Awake and Alive

Tanya awoke in a bed with mana pumping through her veins. Dazed, she called for whoever could hear her, her voice still broken from what now looked back on seemed like pathetic and pointless sobs. She looked at her arm to see an imprint of some sort of strange glyph. She examined it further but seemed no closer to figuring it out where it came from. Tanya heard the footsteps of a person ahead "Good evening, Miss Hart." A women appeared out of the patch work curtains holding a tray of bread, strawberry jam and some water.

"Good evening?" She replied perplexed by the situation she came back to. "What happened?" She asked, chewing the inside of her cheek, and the nurse began to explain.

"A search and rescue party found you next to the corpse of the King Snare, you was out for the count, however an incredibly high amount of magical energy was circulating around the dungeon, whatever you did, it was impressive."

Tanya struggled to get her words out but decided to nod hesitantly. The nurse placed the tray next to her bed and left the room.

She looked down at the glyph, "what the hell is this?" She attempted to scratch the imprint off of her wrist. She felt stronger, faster and much more agile but couldn't understand why.

She glared out the window, counting each armoured, royal, wyvern that flew over the city of Eldor. She had always wanted one of her own, legend said humans could transform into these mythic creatures if they reached level 1000. Tanya doubted this though as a human/ dragon crossbreed was impossible unless done by magical infusion and a natural one hasn't occured for over 600 years.

Buildings, taverns and inns covered the city and people ranging from the furlos of crept and the elves of Lawdorm. Each furlo seemed to have a different animalistic trait, one had cat ears and another had the colour and scales of a gecko. The furlo were always a race that intrigued her, how everyone of them could be so different but be equal at the same time, they were such peaceful people. As for the elves some had a darkish black tone to their skin and others were as pale as snow, their abilities in alchemy and natural laws and magic truly go unchallenged.

After two days 'bed bound' Tanya was finally released back into the guild, stormvault.

"Newbie!" A voice shrieked.

Tanya rolled her eyes and ignored them "Great it's that dimwit" she murmured under her breath.

"How was your quest?" They giggled and whispered among themselves.

Tanya clenched her fists tightly and gritted her teeth, grinding them slightly. She continued walking towards the quest board as the guild laughed and poked fun at her failure that basically cost her life. A boy, tall with a messy blonde cut which covered his blue eyes and a plethora of freckles camouflaged his face, charged towards her with an evil grin that appeared from cheek to cheek. A strong presence took over her and if upon reflex Tanya raised her hand and a green flame pushed itself out of her small palm, forming a barrier between her and the boy. He blew back with incredible force and his spine smacked against the wooden floor.

"You've pissed off the wrong mage today." Tanya said emotionless with cold eyes.
