[Jason's Point of View]
I'm Jason Leong 12 years old.
It has been a bit over a year, since then I have been here at the Leong's family household
adapting to the new life that I have been granted.
After leaving the hospital, and getting all the paperwork done for my adoption. I hopped into a
flying car for the first time ever. It was an unforgettable experience because it was the first time I
ever seen the city from such a height.
I recognized the sky reaching tall buildings that I use to gaze up upon when I was back in the
slums. I saw many people that looking like tiny ants when I was up in the air. I even saw a bird
flying alongside the car that I was in.
Eventually we flew by the slums that I use to reside in. Compared to the rest of the brightly lit
city, it was really a dark and gloomy area. Rodents and stray animals were everywhere. They
were hiding in the piles of trash, that was stack up like a pyramid. It was dirty and smelly. It was
the place that I came from.
The journey took approximately 30 minutes to reach our destination in the suburbs. The Leong's
house was actually a small clinic. It had two floors the first floor being the clinic, while the
second floor was where we lived.
The Leong's runs a small clinic where they treat the lightly injured, providing pain relief to the
old, applying medicine to the other young children, and if needed provide first aid to the
seriously injured before being sent off to the hospital.
It was there that I lived for a bit over a year.
Now back to the present.
It was a bright and early morning at the clinic.
The birds were singing and the cicadas were buzzing.
"Jason, are you up yet otherwise you are going to be late. You wouldn't want to be late for your
first day at school do you?" said mama Leong
As mama Leong said that Jason was busy getting dressed in his light blue uniform in his room.
After he finished he quickly double checked if he had everything he needed. Once he was
finished checking, he tidied himself by the mirror.
A 12 year old boy in a light blue uniform, wavy light hair, and clear blue eyes.
"I am coming mom." said Jason with a bright smile on his face
"Don't forget to eat your breakfast son. It is the most important meal of the day and it is also
your favorite sunnyside egg on top of rice, with an apple on the side." said papa Leong
"I would never forget to eat it, even if I was offered the world." joked Jason
He got to the table where his dad was. While the mom was behind the counter of the kitchen.
He grabbed his utensils and started gobbling up the food. He even went for seconds and was
finally satisfied.
"Ok, I am leaving now." said Jason
As he was rushing down the stairs. He heard his parents telling him to stay safe and do well in
school.
The school he was going to was an escalating school where it contained a primary school, a
middle school, and high school all rowed into one area. Located on top of a hill and surrounded
by nature school Springwind was a sight to behold.
Jason was walking on the path heading to the school. It was the one everyone in the school
took. A wide path surrounded by flowers and trees. You can see people of all ages and
professions. From the young, to people that seems to be old professors teaching at the school.
Everyone around him suddenly started rushing towards the except for the professors. They
were going to be late. Jason started following them as well.
"Oh, no I might be late to the first day of class." said Jason
The gates to the school started closing. Just as he reached the gate it closed.
"Sorry, kid you are late and needs to be reported to the office. Identification please." said the
gatekeeper
As he handed over his identification. A kid around the same age as him suddenly appeared
besides him huffing and puffing.
"No, my parents are going to kill me." said the kid
"Late again? How many times has it been now? At this rate you might even get kicked out of
school." said the gatekeeper
"Please, gatekeeper let me go this time." said the kid
"Ok" said the gatekeeper
"Really?!" said the kid in a confused and shocked state of being left off the hook so easily
"Jason Leong, you don't have to worry about a thing about being late." said the Gatekeeper
"But aren't I late."said Jason
"No, it is fine since you are a new student and need to report to the office before being placed
into a class." said the gatekeeper
Pointing at the kid next to Jason.
"You, I will let you off the hook today if you bring him to the office, is that fine with you? Or would
you like to be marked up as being late." said the gatekeeper
"It would be my honor sir! Jason lets get going." said the kid
The kid then dragged Jason through the gate in a hurry, as if he was running away from the
gatekeeper.
As they were heading towards the office Jason began talking.
"Hey, thanks for the help if it wasn't for you I would have been stuck in a pickle. I am called
Wing. Nice to meet you." said Wing with a relieved expression
"Nice to meet you too, as you have already heard my name is Jason I am going to be starting
school as a 3rd year middle school student." said Jason
"Hey, we are in the same year. Maybe you will even end up in the same class as me." said Wing
with a grin on his face.
"That would be nice." said Jason
"Well, here we are at the office. See you later" said Wing waving bye
"Later." said Jason waving back
Jason got up to the door and began knocking. Not long after he heard a voice.
"Come on in." said the voice
After all the formalities and check ups. He was finally being placed into a classroom. After a few
calls his professor entered the room to pick him up and lead the way to class.
The receptionist said "This is professor Li, from today he will be your new homeroom teacher."
"Good morning. Professor Li." said Jason
"Good morning, to you too. I like a student that knows manners like you. Unlike a certain
someone." said Professor Li.
On his way back, he was looking back and forth at Jason, while reading his data. When they
made it to the room he opened the door.
"Ok, class quiet down. We have a new student coming into class today. You may come in now."
said Professor Li
Jason entered through the door, while looking around, near the back of the room he saw a
familiar face it was Wing the person he just met up earlier with. For some reason he was waving
at him.
The professor gave him a glance, seemingly telling him to calm down.
"Now, introduce yourself." said professor Li
"Hello everyone, I am Jason Leong, I am from the small clinic from right below the hill. Come if
you ever get lightly injured, you will all be treated. I am a homeschooled kid taught by my
parents. I hope you will treat me well." said Jason
Everyone in the room clapped and started whispering to each other.
"Ok everyone, I am not done yet I still have more to announce." said professor Li
Looking at them with a stern eye.
"As you have all heard he is the son of the Leong's clinic on the bottom of the hill. But not only
that he has top scores in every subject and could be ranked at the very forefront of this last year
of middle school for you all." said Professor Li
"Woah" everyone said in union
"Now the news that everyone wants to hear, next week you will all get to know what spirits you
all have." said professor Li smiled
The class suddenly went wild, including Jason.
The professor then told him his sit is right by the window at the end of the row. Sitting next to
him was Wing with a smile.
"Ah, I can't wait." said Wing looking at Jason
"My spirit, I wonder what could it be." thought Jason
