Two; Down

Damien had stared at his window watching his children play outside in the rain. He looked at Lenè as she had been on his mind for three days. He tried distracting his self, but anything that involved that would put everyone at risk. He rolled around in bed, holding down his shaking hand. He finally stood up and looked at his mirror. He looked back at a man he could barley recognize. His hair was drenched in sweat and his left hand shook uncontrollably. He lost focus when he heard Lenè yell "Go back inside!"

Damien immediately put on his coat along with a mask, and ran outside. "Lenè darling what happened?!"

She pointed at the alley way, "s-she ran there! Thosa ran into the alley!" Lenè without a thought ran to find her. Damien ran after her, they finally spotted her looking into the distance. "Thosa! You scared the crap out of me!", she hugged her tightly as her back was turned. "Lenè please be careful", Damien kept his distance . Thosa turned around with a bloody toy in her hand, after hugging Lenè . Lenè watched as a stranger looked back at her and walked away. The same blood on his hands but crust around his eyes. Lenè looked back at Damien silently with a horrified look on her face trying not to cry . Damien tried his best to stay silent as Thosa could hear "Keep your distance, don't say a word and follow me back to the facility".

They followed six feet behind, as they watched Damien got back into the facility. He came back out wearing a hazmat suit. Thosa had started to cry and gripped onto Lenè dress. "It's fine, I'll be with you", she kneeled. As they walked in, She saw everyone in hazmat suits. Lenè walked into a clear glass chamber with a bed and bedstand, she had removed the blood stained clothes and placed them in a biohazard bin. Thosa was across from her with a clear wall blocking them from each other. She turned and faced Damien as he could see her through the glass window. He talked to her through a speaker "Lenè".

"Yes Father".

"I love you", he sounded somber.

Lenè could tell he had been crying. "I love you too, father".

Lenè stood and looked at Thosa "She's scared, but she naps so easily".

Damien responded through the mic "I'm sorry I couldn't protect the both of you".

Lenè gave him a blank stare "When will you start then, father? Words mean nothing and action means everything".

Damien stared at her "I'll prove it to you, I promise".

Lenè sat on the bed in the corner of the quarantine room . "Devin needs to be burped, I gave him his bottle earlier".

Damien sat back in his seat "Please Lenè worry about yourself right now."

She ignored Damien but stared at him through the glass "Why are you covering your trembling hand with your other hand?"

He gave her a look of fear and sighed" I didn't think you noticed".

"It started shaking after the log cabin incident, am I stressing you out, father?"

"Please don't think like that Lenè", he sighed.

"It's a nerve issue, my father caused when I was younger", he continued.

Lenè walked closer to the glass and put her hand on the glass "If I die…

For the first time she saw Damien's tears "Don't you dare say that".

"If I die… I love you, tell the children I love them too, I'm going to head to bed father".

"I love you too, night Lenè".

"Night".

—————

Damien couldn't sleep that night, he dreaded thinking about both his favorite daughters dying. Though Lenè was his favorite daughter, Thosa returned all of his affection and hated being away from him. She would stay up to say "hi" after tiredness nights after work. Damien looked at his trembling hand. It was shaking worse than before, he sighed in annoyance. He grabbed his phone "So you have Alice? Mm, Okay. Is she tested ? Great. Bring her over here, make sure she gets here discreetly, okay, bye".

In around 20 minutes Alice was in his bedroom wearing a coat.

"After your little Quid Pro Quo, you want me back in your bedroom?", She sounded angry.

He threw off his shirt"I'll give you 50 thosand , I need this right now".

"Mm, fine this is only for the money", she spoke in Swedish.

She kissed Damien's lips he moved his hands down and removed her sweatpants. In the moment he ripped her shirt off and unhooked her bra. Alice smiled as he gave her hickeys. She moaned in his ear as he entered inside of her. Damien glanced over at his hand as it lost its tremble. He flipped her over and had his way with her one more time before he finished inside of her. Damien glanced over at his hand one more time to see his hand had stopped shaking. He pushed Alice away and leaned against the wall, panting. Alice stared at him with lust in her eyes. She stood up and fell on her knees by Damien "I would like to satisfy you one last time".

"Mm", Damien finally felt better.

A sudden knock came at his door"Damien please! Please come out! She can't breathe!!!Fuck! Fuck! , Noah had cried.

Damien… she has no pulse."

Damien pushed Alice off, and threw on some shorts. "Stay here!" He yelled at Alice.

He left the room, and ran down the hall. Noah ran with him "Lenè was crying for hours, I couldn't hear her until I woke up to use the bathroom".

Damien fiddled with the keys until he had opened the room door. Lenè was sobbing hysterically, barley catching her breath. Damien approached the clear glass room to see Thosa had been lying in a pool of her own blood from the other side.

He quickly looked at Lenè, but she hadn't experienced any symptoms of the virus, only symptoms of a panic attack. Damien put on his hazmat suit.

He kneeled looking at his daughter's dead body. "Noah, I need you to get a small body bag, cause of death is internal hemorrhaging, approximately three hours ago."

Damien surprised himself saying that, he looked at Lenè "You've been screaming for three hours… Lenè…"

She was still shaking, struggling to breathe "l saw her die… father", she started to sob again.

He tried to remain strong for her, pushing his feelings back as much as he could.

Damien shocked Noah when he entered Lenè quarantine room without a hazmat suit and he held her tightly .

"Father…", she cried.

He hugged her then shushed her "Right now, I only care for you".

He whispered in her ear "I don't care if I die as long as I die with you".
