Chapter 6: Voice from Beyond

Author's Thoughts:

***Under normal circumstances you would never imagine that an infant could probably even be able to read, oh that's too forward. Even an infant being able to understand human language would be tough.***

- **** - **** -

Well, Lei Cui can't be considered anywhere close to being normal, so let's leave this shocker for her parents to find out .

The book 'Rise and Shine' written by Lou Shen, Lei Cui had just opened the book and read through introduction of the author when she suddenly blacked out.

.....

..

.

After a few moments, Lei woke up flabbergasted about what just happened earlier.

'What the heck is going on??? I just had a peaceful nap earlier, why did I end up falling asleep again. Was there someone there who knocked me out cause I wandered into the palace library?'

'But what in the world could they gain out of knocking a toddler who can't even stand on her own?' With a slight tilt of her head, she began pondering over this.

It took her a while to come to understand her current reality. Lei Cui looked around, only to find a vast space which looked liked it was over 300 miles(1000 Li), appearing to be an endless space.

This space caused a lot of doubts to get conjured in her mind.

'This seems to be a troublesome situation I got myself into.'

Feeling awkward as the misfortune she had always got from exploring into the unknown had followed her all the way into her second life too.

'I seem to have been teleported away to a sealed away spatial distortion?' Did I activate some hidden mechanism by touching that book?.'

'Well, at least there should be a way to exit from this space... it's not like the creator/ master of this space wouldn't leave an exit mechanism behind .'

'But where am I to search in this entire space, this is going to be taxing on my tiny feet for sure. '

*Sigh*

'Let me try using my soul cultivation technique.'

Just as she was about to release her soul energy in the form of threads, her tiny body took a huge toll because of the pressure in the vast space.

Her eyes were almost closed and just before she got kicked out from the space, she saw a blurry figure standing in the vast space.

Her mother, along with her father, wore worried expressions on their face as if the universe had collapsed when they came to see that their little angel had fallen asleep on the icy floor of the library.

Cui Xui came in rushing to hold her precious little girl as if she would disappear the next instant if not held tightly against her bosom. She started weeping as she couldn't find Lei Cui in her room.

They then brought the little angel to her room, where her mother placed the sleeping beauty back into her cradle.

..

.

After a full nap of almost 12 hours, Lei Cui opened her eyes. The first thing that came to sight was her mother, who had fallen asleep with her arms on the cradle. Cui Xui had been exhausted from over worrying about her why she was in the palace library.

Right beside her mother was her father, sitting on a chair that could only be seen as something a royal could afford to sit on, holding on to his beloved wife while thinking about something deeply.

As their eyes met, her father looked at her and was about to say something but realised an infant could not possibly have the answer to his question and neither would she be able to comprehend his words.

Lei Cui realised this just by seeing the handsome face of her father open his mouth to speak something and immediately close it.

She giggled at this thought, which attracted her father's attention.

'Oops, I think I may have done something absurd for a newborn baby. Hehe. '

As she thought this, a voice at the back of her mind spoke out, " Oh, stop talking to yourself already, I'm getting bored here all alone, being sealed away for 2 decades. I didn't talk to myself either. Now that you have finally brought me out, you ought to take some responsibility."

Flabbergasted by the sudden voice in her mind, Lei Cui was out of words. She had never heard about such an existence in her previous life, and neither was there any fluctuations in her soul as she had mastered all soul techniques that had existed.

"I am but a newborn baby, I can't take responsibility of myself. How can I take responsibility of you? Let alone moving around, I can barely even stay awake for over 3 hours." Lei Cui truly tried to pose off as a newborn baby although she had undergone reincarnation and she had lived the life of a peerless genius for 15 years of his life.

She thought the one with the childish voice was being unreasonable .

The childish voice sounded pitiful as he said, " Since you are still a newborn infant, I guess I can let it go for now. I'm not one who holds a grudge over minor matters either. Though you mustn't forget to take responsibility when you grow up into an ethereal beauty."

"Alright, let's keep this matter aside for later. If you don't mind me asking, who are you and how am I able to talk to right now?" Lei Cui could no longer ignore the elephant in the room and her curiosity towards this entity grew higher and higher by every passing minute.

The voice no longer sounded childish, now filled with pride and a hint of maturity, "I have very little knowledge about how I came to be, but I can tell you one thing for sure, when I came into existence, it is said that I could make the heavens bow down to me. But not long later, a bewitching man with great strength came and sealed me away as they defined me as an existence defying all the rules of heaven and earth. Ain't I great?"

'How in the world can it consider itself as great despite being sealed away when it was just a little baby or a little kid who had barely learned to walk on his own? This is the first time I've seen a kid boasting about itself in such arrogant fashion. Haiz, the kid sure has got some guts to keep himself high up on a raised platform.'

This arrogant behavior made her feel like this person could surely be a great scamster if not great in any other field.

"Hey!! I'm not showing my arrogance here! You wanted to know more about this great one here. If you have heard my name then you'd know of my unfathomable achievements." The mysterious voice sounded displeased by her casual remark.

"What in the world?!? You can read my mind?" This truly shocked her as it was the first time she had experienced it and seen someone being able to use such an overpowered skill.

"Humph"

..

"You have barely seen the surface of skills I have underneath my fingers, if you have ever heard my of name you'd be less shocked I suppose."

'Alright then, do tell me what you are named as.' Lei Cui started getting curious now and the earlier remark seemed to find itself a dark corner to hide in.
