Chapter 4

My dad looked at me confusedly .

I returned the same confused expression to him .

I glanced back at Mr. Clark Lint and my fate rolled out of his tongue .

" I want to marry her " his challenging gaze were fixed on me .

" You what ?" My voice came out in muffled whisper .  My brain had stopped processing . Why does he wants to marry me ? Does he like me ?He knows about my past , then why ?

Deep down , it all felt good . He was good looking , well established person . No girl would dare say no to him . But the fact that I don't know him other than his appearance , scares me a lot .

" I think that is impossible " my dad firmly stated .

" then I guess our deal is also impossible " Mr. Lint also stubbornly answered .

From the corner of my eye I saw dad's fingers curled into fist . Blood drained out of his face instantly . I know just what he is doing ...

" Dad , I'm fine with marrying him " I gave him an assuring glance . He doesn't have to do this .

His eye brows furrowed . " But i am not fine - "

" Dad its fine . This is the deal you've been waiting for so long . You can not just go around and jeopardise it , just because you care too much about me . I've always been fine , i will be fine , Dad . Sign the deal . Please. " I ended softly . His eyes were moving all over my face .

What is he thinking ?

His hands reached up to touch my cheeks . "But nothing is more important than my own daughter " he paused before he spoke again. "Gentlemen , i think , i need a little time " dad spoke without taking his eyes off me .

"Time of two days would be fine , if you don't have any problem " he announced again as he turned to look at them .

" or you can reconsider the trade . I'll give twice the money i am giving now . What say ?" Dad was never the one to go for the loss . I don't understand , why now ? He always traded me without giving it a second thought .

This is so new . In the mean time when i turned to look at the Lint brothers , the younger one had a smirk plastered on his face . Is this some kind of joke to him ? His vary face made me furious .

" We want none other than what we said " the younger brother spoke .

" You can take the required time you need ." The older brother spoke .

He then turned towards me . " In the mean time , I would like to take you on a date " does he thinks I'm his puppet ? Who is he ordering ?

I gawked at him at his randomness .

" We haven't sign the deal yet . So she is in no position to go on a date with you " dad spoke through his clenched teeth .

" Don't be absurd Mr. Walter . We don't always need certain deals for a man and woman to go out on a date . It's a free world and furthermore , I'm asking her out as out of the deal . " The older brother answered calmly .

There was a cool war going on between . I wasn't oblivious to that but I didn't know the reason either .

My dad looked at me with pleading eyes , that said not to disappoint him .
