Long Time No See

"Come on, let's go" Steph demanded.

Even though she wasn't used to being the leader, she made a great one.

Matt was shocked to the core by her actions.

It only made him think deeper about they were about to go through. His soulless eyes showed sorrow. Steph glancing back at Matt she knew he wasn't ready. Steph was so used to killing the ones she knew because she had to kill her grandmother after reanimating as a zomb.

Kit's face was filled with disappear, just as her skin being as pale a newly painted walls.

Spotting a zombie, Steph walked over to silence the monster they once called person.

Walking towards her was Kit, with a questionable yet scary look on her face.

"Stephanie...Why did you have to kill Tom" asked Kit.

"One, don't call me Stephanie" Steph shot back.

"Two, I didn't kill him...he was already dead, in fact dead and possessed" Steph continued.

"You did kill him-" Matt turned and said.

Steph walked over to Matt and kneeled down one knee. She put the katana on the ground next her and with a bloody look, she said

"Rule number two...don't trust everyone, not even the closest person to you"

"So that means I should kill you" Matt said with a great deal of anger.

"If you must...just don't be so absentminded"

Steph laughed it off and walked back to get her bag.

Humming a tune in the distance, was Kit.

This tune was not a song, but a spell to summon bad spirits into the area. Steph had a bad feeling about what was going on, but curious to see what would happen she walked closer to Kit.

"And the souls shall come back...soon"

Herds of zombs rushed around from the distance.

Kit knew what she did. And she knew the consequences behind it...life or death.

Something they had to choose based off of their actions.

Zombs were not that hard to kill in a man to man situation, only one so dumb could be killed.

There was no reason to make mistakes when facing them. They were always hungry looking for human flesh to begin with.

Steph walked up to Kit only to make the decision to kill her because she can't be trusted. Drawing the katana, Steph put it upon Kit's neck.

As Matt was sitting on the ground struggling to get up, he was in site of the watch that fell on the ground. Reaching for it, knowing it was the only thing that could protect Steph from bad spirits, he took it and put it in his back pocket.

Despite if they were fighting or not, Steph and Kit was going to die anyway, Matt thought.

Matt took the dagger out of his belt pocket and put the watch in his other pocket as he reached for Steph's leg with one hand. He loved Steph, but to see Kit struggle was heartbreaking because he knew her for longer.

Knowing what he had to do, he stabbed Steph's lower right leg. In order to save Kit's life.

Steph fell to the ground appalled by how such a thing could happen. Injured or not, Kit climbed on top of Steph chest, leaving nothing but a nasty bloody smerk on her face. Kit sees the dagger dropped by Matt when he made that horrendous act to save her. Using the old dusted dagger, she points it directly at her throat. Luckily, Steph had a gun in her lower pocket and pointed it at Kit's head.

"Mano o Mano" Kit said as she carried a grim smile across her face.

Finger on the trigger, Steph began to close her eyes, just as her throat was about to be slit.

Slowly she began to pull the trigger.

BOOM.

Kit's head popped like a balloon and red like paint was splattered everywhere, at least that's what she would like to think. Steph was paralyzed with fear knowing that she didn't do it.

Matt wide eyed just sitting there wandering what his friend just did.

——————————

Slowly, a figure dusted in black began to come out of the the shadow with the bold look of a hawk trying to find his pray.

Matt stood up to go see if Steph was ok.

Still laying there paralyzed of fear, Steph saw Matt hovering over her like she was the meal of a thanksgiving dinner.

"GET. OUT. OF. MY. FACE" Steph said.

Following orders, Matt looked at the shadow of the human. A shadow passed momentarily and made the face look completely black, but when the clouds passed Matt's eyes grew completely vast like a large corn field.

The approacher finally came to a stop right there in front of Matt and beside Steph.

"Sl- Slo-" Matt couldn't even finish his sentence.

"Miss me " the approacher said.

The approacher was a tall woman with long red braided hair that had a silver silk tie around the end. Her skin was like the sun, it could shine on the gloomiest days. She had eyes like diamonds and the attitude of a warrior.

"Are you trying to say...Slone dear" she said.

"How...are you...alive, you're supposed to be dead" Matt asked.

She chuckled with a thunderous laugh.

"Dead, oh no...I just had the life drained out of me"

Her British accent lit up the meaning in her words like a fire.

"Good thing I saved your little friend" she smiled while dusting off her shot gun.

Matt had a stern look on his face.

Dawn was dancing in the sky as shadows accompanied it. Looking down, Slone saw that Steph was passed out.

"Let's carry her over there". Slone pointed to a near by tree where they could rest until Steph was healed. Arm by arm, Slone and Matt lifted her up to bring her to the spot where they could all heal.

-Next Day-

"WAKE UP" was repeatedly being yelled.

The only thing that could come to Steph's head was another sound of danger.

Hopefully this time it isn't.
