The past will always find a way to haunt you.
274 AD
As Lark kept running while viewing, the once peaceful Village of Cinder turn into a sea of flame and smokes rising from every directions, screams for help and suffering could be heard around, as the faces of the people he was once knew were burned or decapitated as their bodies lies in the ground full of ashes, and will soon be forgotten.
_______
A few minutes earlier.
"Welcome back, Clark"
Welcomingly said Elena as she opened the entrance door to welcome her husband's brother.
"Good morning again, Ma'am Elena"
"Ahh!"
Amicably replied Clark as he stepped near to Elena and swiftly turned her around then placed a hand wielding knife near the artery of her throat, this was done only half a second before Elena could even react.
"Elena!"
"Clark! what is the meaning of this!?
"Isn't it obvious I'm taking your wife as a hostage"
Angrily yelled Lucas, who was still sleeping in the bedroom, who woked up when the door was knocked, and decided to check only to find his wife being taken hostage by his brother.
"And why would you do that? you fucker"
Lucas said as he calmly analyzed the sorroundings and unknowingly had a knife in hand.
"Whew! as expected of the "Demon""
"I couldn't even see where'd you got that knife from"
Good thing I salvaged the idea of assassinating him in his sleep, thought Clark as he began to sweat, but still kept a fake smile on his face.
"I believe you still haven't answered my question?"
"Now now, if you really want to know then I'll tell you, if you put down that knife?"
Threateningly said Clark as he tightened his strangle on Elena and put the sharp edge of the knife closer to her throat.
Should I throw the knife to his hand?
Nono, that won't work, in the end he's still an assassin and won't flinch from that.
"Alright, It's not like I have any choices anyway"
"Wise deci-!"
Instead of dropping it, Lucas decided to throw the knife on the head of Clark.
The knife's throw speed was so fast that even though the cautious assassin veteran knew it was coming, the knife almost hit his head and scratched his ears, then getting stuck to the house's wooden wall, to the blade up to the hilt.
"Whoa! Lucas? you bloody damn well know your position here, right?"
"AHH! IT HURTS YOU ASSHOLE!"
Clark smilingly looked at Elena and stabbed her legs making the latter scream in pain, as a meaning to tell Lucas, that he has the upper hand here.
"ELENA!!"
"Please stop!!"
Seeing that his gamble fail and his wife hurt because of his bet, Lucas kneeled on the ground and begged not to hurt Elena.
"Lucas" sob sob~
"Although I'm probably sure you already know I won't kill her, but don't forget that I can still do anything to her, okay?"
Yes, it is true that he can't kill her, because if he did so, he probably wouldn't even last a second to his raging brother, from the very first place, taking Lucas' wife was the way to go, because Clark knew he was no match for his brother's skills in terms of combat prowess.
Now all I have to do is wait for the knights to arrive and the others to take down this monster, thinking of this and taking the bounty of a million gold to Lucas' head who was framed to be the one who assassinated the King's only heir, Clark couldn't help but admire his plan.
