"And for how long?"

"I need to observe it for a full day and night. Twenty-four hours, straight. This includes paying attention to every detail and touching the foundations of the area. It's a rather large area so I think I'll be using a few days, even with your help. That's on my fault, not yours."

"And after that, I have to create a Time Frames using a few Time Frames of this Time and merge it with the Time Frames of the building's Time so that it won't create a paradox. And lastly, I will have to cover the entire area with the new Time Frame. It's going to be a long week."

"If only I had the Element of Time as my main Element or had been a Time Mage. Then I could help you better since Valkyries have a heightened sense of touch and we are fantastic at observing every detail we see," said Mavislin, with a sad smile.

"Then you won't be called a Valkyrie anymore. But that's why I like the way you are now. If you were a Time Mage, the chances of meeting you would be undeniably small since two Time Mages together are far more dangerous than a Dark and Light Mage."

"And why is that?" asked Mavislin, finishing the bowl of pasta.

"Because the chances of the Time Frame overlapping and causing confusion will double. It's like bringing two worlds to collide with each other. Safe to say, I have not met any other Time Mage. Call it an occupational hazard to be near another Time Mage."

"And with you not being a Time Mage, I can choose to be by your side at all times. I can choose anytime to go to save you when I know you would be in danger. Or even before you know it," replied the Time Boy, shoving the last spoonful of pasta into his face.

"Why do you want to save me all the time? Even Gillian and Ysabeau have given me free rein," asked Mavislin, tilting her head in confusion.

"I'm just worried for you. It's not that I think you are not strong enough... It's just that unsettling feeling of seeing you hurt every time we come back from a mission. Be it emotionally or physically hurt. I know so many have perished in front of you... Yet, you still carry on."

"If I were you, I'd stop a long time ago. But no, you didn't. You continued to pave your way. You took down Minwoo to free him from a curse. You placed Ashley into a world where he would never feel pain anymore. And you allowed Gab to reunite with his old family. Despite everything."

"So that's why I have made up my mind to be by your side. You have been always my partner in crime. But I want this relationship to be something more. From the day I rescued you to the time you stopped me from going overboard... These are the moments I knew I have to be with you."

Raiyen glitched to Mavislin's side and lowered himself to kneel on a knee. Mavislin was slightly shocked and scared when Raiyen reached out to grab her hands. But her body relaxed as she felt Raiyen's bony fingers.

"Do you want to be with me? As a couple. Because I love you," asked Raiyen, with his heart pounding and face going red.

It was hard to do it without sounding like he was pulling a prank. And Mavislin was still as shocked as before, still unblinking with no words coming out. Thinking that his feelings were not returned, Raiyen looked down in despair. But Mavislin loved to surprise people, particularly her Time Boy.

"Why do you love me?"

"You are the only girl that truly made me feel special. You didn't look at me with those disdain eyes I was used to in my birth town. You grabbed my hand with radiant happiness surrounding your being and gave me a family. I want to return the favor as well, by being with you."

She leaned forward and gave a gentle kiss on his forehead, causing Raiyen to look up once more. This time, with big round eyes that the Valkyrie had grown to love. She then cupped his face with her hands and dragged him towards her. With only an inch apart, Raiyen blushed madly.

"I love you too," said Mavislin, kissing both of his cheeks.
