it is?"

"Easy. Kurama." She said in the sweetest tone.

"On it." Kurama stood up, displaying his toned and large frame in all its glory. He lifted his hand and gathered magic. Soon a small black compact ball floated above his palm. "Let there be light!" He said as he released it toward the outer wall, from where Fished had originally planned to sneak in.

BOOOM

The night sky was illuminated by an almost impossibly large blast. A large portion of the incredibly sturdy wall was gone. Nothing left. The area behind had been intentionally spared as it led directly into the prison.

"That's the signal. Now go, free the slaves." Maleficent said casually.

"I-Impossible. Unimaginable. Unthinkable. Absurd!"
