"Damn it! Wake up. You are already 17 years..."
Before Lee Kai Wen's mother can finish her sentence, he stepped out from the car without any trace of his laziness from last year.
"I had grown up." Lee Kai Wen had told his mother before he closed the door and walked towards After School Tuition Centre.
Lee Kai Wen looked at the door to the classroom; the word physics still looked clean even after one month of school holidays. "It has been a while, I wonder how much everyone had grown."
Nothing…
When Lee Kai Wen entered the classroom, he saw all his friends are just the same way they looked during the last day of class.
"Hey, you have grown taller, no you had changed as a whole right?" Chong Xi Kang said casually at Lee Kai Wen.
Now standing taller than he used to, Lee Kai Wen looked at Chong Xi Kang. His black hair is now grown out longer as they danced with the wind; the biggest change to Lee Kai Wen is the sense of maturity that he gave off right now.
"After experiencing so much for the past month I had become a better man, no I am a true man." Lee Kai Wen said as his voice sounded deeper and sterner.
'What had happened in that one month?' Koh Zi Hong who is Hugging Hitomi-chan asked himself as he did not notice any changes to his character.
In the end, nobody changed at all except Lee Kai Wen. Curious as to why he is the only one who progressed he asked his friends. "Did you all not have any character arcs during the holidays?"
'Bastard, what kind of arc can make you grown into this?!' They asked themselves, but on the surface, they said to Lee Kai Wen that the author didn't plan anything for them.
"Hahaha, don't worry I will make all of you better characters, so your popularity will grow." Lee Kai Wen said with a charming smile.
His tone was carefree yet filled with power and weight like a quiet tiger. His past laziness is completely all gone which prompts his friends to ask him.
"Then what about your main character trait, being the lazy asshole that you are?" Chong Xi Kang asked as he started to feel like he was left in the dust.
The mood in the classroom turned heavy as the asked the most important question to any character, Lee Kai Wen hesitated for a nanosecond and then answered with confidence.
"Character changes with time. People will grow."
Lim Zhen Cong finally entered the classroom and looked at Lee Kai Wen's back; it was much broader than it used to be. His back constantly carrying the weight of being the main character.
"Sorry to burst your bubble, but this is a slice of life, a character doesn't grow off-screen!" Lim Zhen Cong said as he pulled out his back scratcher.
SWOOSH
SWOOSH
SWOOSH
PAK
Lim Zhen Cong slashed away Lee Kai Wen's long hair, gave him a good slap on the back and destroyed his shoes.
"Damn it you see through me!" Lee Kai Wen said in his original voice, his hair returned back to normal and his shoes are actually patted to make him looked taller.
LEE KAI WEN YOU BASTARD!
They all started chasing Lee Kai Wen round the classroom in anger due to them being tricked by the main character.
"What a nice way to start the year!"
End of week 50.
