Chapter 5 : Skills as a Spy Activated!

The next 4 days went on along with Lei Cui trying to sense Qi , getting fed, trying to learn the general knowledge of this world. But alas, her efforts in sensing qi were in vain.

Early in the morning, the entire family was up early in the morning because of sound of Lei Cui crying out her lungs as she was hungry as she slept for quite a while. Cui Xiu had fun taking care of her daughter who was cute as a button, she'd get her anything if Lei ever asked her, even though she got tired in the process she still loved it all the more.

Lei Cui still hadn't been able to get over the stump she faced while trying to sense spiritual qi present in the atmosphere's reiki. After trying for the fifth time or so, she felt that it was a waste of time to just go about the same method to detect qi, but it was the easiest and safest method to do so.

'This isn't working anymore ... Is it flawed?? No way that's not possible, as this was the method that everyone would use to get a rich amount of qi at the very early stages. Maybe I should choose a very basic technique.....'

After brooding on this issue for about a quarter of the day, Lei Cui changed the technique from Dragon Scale Body Technique to Mortal Grade - Hardened Rabbit Technique. Yes, the technique helps in increasing your body speed to that of a Hard Horned Rabbit.

This was the most basic technique that Lei Cui had, and it was also the easiest as you just had to take 2 -3 breaths after sitting down cross-legged with your back bending the front and back periodically after each breath and once you sense a cold yet soothing feeling, make it flow through all your meridians thus allowing your meridians to expand.

Lei Cui immediately went through this technique as she tried to sit down, crossing her legs and trying to straighten her back. It seemed as if this technique was made specifically for her, as her body had yet to develop, which made it difficult for her to straighten her back.

She continued to follow this technique for the following 2 days, yet it yielded no result. Defeated from this she dropped it for now as she believed that as her body had barely developed in the last few days, it could be possible that her meridians were way too small, that the qi couldn't enter them.

In the afternoon, after having her lunch, she entered the palace library to increase her knowledge of this world and its arts instead of trying to think of ways to cultivate.

She crawled into the library like an assassin as no one could make out that there was a little infant that was trying to get into a secured library. She crawled in between the soldiers and scholar's feet to avoid detection if anyone saw her in the middle of the hall.

The hallway from her room to the palace library was quiet long which made this journey arduous for Lei Cui, that her knee hurt and she felt like all the energy from her body was siphoned out the same way you would drink lemon juice in the middle of a summer afternoon.

The palace library definitely deserved its place to be called as so as it comprised rows and rows of bookshelves which were placed in a circular format. They designed the palace library like a coliseum.

With each step having books related to a particular section of Archaeology, Genealogy, History, Royal Affairs, Military Arts, Mystical Arts, Defense Arts and many more. There were books far beyond the eye could see, and books far from what a commoners mind could fathom.

Lei Cui went to the centre dais of the coliseum to have a view at all the sections of this grandeur library. This went without saying that she had to look up, holding her head high up. She sat on the dais and scanned through the names of the sections that were mentioned.

As she noticed the names, she came to realize that none of the words was truly written but was floating in middle air and would only appear when someone tried to search the name. This was bizarre as she tried her best to analyse to how this was possible as in her previous world they could find no such thing.

Ultimately, she thought it could probably be because of projectors. Well, let's leave this aside for now. Lei Cui looked forward and decided to first go to the History section. She needed to gather a minimum of knowledge of this world to progress and know how to cultivate. It was mainly because of the problem of not being able to sense qi she came all the way here.

The history section was in the first row and it contained books were over a million years old and were arranged according to in bookshelves which were classified into decades were on display.

Each shelf comprised over a hundred books, with each author having poured their own thought to the year or decade. These books, even though they were old, they maintained it as if not a single day had passed by since they got published.

Lei Cui just wanted to catch up on what had happened in the previous decade, so she went all the way to the last bookshelf which comprised recent events. There were hardly any books here, as it was the start of a new decade. The 1st year of the decade known as the Drac year. Lei felt that these people had a marvellous sense of naming.

The first book that caught her eyes named Rise and Shine.
