Mystery Girl

Carly picks up the phone on the third ring.

I needed to get out of my boring habitat and do something since I'm single.

"October I've heard about what happened. Are you okay?" Carly says.

"Well the fucking kids won't leave me alone on Facebook," I replied.

"Listen maybe it's time for you to get back out there and find someone. There's a dance that I go to and I want you to come."

"Where's your boyfriend, Carly?"

"We had a fight. Please just show up October," Carly begs.

I needed to move on from Becky anyways, so why not.

"All right you win," I say. "I'll come. Where is it located at?"

"I'll send you the details."

Carly hangs up.

The night of the dance came too quickly.

I was in my car driving to the location.

The radio was blasting thorough the speakers.

I pulled up at a parking spot near the place.

It was a bad feeling that I was feeling on the inside of my body.

I get out of the car. I coughed.

I smelled marijuana and cigarettes.

Someone might be smoking near by.

I saw that Carly's car was parked across the street from me. I walked to the side of the building and saw that Carly was talking to a man who was really tall.

Carly had her back pressed against the wall and the guy was face to face with Carly really close.

The guy was smoking marijuana.

"I'm sorry. I don't mess with women like you," the guy says.

Carly looks at the promise ring that was given to her by her ex-boyfriend.

"This doesn't mean anything," Carly says pulling off the ring. "We broke up."

"That's too much baggage for me to deal with."

I shoved the guy away from Carly.

"Hey," I yell. "Accept the fact that she's into you!"

The guy punched me in the face.

Carly ran over to see if I was alright, but the guy slaps Carly across the face.

I get up and try to defend Carly.

"You didn't had enough? You are the most easiest person that I can fuck up."

The guy pulls up his fists.

Oh shit!

The guy tries to punch me. The guy missed until he hit me in the jaw.

Right after I fell to the floor I saw this woman with the biggest build on her beat up the guy.

The guy ducked away from the fight.

The woman rushes over to me.

"Hey are you okay," the woman asks me.

"Yeah. Thanks," I reply.

"You're going inside soon?"

"Yeah. I'm looking for a new-"

Should I tell the truth? I don't want her to know that I broke up with Becky.

"-A new friend."

I got to stop stretching the truth.

"I know this one person at the dance that fit for you. She's a sweetheart and I heard that she'll be here tonight. Her name is Lexi Lynn Clarke. She has a disability, but don't take advantage of her please."

I walked into the dance. I paid my five dollars to get in the dance.

The room was jammed packed with different people with a disability like me.

My story was that I was born with autism from my father and I didn't get to know much about it until I found out that I have a brain of a prodigy.

The songs were blasting on the speakers.

Cardi B's Money was playing.

I mean I saw the video of that song and it's not what I would like to dance to.

The song ends.

"Alright, alright welcome back to the Friday night social," the DJ says. "Let's burn the joint with some Chainsmokers and 5 seconds of summer!"

The new song begins.

I never heard this song before, but I really like it. I felt a tap on my shoulder.

When I turned around I saw a girl that was dressed all sexy in black.

"Hi," the girl says. "I'm looking for an October James."

"I'm him," I reply.

"I'm Lexi Clarke. I heard a bit about yourself from my friend. You seemed to fit the part."

What part does she mean?

The song changes to Hey Mama by David Guetta.

"Oh I love this song! Do you want to dance with me Lexi?"

I took Lexi's hand and lead the dance.

The song was about female empowerment in the house that she will live in with a man.

After that song Cardi B and Bruno Mars's Please Me plays (Thank God it's the radio edit).

When it came to the bridge of the song and Bruno was singing Lexi was twerking on me slowly.

I don't know why, but when Lexi is dancing with me I think about Becky a lot more.
