28 | New Year

Jeonggyu and Eonjin had a very fun time shopping with Y/N, since she treated them for lunch and a few treats, the things they wanted for Christmas didn't cost that much, so the two were able to buy numerous things at the mall. Jeonggyu bought some things that could be used for pranking and Eonjin bought accessories and clothes

The next few days went by very quickly, everyone stayed at the Kim Household and they would either socialize with eachother or use their phones to be stuck in their own world. Y/N would help out Jeonggyu, Eonjin, and Taehyung in farming, and she also loved exploring the huge house of the Kim family

"Don't go in there though, that's my parents' office and they have some documents that only their eyes can look at" Taehyung told Y/N as she asked why the room was locked "They also have the one and only key that can open it so, me and the twins don't worry about that room that much" he shrugged

After a few days of what someone would call boredom, everyone became busy once again as the New Year came closer, Jimin went out to buy fireworks, Jungkook and Namjoon went to buy food for the New Year's dinner everyone else fixed the house, except for Taehyung, he had another thing in mind

"Hey Y/N, is it alright if I tour you around Daegu for today?" Taehyung asked while she was removing all of the Christmas decorations "Huh? But there's a lot to do for later-" she looked confused when Taehyung got her hand and smiled "Don't worry, the guys can manage, and the streets of Daegu aren't really crowded on days like this" Y/N thought, she did want to move around and do something other than chores "Sure why not" she agreed

The two went out of the house, despite the very dull atmosphere after Christmas, Taehyung's been very active lately, Y/N couldn't figure out why he was like that, maybe because he's back at his hometown again, or maybe because of the season? Who knows "You seem quiet" Taehyung commented while he and Y/N were walking around Daegu

"I'm just not used in seeing the 5 year old Kim Taehyung, usually you're the one that's quiet" She explained and chuckled when she remembered what Taehyung was like at Seoul "Correction, 6" Y/N raised an eyebrow "It was my birthday yesterday, that was why me and the guys were out last night" he explained

"Oh" Y/N stared at Taehyung "Belated Happy Birthday then" "Thanks, by the way, have you eaten breakfast yet?" He asked all of a sudden "Not yet" "Let's eat somewhere then, I know a great place" They walked to a simple looking restaurant, there were a few families inside, when they entered, Y/N was relieved that it was warm, she didn't like wearing a thick jacket and scarf for a long time

"This place is known for their Eight Treasure Spicy Noodles" Y/N has never heard of such name before "You don't know? Well they're very spicy, but the thing is, there is something that they add to make a twist in the original dish, pineapples! But that recipe originated in China, not Korea, many people made their own versions but I heard that no one can match the original" Taehyung explained

"Then many people must know about it?" He nodded "Hm, that seems like a great dish, I'm not sure if I'll like it though, I'm not a fan of spicy food" "That's why the pineapple is there" He laughed a bit and ordered two bowls of Eight Treasure Spicy Noodles, the two chatted while waiting, luckily, their food arrived quickly and Y/N was soon able to try the delicious taste of the famous noodles

"Not bad, how did you know about these?" She continued eating "My mother used to bring me, Jeonggyu and Eonjin here, she and dad had lots of time back then but now, life's getting hard and they have to sacrifice their free time for us to live" Taehyung frowned, Y/N felt bad for him, the only thing is, she doesn't recall a moment with her parents, Jimin told her stories that they were very proud of her though

"How did you get all the money that you have then? Do your parents work at a company with big salaries?" "Actually no, I got a job before I became a teacher so that I could be independent in Seoul, teaching is something I'd do for fun, and I treat it as a part time job" he shrugged "Hopefully they'll go home from wherever they are before we head back to Seoul, I really want you all to meet them" he finished his noodles and stared at the bowl in front of Y/N "You're acting weird, is the noodles a bit too much for you?"

Y/N caught herself staring at Taehyung and she snapped from the trance "O-Oh? Uhm, I'm a bit full, it tastes good! Really, but it's too much for me hehe" She chuckled nervously, Taehyung looked like he didn't believe Y/N's excuse but still ate the remaining noodles anyway

The two walked around more, they went inside multiple stores and Y/N would hug and play with the teddy bears that she found cute in the kids' store that they went in, meanwhile, Taehyung would just wait for her at the outside part of each store

The sun had already set but Taehyung and Y/N haven't went home yet, they stayed at the mall until dinner, but they didn't eat that much, they only ate finger foods so that they could still eat lots of what Jin had prepared. It was 11:00pm, the mall wasn't closed yet, it was very empty, it looked like Y/N and Taehyung were the only ones inside

They continued walking, Y/N wondered why they were going up, does the mall even have a rooftop? She wondered, she was getting tired from all the walking 'Gosh, is there any elevators here?' She asked in her mind and looked around, apparently, there were none, which was unlucky for her

It took some time and energy, but they finally reached the rooftop of the mall, there were no fireworks since it wasn't 12:00am yet, Y/N noticed something about Taehyung, whenever he'd take her somewhere, it was somewhere with a good view and high, maybe it's normal for him to like heights? Or maybe he just likes an astonishing view? 'Aish this is too ridiculous, why am I even thinking these things?' she mentally rolled her eyes

"Uhm Taehyung?" Y/N called "Hmm?" "What time is it?" GrEaT wAy To StArT a CoNvErSaTiOn Y/n "11:50" "Oh" "Do you want to play a game while waiting?" He asked

Y/N was a bit bored, so why not? "Sure, what do you have in mind?" "A getting to know game" "That sounds interesting, what are the mechanics?" She didn't notice the small smile that appeared on Taehyung's face "Easy, we'll just take turns in asking questions, and we have to answer them honestly" "That's easy, I'll go first!" Y/N volunteered

She thought for a moment "Something you hate? And why" "Liars, because a single wrong word or action can cause multiple consequences and everything will turn out complicated" "Hmm, true"

"Favorite item and why?" "Flowers, all kinds are very eye catching and I like that they have different looks, that's what makes them special, and they're too pure to destroy, and I think that they're like us humans because we have many similarities with a flower or perhaps any plant" Y/N explained

The two had fun continuing the game because they got to know a lot about eachother, the two didn't notice that a lot of time has passed by when it was 11:59pm, they had to stop, Taehyung promised that they'll continue and finish their game next time which made Y/N very delighted

Fireworks started showing up in the sky, noise could be heard from the streets of Daegu, the children were the cause of it, Y/N smiled as everyone had fun , it was good knowing that people are still giving time for happiness and their loved ones "Hey Taehyung, I was wondering why we're here instead of celebrating the New Year with the guys?" Y/N looked at the guy beside her, who was also enjoying the view of the kids running around the streets with their friends

"I wanted this to be memorable" He simply said "Sorry if I took away your first New Year with the guys" he apologized "We'll see them later right? Don't worry about it, I'm just happy that I had fun today, and you were with me" She smiled, gosh, she still has that effect on me whenever she smiles Taehyung thought should I hold back? I know she likes me too since she's very obvious but it's not safe He stared at her as she was walking around the rooftop You know what? I'll take my chances

Taehyung gathered up the confidence to walk towards Y/N he got her hand and made her face towards him, their bodies were close to one another, both could feel eachother's breaths, Y/N's mind went blank for a moment, she had no idea on what to feel about what Taehyung just did, "Y/N, do you remember what I said to you at the field?" She nodded "Well, I don't think my heart can stop itself any longer" he nervously chuckled "Y/N, I'm going crazy!" "T-Taehyung" "I know that this isn't fair for your part, but I just can't with all this bullshit!" He tried to not show his anger in font of Y/N, whose heart melted, he's been going through a lot, and even if he wants to be selfish, he can't help but think about what she would feel about it

Y/N wasn't the type of person who would make the first move, but there was something at the back of her mind that was telling her to go for it, it was like a familiar voice, but she doesn't remember where she heard that particular voice, it was saying that everything will be alright, she breathed in and kissed Taehyung on the lips, who got startled, luckily for the both of them, it was just a smack, and Y/N backed away instantly

"Sorry! I didn't know what was going through my mind! Ugh I'm too stupid for doing that let's go home already and why are you laughing?" Y/N looked confusedly at Taehyung who was just chuckling she was messing up her hair "You're cute when you do that" Y/N instantly blushed "Y-Yah Kim Taehyung! T-That's not funny!" She stammered

"That wasn't a joke, it's true Y/N" he stated and faced Y/N once again, "Sorry if we have to do this again but I have to make the first move at some point right? Happy New Year Park Y/N" he said and placed his lips on Y/N's, Taehyung missed the feeling, the way their lips would move everytime they met, he missed the times when he and Y/N didn't need to think of any problems, and of course, he missed the times when it wasn't that awkward

The two parted after a few seconds, breathing heavily, Y/N had never felt so- active in her life, a billion thoughts were flowing through her head, she stood still, not knowing what to say to Taehyung, both stayed silent, the quiet moment was ruined when someone called Y/N's phone "H-Hello?" "Hey Y/N, are you and Taehyung done shopping?" Jimin asked

"O-Oh, yes, we're about to leave actually" "Okay, wait, are you alright? Why are you stammering?" Jimin curiously asked "Nothing hehe, see you! Bye!" She hung up and looked up at Taehyung who had a blank face for some reason "Uhh, we should go, Jimin's finding us" "Okay" "Are you alright?" Taehyung nodded "Just saw something, nothing to worry about though" He gave her a reassuring smile and they left the rooftop together

Anonymous POV

They've already disappeared from the rooftop, fuck, my cover's been blown, Taehyung better keep his mouth shut, but did he really see me? I'm dead to Juhyeon and Chaerin if they knew. I felt something vibrating in my pocket, I got my phone and looked at the Caller ID, ugh, speaking of the devil

"Hello?"

"So? What happened? Did you take any pictures?" Baek's bossy voice almost killed my eardrums

"Of course, I'll send them later when you aren't calling me, now, am I free to go now?" I questioned, I hated working for them, I just need them to quit their threats and I won't have a secret anymore

"Nope" Great, I could murder a girl now "There's one last thing that you need to do, after that, you and your family will have no problem" She giggled, jeez, she needs to get her brain fixed or lock herself up at a mental asylum "See you after New Year" She ended the call

I punched the wall in frustration, if there's one thing that I can't do, then that's betray someone who means a lot to me and vice versa, but the thing is, stupid Chaerin and Juhyeon had to make things harder for me, if I chose the guys and Y/N, my family would be in danger, and now, since I chose them, the guys will eventually be tracked down by Juhyeon, because of me, and the thing is, that's what they're trying to avoid! Ugh I hate myself

If only my parents didn't have any problems, if only they asked someone else to pay their debt, it's my fault for not warning them about Juhyeon and Mr Park's manipulating attitude, sigh, looks like I don't know what Chaerin and Juhyeon has planned, well whatever it is, I hope Taehyung and Y/N will stay strong

And I hope that my family will be alright
