Chapter 5

"You did what ? " Edna questioned with a naughty smile spreading across her face .

I narrated the whole story to her but she was stuck on that part . Like it was her favorite part .

" Yes . I said yes to him " I rolled my eyes .

" You sneaky bitch ! I love you . Oh my god I can feel myself tearing up " she wiped her fake tears and continued "finally , my girl is growing up . I'm so proud of you"

I face palmed at her . Instantly her face went sour , which made me smile .

" What's with the face I was just being a best friend ..." She shrugged .

" Yea you were " I rolled my eyes at her . I sighed . " You know , I'm really scared . I've never been on a date . I know I shouldn't because I've been with many boys . But I feel strange . And also this is the first time , I said no to dad . But I couldn't let him destroy this deal . I couldn't . I don't know if what I'm doing is right or wrong . I'm just scared "

" Oh sweety , everything will be fine . May be this is for something good " she took me in her arms and hugged me . I hugged her back .

" And your dad , will definitely understand . After all , it's for his own benefit . He has always been all about himself but all of a sudden , this change in his behavior is suspicious . I don't understand why he was so much against it ? It's his biggest deal after all ." She spoke staring right into my eyes .

" He just cares about me more . There's nothing suspicious " I brushed her off like she was talking absurd . But deep down I felt the same too .

"Yeah , who are you kidding , Alex ? That man only looks at you when he wants something from you . I know this is harsh but girl you gotta swallow it " her pointed gaze was challenging me . We kept staring at each other but I looked away .

She sighed . " Anyways , let's not argue over that . How about you tell me , what this Mr Lint looks like ? " Her eyes twinkled . Smirk was evident on her face .

I smiled at her childishness . I wanted to change the topic too so I smiled even wider .

I bit my lips at the memory of our first interaction . His sharp features had pierced my heart . I slowly described him to Edna . She was hearing intently .

Before , it has always been like , she would go on a date and I would throw loads of questions at her . And we would spend the whole night like that .

But today , it's the opposite .

We were talking and our topic changed from Lint brothers to her , seeing this new man . Suddenly I felt , bed vibrate under me .

" Yea... Wait someone's calling me " I searched the phone . I picked up as soon I found it .

" Hello ?" It was an unknown number .

" Hey , it's me " A heavy voice replied . I looked at the phone strangely . Like who says that ?

" Well , how would I know who are you . Have a name ?"

" Clark speaking " his serious voice came .

I frowned at the phone . Why is he calling me ? " Who gave you my number ? "

" That's not the point . Are you free tomorrow ?" He questioned , totally ignoring me .

What the hell ?

" Yea . Why ? " i spoke through my gritted teeth . I wanted to say no so badly but I couldn't.

" Okay then I'll pick you up around 10 am . Be ready by then "

" Wait , where did you -" and the line beeped before I could complete my sentence .

" That f*cking dimwit . Son of a b*tch . How dare he ?! Who the f*ck he is to F*ucking order me ?! " I shouted at the phone . I was furious beyond imagination . What kind of a sh*t head does that ?

" What's with the sweet tongue ? What happened ?" Edna asked as she came out of the washroom .

" You know Clark f*cking Lint called me and F*ucking ordered me to be ready tomorrow " I fumed .

" What the f*ck !" She giggled " I already like him " she bursted into fits of laughter .

I glared at her .
