The Ark Of Flash Pass To Heaven

Bryan freaked out as the fox continued to hack up more blood.

"Can you hold up in time for Mavislin to get back? Or do you want me to get the High Queen?" asked Baldwin.

Tomoe's eyes widened as he shook his head, vehemently denying help from the High Queen. But he froze as he saw the shadow of a being's large wings. Tomoe turned his head slowly, only to be met with a sweeping hug by Mavislin.

Nonetheless, the fox nearly passed on with the shock he felt from Mavislin. But luckily, he merely passed out, shocking everyone else.

"He thought you were Ysabeau," explained Baldwin.

"He nearly had a flash pass to heaven..." said Bryan, looking at the feeble Kitsune.

Mavislin held the limp fox in her arms and shook her head. Her palm glowed as she hovered it above the wound. As the gash began closing up, Bryan found the strength to breathe again, worried that Mavislin would start scolding again.

"You did as you were told. And Tomoe was right, it will take more than that to kill him. What you accomplished was remarkable. After all these years, someone finally broke those fans. And it wasn't by a Mage or supernatural being. It was by a mortal human with extra upgrades," praised Mavislin.

Bryan looked down, refusing to meet Mavislin's eyes. Her voice may be gentle but there was no knowing if her expression was the same as her words. The Valkyrie noticed and acted accordingly, by giving Bryan a nice head pat. The boy looked up and nodded.

"However, if this was in an actual battlefield, Tomoe would have won. He could have grabbed your weapon and broken it before your blade touches the fan. Or those flames of his could have roasted you to cinders. But in this case, victory is yours," added Baldwin, placing a hand on Bryan's shoulder.

"Hey, don't dampen the boy's happiness! Leave him be, Grumpy Man," answered Raiyen, glitching behind Baldwin.

The Angry Man swung around and tried to grab the boy's hair but failed as Raiyen glitched behind his girl.

"No matter how many years have passed, you're still scared of the Angry Man," whispered Mavislin, shaking her head.

"Am not! I just needed to get away from him because he was going yank my hair out!" protested Raiyen, pouting at Mavislin.

"If you hadn't been too busy with that spell of yours with Mavislin, I was wondering if I could duel with you once more. But seeing that it takes up the whole week, my chance of that happening is slim," replied Baldwin.

"No way! I'd rather fight him!" yelled Raiyen, pointing at Bryan.

Poor Verna looked at Raiyen with fear and confusion. The boy had just faced off Tomoe, a Familiar of Raiyen. To Bryan's knowledge, a Familiar's power is a fraction of their master's power. Bryan barely made it out alive when he was up against Tomoe.

And not to mention that he had been initially afraid of Raiyen before they went onto the mission of Albion. If Raiyen wanted to duel with him, Bryan would have his soul file for divorce from his body. Mavislin paid no heed to them as she continued healing Tomoe's wounds.

Bryan wondered how things were back then when the group first met, looking at Baldwin and Raiyen bickering. It must've been hard living under the same roof with these two arguing days in and out. With the two Mages' Aura increasing, Bryan got cautious and stepped away from the two.

"If you are itching for a fight, why not pick one with Rina? She doesn't seem to have anything to do..." asked Raiyen, pointing to the direction of the waterfall.

"She needs to take care of the kids, she hasn't got the time to duel with you," reasoned Mavislin, glaring daggers at Baldwin, who thought it may be a good idea.

"Besides, I don't think Raiyen is telling the truth. At least, he is leaving something important out," continued Mavislin, as she laid Tomoe on the grass.

"What do you mean?" asked Baldwin.

"Mav! I thought we are on the same side..." complained Raiyen.

If Raiyen had Tomoe's ears, they would have been drooping in betrayal right about now.

"Me being on your side has got nothing to do with the information we are to update to the higher-ups. No matter what, I have to let them know about our progress of the spell. The sooner, the better. I've got missions to go on, you know. I don't have all the time in the world," replied Mavislin.

Baldwin smirked and nodded his head, impressed that the little Valkyrie of the Old Chapel knew how to draw the line between relationships and work. Raiyen, on the other hand, still had a long way to go.
