Loss

Cole woke up groggily with a headache. Looking at a couple of bottles of wine littering inside the room answers the pain that he's feeling. Hugging the pillow that still have her lingering smell, he realized he have been sleeping inside her room. The room that he never enter ever since he married Aurora. Now that they were about to divorce and she left the house, in his drunken moment he enter her room. The unique fresh smell that he can only find on her still cover the room thus making him feels calm. Unconsciously he lay down on her bed and hug her pillow to sleep. Waking up and seeing the mess that he made inside her room making him frown. Ignoring the headache, he pick up the wine bottles and just threw it out of the door. He doesn't want the smell of that wine overwhelms her unique scent. Remembering her cold emotionless face last night makes his heart ache. Without knowing the reason, he felt uncomfortable with her gone. For the past three years she married him, never once she made any request from him. She never asked his money and never complaint the unfair treatment that she receive from his parent. And whenever he return to their house trying to see how she's doing, she would always welcome him with her bright smile. Acting like there's nothing happen. Even with all the slandering and nonsense rumors about her, he never believe them. He lived with her but it doesn't mean he's blind and believe in everything other people's say. Yet, he never saw her looking down nor trouble by the senseless rumors. In fact he's the one have to deal with with his grandfather's anger. And due to that he was angered whenever another ugly rumors started just when he shut down another. It's like an endless cycle. It bothers him who was the one kept on attacking her and he never did find out the person behind those nonsense rumors. Speaking about his grandfather, he realize his grandfather never call him and yell at him about the news. Still not having any intention to freshen up and change his clothes, he took out his phone and only to read the message that his grandfather send him. Frowning, he call up his grandfather. After waiting for a while, his grandfather finally pick up.

"Grandpa, where are you?" he asked while laying down on Aurora's bed. Still hugging the pillow as if it acted like his charm at the moment. A charm to calm his chaotic heart. Or probably to heal up the unseen and unknown pain that he's been feeling.

"Do i have to report to you on my whereabouts now that you finally making that leech as your wife? Why? So it's easier for that leech to poison me to death? Let me tell you damn brat, there's only going to be only one granddaughter in law that i will acknowledge. And even if you're divorcing her, i will give all my shares and my properties to her. See how that leech survive with just your wealth alone." Mr Wayne speak in anger and frustration the moment he heard his grandson's voice. That calm voice as if he's happy with the divorce. Remembering the answer that Aurora gave to him last night makes his old heart wrench in pain.

"Grandpa, it's not like that. She's not a gold digger. And you should know her since we both grew up together. You've known longer than you knew Aurora. Elaine is the one for me." The moment Cole said it, he feels weird. A strange sense of feeling that seem to disagree on what he said but at the same time trying to convince himself that Elaine isn't what his grandfather thought of. Somehow, he too seem to disbelief his own words. Mr. Wayne snorted.

"If you still want to live in your blind fantasy, then suit yourself. Don't drag me with you. At least i am still well aware of that leech's intention and her ugly heart. You don't know what you have loss." After that, Mr Wayne hung up the phone. Unwilling to prolong the conversation that will soon make him angry again.

Cole could only sigh heavily. He laid there staring at the other side of the bed as if he could see Aurora sleeping there. Not long, he got up and prepared to get everything finalized. His divorce.
